No, I love Connery, Last Crusade was just so dumb!

johnny139
December 10th, 2010, 10:43 PM
Well of course it's dumb, but what makes it any dumber than the other Indiana Jones movies? They're based on serials of the 1930s; they're ridiculous globetrotting adventures.

I mean, if you try and argue that Crusade was dumber than Temple of Doom I'll have to challenge you to a duel or something. Because Temple of Doom was dumb, even by Indiana Jones standards.

I was looking through this thread for any pictures of Guy and couldn't find any. Anyone have any?

Also I noticed you guys want some Orange Lantern Constucts. I think these little guys (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.U.S.C.L.E) would be pretty good for that. (Don't know much about OLs and their constructs but they look like pretty good minis to use for Constructs)

Heh. Muscle Men. I remember Muscle Men. The picture belies the fact that they're really more pinkish than orange, though.

The new Guy? HERE (http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa155/elioblacknight/005-1.jpg) you go; along with Deadshot and a guy whose name I can never remember.

Also, the last three Limited Editions are announced; Troia, Impulse, and Icemaiden (http://wizkidsgames.com/blog/2010/12/13/three%e2%80%99s-company/). Nothing I'm too interested in, but... there you go.

That Guy probably wouldn't make a good GL Guy proxy unfortunately. :p But the Deadshot looks awesome. I saw that there was a Deadshot in the set, and was looking all over for pictures of him. Have to compare him to the old one, but regardless, I'm really looking forward to a Deadshot card. :p

I saw on here that they will be in the next X-Men release. I just hope that they didn't break the teams up though. I'd rather be able to design an entire team instead of just figures from various teams. I'm really torn as to if I want Archangel's or Wolverine's team though. I think Wolverine's would be fun because he had Hulk as War, but I love Archangel, especially his dak side as Death.

I got my DC75 yesterday - I had intended to wait until Christmas but the temptation was too great. Among my favorites are the Wonder Twins, Green Arrow, Red Lantern Guy Gardner (who is orange for some reason), and Atrocitus. I was also pleasantly surprised with White Lantern Wonder Woman - not my first choice WL (I wanted Superboy or Green Arrow) but she is still pretty sweet.
I can't wait to work on some new customs now: I have a Gorilla City squad for my Grodd, a Mera to work with my Aquaman, a Carol Ferris Star Sapphire to seduce my GL Hall Jordan, and a Mongul to torment my Superman.

Alright, it's been a bit since we've got news, but, new info on Giant-Sized X-Men.

The contents of the Super Boosters has been re-arranged a bit; each one will contain one colossal figure, and there are six in total. So far, we know of five: Apocalypse, Onslaught, Nemesis/Holocaust, and two type of Sentinels.

There were originally two more packs, one with X-Men "duo" figures, and one with the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. They've been bumped into the normal boosters, though, and will be distributed normally.

For the Horsemen, along with Nemesis as mentioned above, they've confirmed Wolverine-as-Death, Hulk-as-War, and Archangel-as-Death. That might be all of them, there might be another one or two. Who knows. I think a fourth is likely, though, so they can do their usual Common-Uncommon-Rare-Super Rare spread with groups like those.

In addition, Cyclops and Emma Frost are confirmed as commons. But that's not quite as interesting. :D

So it looks like Star Trek clix has both ships and characters:

Star Trek: Expeditions is a board game for up to four players, set in the "New Universe" of STAR TREK, as seen in the 2009 movie. It is built upon the cooperative board game model and the players will work together against the game itself.

In the game, players assume the roles of Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Uhura. The premise is the Federation has received a petition for membership from a planet and the Enterprise is dispatched to assess their application. When the Enterprise arrives, they discover:

- A Klingon Battle Cruiser is in orbit;
- Civil War is threatening to break out on the planet;
- And the planet is (coincidentally?) reconsidering its application for UFP membership.

Your mission is threefold; defuse the threat of Civil War, deal with the Klingon threat, and get the planet to join the UFP. And you only have 30 days (each day is a turn) to do it in, otherwise a Klingon battle fleet will warp in and you will be forced to withdraw (thus failing your mission).

