Shine on you crazy diamond. Show them Dakotas what for. :D
On the other hand, I made a great television find the other day. I was watching TV the otehr morning, and I switched to this odd channel I'd never watched before. The channel is called The Hub. And to my suprise, on that channel was none other than the original, 1960s Batman TV series! I put it on season's pass, as there seems to be an episode every day. It's quite funny and cool at the same time. The shows are on a different times, sometime's 11:30PM, sometimes 3AM, and other time 7AM (EST). So I recommend the show, and I also recommend recording some episodes if you don't like being up at 3AM.
Oh man, you haven't been watching the Hub!? They've got Batman Beyond reruns! And new G.I. Joe and Transformers serieses! And Doogie Howser and the Wonder Years! AND MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC! Can't go wrong with that. You guys gotta watch more cartoons, I swear. :p

Well to those who still consider me a friend thank you for all your support. It is a sad occasion that I feel compelled to resign from the C3G. Unlike others I have more respect for people & will not go into details but if you ever find yourself in the inner sanctum & wish to really know what happened review the voting thread. I am disgusted by the behaviour & dis-respect of others in the group.

The wife and I took the kids to see the movie Hop yesterday. It was fun for the kids and the adults got some laughs too and both the wife and I liked it better than Rango, more fun.
Anyway, a cool thing about it was that voice of the main character E.B. (the bunny) was Australian and he kept reminding me of A3n and Whitestuff throughout the movie. I've never spoken to Whitestuff, but have spoken to A3n on Skype, so he's the main reference for me. That made the movie extra fun for me I guess. :)

Thought I'd post my thoughts on the Badger-C3G Doom Debate here... please nobody take offense as none is intended:
Badger: You got the bum shaft a little bit in the way you were treated, and your points on constructive criticism are perfectly valid. I can appreciate why you don't think Doom is a good representation, and you are every bit within your right to think so. That being said, I think it might be prudent to observe the unofficial custom rule: "You can argue mechanics, but you can't knock the theme the custom creator chooses". Ultimately it is their custom, and their interpretation of the character is ultimately theirs to finalize. I think it's easy to hold these guys to lofty standards (in part because they themselves do), but keep in mind they get nothing for their time and efforts other than our praise. So I guess if you have a problem with a custom, it would be nice if you spent as much time praising their work as you do pointing out its perceived flaws (and honestly you seem pretty intent on pointing out Doom's "flaws"). It's also worth noting that many of the group has already burned out or moved on, and maybe would should cut the remaining guys a little slack in this time of transition.
C3G: I think the message (and point of pride) to take from this whole conversation is just what your customs have become to this community... the "New Official" product! Thanks so much guys, and thanks Badger for your observations, and let's Game On!

Nice post Margloth :D
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Margloth again.A general comment and not Doomgate specific. If a person is going to critique the work of others, it helps to also add some positive feedback as well if you are going to offer negative feedback. If a person doesn't find anything at all positive to say, then perhaps they should just ignore the work altogether and move along. Making only negative comments serves no purpose but to agitate. This isn't directed toward Badger (so don't take it that way), but to everyone.
I don't personally think there is anything wrong with discussing a design in that design's Book Of. The official stuff gets praised or slammed in their books, so why not with C3G Books? As long as the discussion remains civilized and doesn't stray from the discussion of the Books Of design, then there should be no problem.
Replying to negative criticism should be done in mature and civilized manner IMO. There really isn't any reason to get personal or condescending towards others. Nobody likes to hear their hard work (and I mean hard work and sacrificing of personal time) criticized, but it is part of the deal, as long as it too is done in a mature and civilized manner.
As with anything, people tend to remember the negative more than the positive. There could be 100 great comments but it's the 1 or 2 negative ones that will stick in people's craw. In my book, that kind of ratio of positive to negative is about as successful as you can get.
Part of what made Heroscapers such a great site to come to when I first joined nearly 5 years ago, was that it was different than many forums, in that Truth didn't put up with people being mean or hostile toward others. There was a standard of behavior that has been upheld for the most part, with some exceptions along the way, but for the most part, Heroscapers has been a great place for people to come and enjoy their hobby or whatever else they enjoy about this wonderful site/resource. We should encourage those standards of behavior that have made this place great, because people won't stay long in a negative environment.
Just :2cents: from someone who has been around here longer than most and wants to help keep it a great place to visit. :D

