I have been wanting to try something along the lines of this for awhile but I didn't know what possible problems might be so I decided to give it a test. Below is a set mission that I have created for use with one of the SOTM master set maps. If you successfully complete this mission post your result (what figures died or got wounds) and how much heroscape terrain you have here so I can give you your next mission. I am unofficially taking the roll as your game master or perhaps the general Ullar. Either way if you are up for an interesting little game then give it a try. If it sucks you can say so. I don't care.
(oh and yes you will need either ROTV or proxy some figures)
(also you can use the automated battle rules if you are alone. I don't really use the automated rules for the campaigns I just play for both sides. You can do this too if you promise to play fairly. lol)
Rules:
On the map of the second mission in the SOTM master set. (I forget what it's called) Your starting figures are Sonlen, Syvarris, and two other cards of your choice that follow Ullar. Must not exceed 450 points total including Syvaris and Sonlen. You start on anylevel above level 1. You also may choose any 1 glyph to place in your start zone except for thorian.
The opponent may draft 1 hivelord and marro squads as he pleases. Must not exceed 350 points.(unless using automated battle rules.) 2nd player must start at least 8 spaces away.
The Scenario:
After a massive Marro assault you have few surviving troops at the outpost which you were stationed. You must get out with as many surviving people as possible. Ullar has ordered "With this section of the border lost you must try and commence an immediate counter attack or else our archkyrie castle may fall. Resist the immediate foe and escape the current situation. We will then plan our move."
I will make some more missions using ROTV and some other stuff so you can choose from a couple different campaign themes.
This is kinda on the spot and has only been tested once so it might suck and you can say so if you please. I just like making stories and then playing through the scenarios that run through my mind as if it's all in a book. Even if the playability sucks hopefully I can entertain you with an interesting story. (but you gotta play to know the next chapters) No foresight for you. lol