Each objective is tracked on a scoresheet that monitors your progress. Decisions you make in the game as well as how you interact with the other players will affect the outcome of the mission.

The four figures will be fully rendered, 3D versions of the four Bridge officers. Unlike Heroclix, the character dials will turn based upon your needs in the game, and the decisions you make, not when you take damage.

This product is designed as a non-collectible, non-blind, all-in-one-and-done game, but is built upon the "expandable" board game model meaning that down the line, new missions and Crew Members will be made available for folk to play other "episodes"!

First up is MAGNETO (http://wizkidsgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Magneto_053.jpg). Not too interesting, since we've already seen him, but it's cool to get a real shot of his sculpt and a look at his rarity. Super Rare, of course. :grumble:
Heroscape wise, no. But in general, that's one of the coolest sculpts I've ever seen.

Not a bad sculpt, but a little too much going on for my taste. I'm happy with the one I've got. :-)
I agree. It's a nice 'shelf piece', but for playing, I prefer the current Magneto sculpt.

So, some new from Clix-a-thon...

GIANT-SIZED X-MEN
- Super Boosters will contain 7 figures; more than likely, one Colossal and six regular figures.
- The new Colossals will have swappable hands; one with a figure in them and one without. The example was a Sentinel holding a frozen Cannonball in his hand - so, it's pretty likely that the new HUGE Apocalypse will have interchangable hands, too... maybe we should be considering him for actual gameplay, eh?
- The scale is supposed to be PERFECT. Marvel sent in height charts and everything - Blob is bigger than Emma Frost, Hulk is bigger than the Blob, so on, so forth. In fact, quality in general is supposed to be much higher than previous sets.

NEW FIGURE LIST (Bolded New, Italics all-but-confirmed)
- Apocalypse (COLOSSAL)
- Archangel (Death)
- Armor
- Blob
- Cannonball
- The Captain
- Cyclops
- Elsa Bloodstone
- Emma Frost
- Gambit
- Hulk (War)
- Iceman
- Magneto
- Machine Man
- Mindless Ones
- Multiple Man
- Mystique
- Nemesis (COLOSSAL)
- Onslaught (COLOSSAL)
- Omega Sentinel
- Phoenix
- Sentinel (COLOSSAL)
- Sentinel Mk V (COLOSSAL)
- Storm
- Stryfe
- Wolverine (Death)
- Colossus/Wolverine Duo

STREET FIGHTER CLIX
- Release date in August 2011.
- Very dynamic sculpts; most figures performing game moves (E. Honda with that thousand fist thing, Ken doing a shoryuken, so on, so forth)

NEW FIGURE LIST
- Akuma
- Balrog
- Blanka
- Cammy
- Chun Li
- Evil Ryu
- Dhalsim
- E. Honda
- Fei Long
- Guile
- Ken
- M. Bison
- Ryu
- Sagat
- Vega
- Zangief

Interesting list.
I bought a blind booster the other day for DC's 75th since I hadn't bought any of the figs ala carte yet and I pulled what I wanted most from the set - Larfleeze! :-D
I also got Alan Scott, some dude named Dominator (no clue), Queen Apa'go, and Donna Troy (who, like Alan Scott, I already had another mini for).

Yup, it's one of their "classic cover" Super Rares. I believe Alan Scott is based off his first appearance in All-American Comics.

First of all, congratz on a Super Rare and a Rare in the same pack! :woot: See? Buying boosters isn't a bad thing...

Dominators are a race of aliens that are very organized by Caste. IN the set is another figure named Ruling-Caste Dominator. i.e. these are commons.

There is no WL Alan :(, probably because he's not in the Corps and therefore wasn't in the light war?

I'm pretty sure Alan was decked in white at some point in the comics ... and everybody in the DCU was involved in Blackest Night/Brightest Day somehow.
Cool that he's a super rare. Now to figure out whether to hold on to him or to try to trade him for other stuff I want since I have another Alan Scott ... hmm ...

I know the names says "Comics", but the aesthetic of most people seems to really prefer "Superheroes" instead. That's nothing official, but the group tends to lean that way. Just recently I drafted Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) and some heroes were concerned by that, even though she's been in comics for years. So I'm guessing Street Fighter characters wouldn't be accepted by everyone.

