I'll post upcoming CLOUT tournaments and info on this thread. It's a fun game. If you get a chance to try it please do.

This coming Sunday - October 1st I will be hosting a Clout Tournament at Valley Collectibles in Simi Valley, CA.
It will start at 2:00 PM and we will have at least one CLINCH tournament (cool Metal medallions as trophies) and a special Halloween themed "Goblins Vs Undead" tournament. I have special "Rally"medallions for this portion of the event. We have a few other surprises in store.
If you live in SoCal and have ANY interest please shoot me a PM.

Yes, yes I do.

We've actually turned it into a beer drinking game.

Rune, I saw the poster for this tourny in Adams Blog. Are you the one who made it? It looks AWESOME!

Thanks! yeah I sketched those ugly guys and put that together pretty quickly for the store to put in his window and to hand out to people who came into the store.
If you're on Adam's blog you can also see my custom CLOUT table and a picture of my daughter playing clout on the beach at sunset. That was in Maui!

Late!

Hehe I was wondering how long it would take for a reference to the other infamous thread. Not long at all :D

Clout is really a lot of fun.
It's easy to learn and doesn't take a lot of time.
Oh, and you get to throw things! 8)

I've played a few games recently with my son and his friends. I haven't even played Heroscape lately. I bought an Xbox 360 and a foosball table and those have sucked up all my free time.

My local game and comic stores are doing close-out prices on Clout (3-4 bucks or less for a starter, 1 buck for a booster). So for those that want to get into it, check your local stores...some of them may be clearing out the product.

We had a CLOUT tournament over the weekend that was a blast. We started with a CLINCH tournament with these awesome metal medallions as trophies then we had an Undead vs Goblins Halloween themed event with special Rally level Medallions and we followed that up with a 50 point game with more CLINCH medallions. 13 people playing for over 8 hours. Lot's of fun.
The game is only going to take a little of my Heroscape time away hopefully.

The game is hard to find but just like Heroscape they've purchased a Marvel license. So after the Marvel set comes out I see the game taking off. We'll see!

We had two days of CLOUT at Micomicon over the weekend. I'll be helping out at the CLOUT booth at GenCon SoCal so hopefully there will be some Heroscape going on while I'm there. i haven't been on here in a while so I need to look around and see if there is a GenCon SoCal thread.
Here's a short video a friend shot at Micomicon.

We ran another CLOUT event over the weekend and it was a hit.
Hidden City Games will have a strong presence at GenCon SoCal so if any of you are planning on going come by and check it out. There might be some samples of the upcoming CLOUT Marvel expansion!

Make sure you report in after SC. I'm curious if they will be able to have any Marvel to hand out due to the 1/1/07 licensing agreement. (The Green Goblin does look AWESOME though)

Clout had a booth at GenCon SoCal but now they have pulled out because of some emergency. There will still be a bunch of tournaments though.

Man that's too bad. @ GenCon :gencon: they had a great booth with the free custom chips they made with your picture on them. There were about 4 demo tables set up, and they had some good foot traffic every day.

Do me a favor, if you happen to see any of the new Marvel chips post some pics here.

^^ Will do - I've seen some poor quality images of a few of the play test versions. The only one I could really make out was "Green Goblin". I think they're going to be awesome.

There wasn't any Marvel chips there but there was a booth selling regular CLOUT starters and boosters. I played the demo and really liked the game. I also got some free chips. Then I decided to play in a Starter Tourney and got all kinds of good loot. It was a lot of fun. What I really like about this game is that you can play it anywhere.

The Official CLOUT booth was pulled from GenCon but they setup shop at another convention's booth. The tournaments all went well and there was a lot of prize support. There were two complete sets of 50 Japanese dragon chips given to the winners of the two invitational events. I walked away with 16 booster packs and a bunch of promo chips. I finally got to play with a bunch of people that I've only communicated with on the forums. Other than two minor aggressive moments everybody had a blast and got along really well.
When somebody lost against me early in the dragon invitational they ran over to the TO and complained about one of my throws. They didn't mention it to me at the time. If they had a problem with my throw I would have rethrown the chip. Unfortunately I was a bit upset so I threw poorly the rest of the tournament and I lost my next three games. My stack was awesome and could have won every game if I just threw well.
Oh well, Just a game.

PS apparently Marvel Clout is being "Pushed back". That doesn't sound good.

Well, the inevitable happened. Clout is all wrapped up it seems. Can't say I'm surprised. It was a decent enough game but good lord a'mercy did they charge through the nose for it!

For those looking to get free demo kits, no more will be sent, sorry to say. I hope everybody got their free starter kits while they could and did whatever demos they wanted to do.

Quoted from a Demo Team e-mail:

Hi everybody,

The first thing I want to do is apologize for being absent for the last month. The following letter should have been written and posted over a month ago, but it kept being held up for one reason or another. Despite what the letter says, I have assembled 100 sets of prize chips and will be mailing them out on a first come, first serve basis. The Medallions are done with though. Now that the announcement is made, I can answer your e-mails and requests more effectively. I also have a temp now, which will take care of the ‘don’t have time for anything” problem. Without further ado, on to the bad news…

Back in November when Hidden City Games announced that Clout Marvel Heroes was being put on hold, we optimistically hoped that this was a temporary situation and that we could get the set released as soon as summer 2007. As I think many of you suspected at the time, that wasn’t realistic, though I was confident we could and would make it happen.

About a month ago, I too realized that relaunching Clout in 2007 was something we simply couldn’t manage. Too many things needed to happen to get Clout Marvel Heroes released, and few of them looked likely. At that point I had to decide how to proceed with Clout Organized Play.

Back in November, Organized Play’s purpose was to keep the Clout community alive and vibrant until we could get Clout Marvel Heroes launched. With the enthusiasm I’ve seen from the Venture Team, I have no doubt that we would have succeeded if Clout Marvel Heroes were waiting at the end of the tunnel. Though it breaks my heart to say it, it’s just not going to be, at least not for the foreseeable future. With no new product on the way and no budget for the events I’ve planned for Origins and Gen Con, the primary purpose of Clout Organized Play has disintegrated. It’s time to close up shop.

Starting immediately, no additional Clout tournament kits or support items will be shipped.

I will continue to process reports and award Venture Points until the end of April. I’ll do a final tally of points and let all Venture Team members know how many points they’ve achieved and how many spending points they have remaining. In addition, I’ll catch up with the award chips (CF Scout, Hunter, etc.) and all other obligations we’ve made to the Venture Team. This will be the last mass shipment of these items. Everyone will get all the awards and auction items due to them by the end of April. Venture Team members with more than 100 Venture Points will get special awards in the form of international promo chips.

For those of you with Venture Points to spend, I’ll continue to honor those requests for the remainder of 2007. You’ve earned those points, and I want to give you every opportunity to spend them!

Without a new expansion on the horizon, we felt it would be worse to string you all along and let Clout slowly wither away with substandard support than to wrap things up cleanly now and hope to maintain some goodwill with you folks, the fans and volunteers. If we ever manage to release Clout Marvel Heroes—or some other version of the game—down the road, I hope you’ll think well enough of us that you’ll be willing to give us another chance.

Thank you, and I’m sorry.