Well said, guys. I subscribe to the theory that we should always put our efforts towards being uplifting when we get a chance. It takes the same amount of effort to be a positive force as it does to be a negative one, so why not go the positive route?
Obviously, this is something that's always a work in progress in my own life, but I do try. :-)

I will just remind you that when I originally posted, I commented on 3 figures. 2 got completely positive reviews, including one that was going to replace one of my own custom cards on my playing board. A third got a generally positive review, though I didn't think one power was a very good fit. Doom was the only one I didn't like.
Bottom line is that I posted 3 of 4 positive reviews. It was only the negative one that was focused on.

Yes and that's why I said that my comment wasn't directed at you. The Doom discussion was the impetus for me to make my comments. I realize that you had made some positive comments, so that's why I wanted to make it clear that it wasn't directed at you. My comments were meant to be directed to everyone in the community. I just wanted to emphasize that this site is a more pleasant place to visit when a certain standard of behavior is expected and upheld. A small part of that was in regards to people (everyone) not only commenting negatively to something without having something good to say too. This can be with superhero designs, custom terrain, artwork, fan fiction or whatever.
The main gist of my post was to express my desire for members of the site to respect one another. It's a healthier environment when people can show respect, maturity and humility when interacting with others.

Star Trek will be awesome as the first one was!

I hope I've come to the right place. IamBatman suggested I post this in the Discussion Cave.
This is my proposal for an additional rule for equipment glyphs. It came about in response to the design for the Glyph of Hypnotic Hat used by the Mad Hatter, but I think it could be a fun new aspect to the C3G game.
After moving a Unique Hero figure you control, instead of attacking you may announce that the figure is attempting to remove an Equipment Glyph from an adjacent figure. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll an 8 or higher, place the Equipment Glyph on the card of the figure you used this turn, or on an adjacent empty space. If you have the Super Strength special power add 5 to your roll. If the chosen figure has Super Strength subtract 5 from your roll.
In a normal game, it could be fun to grab items from opponents, but in a game with the Mad Hatter, it gives a way for the Hypnotic Hats to be removed without having to wound (or potentially kill!) your own figures. To remove a hat, you'd still have to miss your attack for that turn and there's a chance your attempt to remove it won't work.
Does anyone like this idea?
Cheers
Steve

I was thinking of Annihilus and Mad Hatter but actually their powers would supersede this rule. Objection withdrawn!
However, it's still pretty niche. Most of the time I'd rather just attack.

I think equipment glyph mechanics are very similar to destructible object mechanics. If you want something thematic, you could probably do it, but you're going to need pages and pages of rules and set-up. This mechanic, while completely thematic, hurts the playability of the equipment glyphs, in my opinion. It's not necessary and thus just adds more rules to the game. There's already a mechanic you can use to force an equipment glyph off of a figure. That's enough.

I agree, Balantai. In addition, it propels a guy like Shadow Thief from already niche status, to extremely niche status.
I'd be in favor of leaving equipment glyph stealing to the thieves. If anyone else wants to do it, they already have a way to - by wounding the figure holding the glyph.

Yeah, it occured to me last night that Shadow Thief would play a good counter draft to Mad Hatter (even if you had to sacrifice control of him to get one of your other heroes back).

Thanks, I do like to reread them periodically. I was wondering about this specifically for Mad Hatter though. If a Hero with a hat wanted to get rid of it (and he still had order markers), he could take falling damage or try to get engagement damage to lose the glyph.

Alright, let's see my predictions...
INJUSTICE FOR ALL
Lex Luthor (Battlesuit)
Professor Zoom
Gorilla Grodd
Chronos
Doctor Light
Saw that one coming. :D
ENEMIES OF THE AVENGERS
Kang
Ultron
Graviton
Loki
Mandarin + Power Rings
This one was super close, too; I just didn't expect Absorbing Man in the mix. I'd call it a success overall. I'm glad that Absorbing Man is getting a release this wave, though, 'cause he was a really fun unit.
HAIL HYDRA
Red Skull + Cosmic Cube
Baron von Strucker
Madame HYDRA
???
???
And I ended up getting one of my three predictions right! I kinda figured MODOK would get lumped in with HYDRA since we don't have much in the way of AIM at the moment, but I didn't imagine we'd see Mandarin in with these guys, though; he's not really the type that associates himself with other villains much. But, he does have his own international criminal syndicate, so I can see the logic behind that.
I think that is the wrong Loki figure, and I know its the wrong Red Skull, Mandarin, Absorbing Man, and Grodd.

