Gulp and I were joking a little in the Question Dump thread, and he suggested that we continue this in the HS General section.
Therefore, I want to know what your take is on the politics in Valhalla and such. The economics, and what the generals are doing to avoid lava spills in the Quagmire swamp. ;)
This is just for laughs, too. I don't want one of the generals getting impeached because you went too far.

I think it's fairly obvious that Utgar needs to control his immigration problem. He shouldn't take it as far as Vydar of course, but he really needs to rein that in.

Vydar has been having trouble with water shortages and drought. I mean he just isn't up to date with the latest irrigation.
Einar as well needs to work on domestic security. I mean if one minion could get into his territory and attack his own daughter? That's a pretty bad omen for his security.

I think that the generals do have some strange policies...
Exhibit A: Symmetrical terrain is the only acceptable method of battles for show(I'm looking at BoV;)). What about the mountains?
Number 2: Each system of economy is way too different. I paid 40 points for a legitimate squad yesterday, and now for these Kyrie I have to pay an additional 100 points? What the Hex?
3rd Example: Since when do sworn enemies fight in the same exact army working extra well with each other:confused:?
AE#4's thoughts: Wow, Valhalla looks a lot like Earth. That means we should get like every advantage that Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast will offer. Since we know how to walk on grass(unlike those Soulborgs).

Einar had to start diversifying his army. He was about to recieve a discrimination lawsuite because he had a "Humans Only" policy in place.

Due to the immigration of non-native specisis to Vahalla, new diseases have spread like wildfire. Vydar's medical department can hardly keep up.
Utgar recieves an F on his conservation efforts. First he summons a mob of destructive aliens, and then he lets them infest a continent. It's a small continent, but a continent none the less. Kinda like Europe.
Even though it's five generals versus Utgar, he still seems to have an edge. Come on. Sure, Utgar has a lot of units, but if the allied generals combined their forces, they could easily wipe out Utgar.
The generals have an odd system of honor. They fight battles with armies of the exact same size (point wise) and fight on symetrical battlefields.
Last of all, the generals should wake up and smell the Plutonium and end this war already. If they can snatch soldiers from other worlds right before they die, can't they steal Nuclear warheads right before they're dismantled to conform to Nuclear non-proliferation treaties?

This thread is a hoot!
The silliest bit of it all is that all of these great warriors of Valhalla have a bad habit of sitting there and taking it when some unexpected enemy comes around. I can understand Marcus and Drake not raising a sword against a foe they haven't been given orders to fight; they are soldiers, after all. But, for the life of me, I can't figured out why wild 'n' crazy guys like the marro sit around and wait for the boss-man to point and say "sic'em". (buncha lazy hop heads, I'm tellin ya!)
Valhalla has its advantages, though. For instance, all a viking has to do to get a tactical advantage over Jotun is stand on a rock that's taller than the giant's foot!
Oh, and you gotta love that all of these guys have been gifted with a free, 5% chance to completely ignore the devastating effects of bathing in molten lava, but for some reason it takes flyers a bit of extra effort to land in the snow!

Do Jandar and Einar give their human warriors health care benfits? If Drake feels ill, can he just 'take a sick day' and sit out a battle?

Hex, all of the generals should be brought up on war crime charges. It seems pretty unethical to deny the death of another universe's warrior, transporting them involuntarily into another war zone. On a somewhat related thought - I wonder if there are language barriers?

Why does a viking, with medieval weapons have more attack power than a futuristic alien with a plasma rifle?
Why do powers like Mindshackle have only a minimal chance of working? It seems that it worked when it needed to on Marr. Or Rod of Negation, who knows how many times Morsbane has used it before, at least once that I know of, on Valhalla he can only do it three times. There must be something in the air on Valhalla that tampers with other planet's technology.

That's it; we need a squad of Diplomats:
Human
Unique Squad
Diplomats
Medium 4
Move:4
Range:1
Attack:1
Defense:2
Negotiation 12
At the end of each round that at least one of your Diplomats is adjacent to at least one of your opponent's Diplomats, roll the 20D. If you roll a 12 or higher, immediately end the game and tally up the points in each army. The player with the most points left wins.
Retaliation
Whenever a Diplomat you control is destroyed, you may immediately take a turn with any army card you control.

I would love to know what happened to Vydar the day he summoned Dund and the G Nators. Usually Vydar is by far the best judge of talent based upon who he has drafted (Q9, Q10, Braxas, Krav, Glads/Blasts, etc). Obviously something went drastically wrong the day he summoned Dund and the G Nators. I suspect a few possible explanations:
-Vydar had a medical reaction on that day and was not thinknig clearly
-Other generals sabatoged his real picks that day, leaving him instead with those 2
-He was busy that day and let his Wife summon for him

The generals really need to call a temporary cease fire and address some serious issues facing their world. The glaciers are gone. The tundra has almost completely disappeared. It has however revealed vast dungeons with curious shaped stalagmites that some non-experts say resemble small pieces of glaciers.

I think Jandar has some issues identifying rank. Why is Drake, who was a mere sargent on Earth, a general of Valhalla? And who sends their general into the Ticilla Jungle alone anyway?
And have you noticed that there are only 6 species of trees on Valhalla? Strange evolution if you ask me.

I agree. If you want to investigate the Underdark, why wouldn't you send an army, or at least more than just four heroes.
Also, why weren't Vydar or Ullar supplying any heroes to help?

Reasons to not send your whole army into the underdark...
1. It is an underground cave, and the generals need to defend their territory above ground because the war is still going on. It would suck if Jandar's army comes back from the underground only to find Utgar sitting in Jandar's throne, "Ha ha ha, all your base are belong to us!"
2. smaller parties can travel faster, make less noise, not as easilly detected, and don't need as much supplies as a big army.
3. Why didn't Vydar or Ullar help? Because they got stiffed for DnD heros in the masterset.