WIZKIDS TAKES OVER MIDDLE EARTH

WITH NEW "THE LORD OF THE RINGS" GAME RELEASES

(January 18, 2011-Hillside NJ) - Wizkids announced today the addition of "The Lord of the Rings" property to their 2011 HeroClix release schedule through a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. The first products of the new "The Lord of the Rings" line will be a HeroClix miniatures game followed by a HeroClix strategic board game, both of which will release in the back half of 2011.

"The Lord of the Rings" HeroClix miniatures game will be sold in two different packages: a campaign style box set and the traditional booster format. The all-in-one campaign style box set will include everything a player needs, including NEW epic level rules and maps. The booster format includes the figures, similar to other previous HeroClix releases. With whichever format chosen, all of the twenty or more figures will be compatible with other HeroClix miniatures games.

The second release is a unique semi cooperative HeroClix board game, following in the similar format of our other HeroClix board game products. HeroClix figures, a gameboard and several decks of cards provide all the components needed to play this unique take on "The Lord of the Rings" story. The fun twist in the game is that players get to play as the Nazgul working with and against other Nazgul trying to capture the One Ring before it reaches Mount Doom.

Find us on the web at www.WizKidsGames.com/lotr (http://wizkidsgames.com/lotr) or friend us on Facebook at Facebook.com/Wizkids (http://www.facebook.com/wizkids) to see the latest developments from WizKids as they happen!

And another unit - OMEGA PRIME SENTINEL (http://wizkidsgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/omega_prime_sentinal_003.jpg)!

I'd say it's almost certain we'll be getting a repaint into Karima Shapandar, or you could just use this one since it looks JUST like her, which is awesome, 'cause I'd love to make a custom of her. I even have a loose draft written up!

johnny139
January 21st, 2011, 12:16 PM
Well, the Omega Prime Sentinels were humans that were outfitted into cyborgs to act as human Sentinel sleeper agents - they'd take someone, turn them into a Sentinel, and whenever a nearby mutant's powers activated it would "turn on" the Omega Prime Sentinel programming and they'd eliminate the target.

Karima Shapandar was one of them, but she had her Sentinel instincts taken out and joined the X-Men. I think she's in a coma or something now, but, it's a really cool concept; a Sentinel that fights on the side of the X-Men.

1-16 will probably be fifty cents or so. 17-32 will be a dollar, maybe two. 33-45 (or so, I'm not really sure with the Rares/Super Rares this time around) up to five bucks... and anything past that over could be up to sixty, so, yeah, good luck there.

So the Horsemen? Yeah, you'll be spending a PRETTY PENNY for those babies.

Lately, most of the LE tournament prize figures have been different paint jobs on those more common figures. I think a Red Phoenix; a diamond version of Emma Frost; different costumed versions of Cannonball, Cypher, and the other Hellions; and possible a X-Force version of Domino.

So far, there's confirmed (kinda, through firsthand reports) repaints of Phoenix in her green costume and Archangel with a normal face. If they're LEs or not, well, we don't know.

Most people are pretty sure of diamond Emma, too - or POSSIBLY her in her black Dark X-Men costume.

Ooh, Street Fighter Clix news!

There'll be 24 figures total, released in single-distribution blind boxes. So, for $3, you get one figure. Which seems a bit steep, but the sculpts are supposed to be GORGEOUS, so, I think that's a fair trade.

So, with the following confirmed:

Akuma
Balrog
Blanka
Cammy
Chun Li
Evil Ryu
Dhalsim
E. Honda
Fei Long
Guile
Ken
M. Bison
Ryu
Sagat
Vega
Zangief

We can probably assume they'll round out Super Street Fighter II, so, T. Hawk and Dee Jay. That leaves six empty slots, which just so happen to be the cast introduced in Street Fighter IV - C. Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, Rufus, Gouken, and Seth. So I'd say that's a PRETTY likely spread... but the last six are definite "maybes."

