This stinks.

Michael Scott fans, say farewell to your leader. Actor Steve Carell tells E! that he will leave the hit NBC comedy this season when his contract is up.
"I just think it's time," Carell said from the Despicable Me red carpet. "I want to fulfill my contract. When I first signed on I had a contract for seven seasons, and this coming year is my seventh. I just thought it was time for my character to go."
And there's no telling if he's being falsely modest, or delusional, but Carell also says his departure won't be a big deal and that the show could continue fine without him.
"I didn't see it as a huge thing and I certainly didn't anticipate any sort of hubbub over it. I'm just not going to extend my contract, but I didn't see it as a huge deal. And the show is great, and the ensemble is so strong, and the writers are great, so it's just one part of that ensemble drifting off. They've incorporated so many new characters and so many new, great story lines that I have no doubt it'll continue as strong, if not stronger, than ever."

The Office is over as far as I'm concerned.

I believe the word you're looking for is sucky. Or maybe crappy. Possibly Craptacular? Craptastic. Suck-o-rama. Bottom line: Bad.

The Office is over as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. I predict they'll try it without him for a season and it'll bomb, then they'll cancel the show. As great as the rest of the cast is I can't picture it without Michael.

At least there is going to be one more season with Mr. Scott.

Anybody else watch the episode with Will Ferrell tonight? Although Will will probably not be the new boss, what did you think of this taste of a Michael-less office?

I really didn't want to say it but I'm disappointed. Will seemed out of place and I only chuckled at the bit with Andy, and I fully realize now that Michael simply cannot be replaced. Your thoughts?

Your thoughts?

Yeah, I still stick by what I said in post 4. As much as I like Will, if he becomes the new boss I didn't really see anything that changes my opinion on Thursday's show.

I only chuckled at the bit with Andy He was funny and I liked Darryl in his western gear. He should have kept the guns, though.

I kind of liked the change to Will. He seems like he's more focused on the business and less so on joking around, which I guess is good for the company but not for the show. This week's episode really brought out what I dislike in Michael-he doesn't take change well, as a similar thing happened when Charles from Sabre was brought in.

Huge cliffhanger at the end there!
That was Michael yelling "NO! NO!" at the end there, right? I'm not 100% on that, my TV volume was kinda low. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me.

And during the credits they reveal some possible new bosses... Ray Romano, Ricky Gervais, and Jim Carrey () are the ones I remember... still I don't see anyone replacing Steve (his last few lines had me cracking up :)).
