We watched Time Bandits just a couple of days ago. We were struck by how "Heroscape-y" the movie was. Especially the end where the Time Bandits bring in a Sherman tank, cowboys, space fighter, archers (Greek? Assyrian?), and mounted knights to face off against Evil.

I suppose it's more properly that Heroscape is rather "Time Bandit-y". :D

Interesting observation! I enjoyed that movie tremendously when it came out.

Now who will be the first Merry Man custom with a Rips Off Arm special ability, or a Punches the Poor Special Attack?

Loved that movie when it was first aired on HBO back in the 80s. Still have the VHS, just no working VCR to play it. :(

;) This is the great joke about having a problem with "D&D Scape!" Time travel has been used in almost every role play environment at some point. D&D is not just Fantasy; nor is Heroscape. But its certainly a good category within the larger framework.

And yes, let's hope for more historical Classic Scape some day...

When I saw that movie, I thought it was pretty good. Everyone else just thought it was wierd. It did have a kind of wierd ending though.
