I was recently looking through some Dungeons & Dragons 3rd (4th) edition map/tile sets (I have the Dire Tombs tile set and I must say they look pretty cool) and I thought if only the squares were a little larger they would be perfect for Heroscape. Now I know Heroscape is a 3D style game and well all of the battles take place out doors, but what about some indoor battles? Especially if the sets came with 3D objects (Pillars etc.) Would anyone actually buy any of these if they were made available or should indoor sets be free to print out?

I was under the impression that that's exactly what MS3 was - an indoor "dungeon" set.

I think he is talking about like a structure with floor tiles or wood floors. And this would not bend with the rest of Heroscape all that well. It would need to be it own branch. Plus, how many famous battles do you know of that have been fought completely indoors?

I see no reason why Heroscape couldn't be fought in indoor settings.
The MS3 dungeons work just fine. Other indoor settings could definately work as well.

It would be great if WoTC would create new large expansion packs for indoor environments. MS3 could be fully expanded onto with pillars, walls, bridges, treasure hoard, fungus etc. I hope they realize the potential that is there and have something in development for it.

Castles is as far as I think they should go with this.

If WoTC want to take HS underground and indoors, they'd win a lot more fans if they actually fully realised the idea and brought out expansion sets of components compatible with the FotA set. Whenever I set up a dungeon HS game I 'wall it in' for that dungeon feel. Why not a set with feature walls, wells, altars, cells etc to fill out a dungeon? Or even a set with windows, new doors, conical rooftops, etc as a FotA add-on?