What are your thoughts on the law suit between Ullar and Vydar? You know, about with the pollution and all, and how Vydar's killing the forest. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out. Then again, Vydar's on better terms with Utgar than most, and he doesn't seem to care what montrosities lurk in his ranks, so he might negotiate a trade for a lawyer or two...

Honestly, whenever there is group of around 15 beings in a cave, why are three of them always mindshacked by Ne-Gok-Sa, and what prevents them from killing each other instead of voting one to be paralyzed, then temporarily losing one of their own?
And why do they always do this to a random group of warriors, and make it as if it was some sort of game?

Thats becuase God took Saint Valentine before any of the generals did. Also, how long do court cases take in Valhalla? Vydar is taking too much time getting the right lawyers and not enough time getting troops.

No no...being a bit higher than his foot means that he's might be able to reach more "vital" regions of Jotun thus making his attack raise!

I don't like that the entire economy is build on human trafficking and forcing people to fighting war they know nor care nothing about. And it is a pointless war to begin with, focused only on greed and getting natural resources that wont even help out their economy - but they want it just so others don't get it. One ring to rule them all I say. All the generals are power-hungry warlords (especially Jandar & Utgar) who will step on the backs of people know matter where they are from or what time they are from.
I don't even want to go into how taking all the historical earth figures is altering our timeline and causing multiple extra dimensions that will ultimately collapse our universe. At least now they are taking people from places outside Earth like Eberron, but that is just selfish thinking for us Earthlings, as taking people from Eberron is ruining campaigns in that universe as well. The war will never end until we can find a way for them to cut off recruitment from other worlds and they do not have any more new characters in their world - that will be both as sad and victorious day for all.

But how can the environment of Valhalla stand an additional surplus of potentially billions of people? It just seems like it'd be just people starving everywhere. Or is that what happens to the corpses...

Well, if one hero dies, then the partner to the soldier that kills him five generations later makes another hero. But if he lives, then both die and the second hero is never created.
So hero 2 exists yet doesn't at the same time. So it couldn't be the same reality. A paradox!

The problem with ruins.
Since Vahalla's only sentient warfaring beings, the Kyrie, are capable of massive flight (you could build a wall 50 hexes high, and Raein could breach it) why are there walls? They seeem rather pointless, as the Kyrie did not have cannot or apparently seige weapons (wouldn't we have seen them if they were there?) walls are a waste of good stone.
Yet, there are random decade old ruins everywhere.
Why? Do Kyrie have a fetish for random walls?
A second problem.
Why does Einar summon soldiers that are the direct enemies of Jandar's troops? The late-18th century British and Americans did not get along very well.

The reason is that be for the valkyrie the Kyrie did not know that there wings where for flight but thought they where looking pretty.

I believe I have discovered a conspiracy. As we know, Ullar and Vydar have had a "rocky relationship." So, Ullar sends Deadeye to kill Vydar. He succeeds, but Deadeye is captured, so Ullar doesn't know. Some kyrie lookalike stands in for Vydar, so panic is not created. This is why Vydar hasn't had any new troops in a while.

But now how does that kyrie begin to summon more troops? Unless there is another key to summoning troops that Vydar's replacement found out...

The problem with Valhalla is a new general arises to suck up troops when poor Aquilla's army is dwarfed (wordplay intended) in comparrison to the other generals.

Which is why you would never draft the 4th Mass. and the 10th Regiment in the same army.

I also think there is something funny with the water or food causing mental instability. While else would you see cross general bonding?
Like Romans to Marros? Or Death Knights to Venocs?

Maybe the Warlords are just that good of leaders they can cross the species boundary and command troops they never used to in their home world

That's how the Roman soldiers were trained ;) or maybe their just that scared of the freaky alien that they do what their told out of fear.

The marro are one with the force. How else does ne-gok-sa mind shackle his victims? He just waves his hand. "I am not the one you want to kill." ah, yes the good ol' marro mindshackle trick.

Well if you read the bios, Marro leaders have psychic powers, so maybe ALL Marro leaders, like even Me-Burq-Sa can use Mind Shackle, its only hardened veterens like Ne-Gok-Sa and Kee-Mo-Shi who can do Mind Shackle in the heat of battle.
That's solid reasoning right?

Why is staring at something so powerful on Valhalla? Me-Burq-Sa, Dund, Gurei Oni, and Torin can all look at something and whoop it.
Is the war just a really BA staring contest?
EDIT: Me-Burq-Sa plays peekaboo with medium and small figures. But when he moves his hands away from his eyes they're terrified by his ugliness. Right?

Something like that. The marro have an indecipherable language so they communicate telepathically. I did see a webisode about Kee-Mo-Shi though. She mindshackled people by putting amulets on them.

The problem with Valhalla, A new general like Valkrill joins in the game right at the same time when everyone else gets ready to quit. "hey guys, I brought my army...what? What do you mean I'm not gonna get any more than a few units?"

I think the Romans are just sellouts.
They'll follow any Warlord who waves a paycheck in their faces.

The Mezzodemons have been struck by a disease that causes them to shed their exoskeletons. Frost Giants, Ice Trolls, and Masters of the Hunt are now adapting to use their shedded exoskeletons as armor.

It's funny because, according to the AE bio, that's actually what happens. Except it's regular Kyrie, not the Generals.

If the generals can summon entire armies to Valhalla, why don't they whip up some planes. I mean, would you rather have a sweet jet or a couple of Kyrie.
