Hey guys! I recently played a small tournament with some buddies, a six round matchup. We played with 600 point armies and tallied up remaining points and records to determine the winner. I fielded this army:
Marro Hive 160
Marro Stingers x2 280
Marro Drudge x2 380
Marro Dividers x2 480
Iskra Esenwein 530
Rechets of Bogdan 580
Isamu
Otonashi
The army far exceeded what I thought it could do, and I came out with a 5-1 record and averaged about 470 points left in my army each round. I'm not sure whether I got really lucky or what, but I was thinking of ways to tweak the army around the 600 point model. Any suggestions? One thing I was thinking of was replacing Iskra, Rechets, Isamu and Otonashi with two more squads of Stingers. Good idea, bad idea? Thanks!

More of a common squad = better, in a normal tournament style game. I have a friend who uses Iskra and the Rechets all the time, he hardly ever gets them out before Iskra dies. I just feel like she is too much of a gamble personally (yet I love the Vipers). Also, the Drudge aren't very good. You could probably replace them with 2 more divider squads and do even better. What was the army you lost to, by the way?

Yeah, the Drudges are rather weak, typically I used them to tie the enemy down while my Stingers got into position, though they did excel on one rather swampy map...
The Dividers idea sounds nice! It would definitely help make better use of their dividing capability as well, giving them longer endurance.
For the round I lost, I was decimated me by Captain America and the Viking Champions. :P

For a screen, I would defintely take extra Dividers over the Drudge even on a swamp map; Tunnel can be useful, but even in swamp water the Dividers have better survivability.

I would probably keep 1 squad of the Drudge on a swamp map, if only to grab some glyphs. That tunnel was practically made for that.

Scrapping the hive altogether
Stingers x4 (what can I say I love Stingers...) - 240

Actually you can't swamp water tunnel onto a glyph. The space you tunnel onto must be "empty". That means no figures and no glyphs.
And yes, I agree with everybody else; drop the drudge for more dividers. But if you do that also consider swapping the Hive for Su Bak Na, since the hive can't rebirth dividers. Plus Hive Supremacy would improve Stinger Drain and Marro Divide, along with giving you a strong cleanup unit in the end game.

It is worth noting that this army decimated the Hulk.

At 600 points, here are the best Marro Hive armies I can think of:
Marro Hive 160
Stingers x6 360
Raelin 80
Total 600/Drop a Stinger
This would be a force to be reckoned with. For more fun armies, see below:
Marro Hive 160
Raelin 80
Drones x5 250
Su-Bak-Na 160
Total 640 (Over I know, but it looks so fun)
Tor-Kul-Na 220
Wo-Sa-Ga 135
Nagrubs x5 150
Warden 816 90
Total 595
Only the first is really competitive, but the rest are all pretty fun.

Eh, I've beaten Hulk with Ashigaru. Any kind of squad can generally take Hulk down.

Thanks guys! At this point I'm thinking switching out the Drudge with more Dividers, and replacing Iskra, Rechets and the ninjas with Stingers, so I don't lose any rebirthing punch. Su-Bak-Na could be a nice choice as well...

Ehh? I always thought that you could tunnel onto a glyph, but I was wrong. Oh well;). Thanks for telling me.
