I have been buying loads of these. Look forward to some large battles and cool setups. Anyone else play A&A minis? The heroscape terrain looks quite compatible actually.

Bix, give me a call. My russian sniper teams are looking forward to decimating your feeble SS brigades.
A Wednesday night perhaps? Let me know.

I just bought a A&AM starter set. Those minis are tiny. The vehicles are nice, but the soldiers are really small.
The rules look nice but I wish the minis were bigger.

:D I don't see it happening, but thanks for the invite.
I picked up a A&AM starter set because I was impressed with the War at Sea game I picked up last week. They both look nice and I will get my kids into these when they are older.

I am looking to buy or trade for Axis and Allies Minis. PM me if you have to trade. (I am using them for something else as I do not play A&A)

I think I'm gonna buy Axis and Allies, but what would be better? The Minis or the Board game?

Depends on your style. The board game requires several hours to complete. The pieces are nothing special if you look at them as miniatures, but fine as game components.
A battle in the minis game usually takes around 45 minutes once you are familiar with the rules. The new larger scale minis look pretty good. AH is in the process of a major rewrite of the rules. They will be available online at the WOTC site soon. Many of the stat cards will be redone and available on pdf file on the WOTC site.
There is no question the board game is less expensive. One $45 or so hit and you are done. The minis game can be a money pit.

I bought the Doomsday boardgame, but I think I'm also gonna get the minis. What's better, war at sea, or the original sets? And what should I get to be able to play full games?