An interview with Justin Ziran (seen HERE (http://icv2.com/articles/news/19264.html)) has confirmed the following:

2011 will have a Green Lantern and a Captain America release of some kind (either a full set or an action pack or a starter or something).
The Classics line (reprinting old units in non-blind packages) will continue, but will be tweaked.
Star Trek will be out in June. Expeditions will be a small board game with 6 figures of the Crew, while Fleet Battles will be, well, Fleet Battles, with 12 Federation and 12 Klingon ships. A few other new board game releases (like Lord of the Rings) are also mentioned.
A new videogame-themed ActionClix (not Street Fighter) is currently being developed.

Look at that! Hal, Kilowog, Abin Sur, Ganthet, Green Lantern Sinestro, and Tomar-Re! All for about $16! I mean, I'm not too enthused about them being the movie versions... but outside of Kilowog, it's no biggie.

HeroClix made an official announcement, not only of the Fast Forces pack (see that HERE (http://heroclix.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/DC-GLMovie-6packsheet.jpg); blow-ups of the digital sculpts) but of some single-figure boosters, which contain the six figures from the starter along with Salaak, Boodikka, R'Amey Holl, and Hal in a flight suit. You can see that one HERE (http://heroclix.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/DC-GLMovie-sheet2.jpg).

So there's Bucky Cap, Red Skull, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Klaw, Sin, generic HYDRA Agent and Howling Commando and SHIELD Specialist and SHIELD Agent! Good stuff there for sure.

He-ho! I like it!

I'll hopefully be picking up some single Hydra Agents from that. They are the only unit I don't have anything for.

I like that Nick Fury. Hope he isn't super rare or expensive. :)

Well, the rarities are all the same in the single-figure boosters (I think) so, he should probably be about $3 give or take; all of them should be.

Hah, I just did a trade for Ultimate Nick Fury. Oh well, I like him better anyway. :p

I have lots of HYDRA Agents already. :-) Maybe I'll pick up a single to have a different sculpt for Bob, though ...

No wonder I can't find them ANYWHERE.

HYDRA have turned into one of my favorite factions. :-)

Today's preview? SENTINEL: MARK II (http://wizkidsgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Sentinel_Mark_II.jpg)! (Be aware that, like with the other big figures, he comes with an extra hand that you can swap the captured Wolverine one out for.) HERE (http://wizkidsgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Sentinel_05_copy.jpg) is what he looks like "vanilla," and HERE (http://wizkidsgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Sentinel_03_copy.jpg) is a size comparison. About... Huge 15 in HeroScape standards, would you say?

Now that just looks awesome. They'll be far more plentiful (and hopefully cheaper) than the older Sentinels, so I'll finally be able to scoop some up. :D

Looks like it comes with a nice base too!

Yeah, if those aren't too bad in price, I could definitely grab some of those! :-)

:word: Hopefully this will inspire someone to create a new type of sentinel for us too.

And after all that effort involved in rebasing the original Sentinel, too... ;)

And today we have two new previews: MONICA RAMBEAU (http://wizkidsgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Monica_Rambeau_029.jpg) and TABITHA SMITH (http://wizkidsgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Tabitha_Smith_015.jpg), the two ladies from Nextwave. I REALLY like Tabitha's sculpt; great detail by the standards we've seen thusfar, and on a Common to boot.

And that is where "Nextwave joins the fight!" comes from! Thank you.

EDIT: What's with the "embarrasing first appearence" on the cards?

EDIT: What's with the "embarrasing first appearence" on the cards?

It's the "real" first appearance as superheroes vs. their appearance in Nextwave. Monica Rambeau, for example, was Captain Marvel long before she appeared in Nextwave.

So, we've got these pictures in a recent magazine:

That's Deadpool and Cable as a duo (and it looks like an easily scalpable one, which is good), along with Phoenix next to Apocalypse... is she a Colossal? That's what it seems to imply, but, who knows.

Man, I'd love for that Cable/Deadpool duo to be cheap. Those are two great looking figures...

Don't hold your breath, bud... Deadpool + Super Rare or possibly even Chase = $30 at least.

Anyways, the next big set (it's assumed, at least) after Giant-Sized X-Men is confirmed as... Superman! So, yeah, that's good. Maybe we'll get a good looking Zod at last! And maybe even Jimmy Olsen... or Red Son Superman...