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts guys.
I was working downtown Raleigh where it got hit the worst, and a tornado ripped through at the Harley Davidson show case event where I was working. It busted the huge front glass (thankfully everyone had enough sense to move away from the windows already) then there was a huge gas leak and we had to evacuate into the streets. I hurried to my inlaw's house with wife and 3 kids, and powerlines and signs were falling over on the way. We got there safely and after being there for about 4 minutes, we heard the tornado coming so we all jumped in the closet and bathroom in the center of the house - that is when I looked out the door and out the back window and saw the tornado pulling my father inlaw's garage and roof off the freaking house! It was an absolute nightmare folks. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Afterwards, we drove around the neighborhood and saw millions of dollars of damage of destroyed homes, cars, property, and powerlines, and the worst was one of our power towers was laying in the street. We were able to see the path of a devastating tornado that ended right at our house, and thankfully it never touched down - if it had, it would have killed hundreds of people, including us.
I am now just waiting for them to call so we can go over there and start helping out with the cleaning up.

Having lived through both a Tornado and a Hurricane, I know Mother Nature has a temper. I am SOOOO glad to hear you and your family are doing well. I will keep you, your family, and those affected in my prayers.

I actually have some idea for Mr. Freeze, too, but they're pretty loose. He'd trap people in glaciers, that's the basic outline.
Anyways, things are really gearing up at DC Animation - All-Star Superman was released recently, and their next DTVs are as follows:
Batman: Year One
Justice League: Doom (based on the Tower of Babel)
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
HERE (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/batman-year-one-lines-up-179942) is an article I was just reading on Year One. With pictures! Looking pretty good. I'm wary about the other two if only because I don't really like the source material, but, we'll see.

I saw that figure online, but didn't have him. I didn't know if the head was going to be large enough proportionally for the Batman body I wanted to use. (I used a Batman with a broken ear tip). So I used Rasputin instead. Plus, Rasputin has a beard where as sivana doesn't. Once I get done painting and adding some mounds for glasses, I will get a picture up so you can see, but it might be a while, I'm gearing up for finals right now.

I just finished watching episode 18 of Smallville, what an absolutely brilliant episode with Booster Gold & Blue Beetle. Both roles were perfectly adapted & spot-on. I hate that the show has had to come so far to the end of it's life before they made it this outstanding. I suppose the fact that Geoff Johns wrote the episode had nothing to do with how great Booster Gold was as a character :D. This was definitely one of my favourite episodes & it's bitter-sweet that the end is so nigh.

Yes, the show has come a very long way, and these last few episodes are gonna be very bitter sweet. I know most people are really hoping that the producers live up to their promise of Clark putting on the suit and flying on the last episode, and that would be great, but I am hoping that Lex returns even more. I want Lex to return with some super criminals only to be stopped by Superman and the Justice League. That would be an amazing way to end it. :D

I've had the same problem; I have some great ideas for Kaldur'ahm but there just ain't no mini. I'm sure you could mod one together (I'm thinking Gotham City Detective as the head?), but personally I'm just waiting until HeroClix releases one - Young Justice seems popular enough, so, it's only a matter of time. Lesser shows have gotten greater tie-ins.

And I can second this, too. I think I prefer the Avengers by a smidgen (and The Brave and The Bold by a mile), but Young Justice is definitely one of the best cartoons on TV. But with Greg Weisman at the helm, well, how can it NOT be?

I know things get tough Karat, GOD knows I know, but chin up - you are living in the land of opportunity. We are gonna make it here man. Just some practical advice fwiw; when you are on a tight budget, buy some HUGE bags of dry beans, rice, and spices.... then get creative. :D It is really good food and it is really cheap. I had rice for dinner tonight with some season salt and cayenne pepper. :mmmm: good.

You could hunt small game like doves, rabbits, squirrel, turkey, etc. All good eats IMO. Oh, and Japanese noodles are cheap and delicious. :D

I've been reading Batman: Batman and Son. I liked it.
