Right now. I pulled one from my brick, along with a WL Hal Jordan (ARV=$55), and 3 other Super-Rares. :p
I traded Wonder Woman on Horseback and my WL Hal for Super-Rare Doomsday (he's a big guy, with a sick Superman flag, ripped over a post), Super-Rare Batman (depicting a scene, Batman with suprisingly pointy ears swings through the sky, holding a man in his arm), and some lanterns I was missing. Good deal IMO.

Well a croc was sited in the PCYC (Police Citizens Youth Club) park that is a bike park for kids to learn to ride. Normally this is nowhere near the water but now kids could probably learn to drive boats there if they wanted to :p. So kinda yeah, but the areas are blocked off though due to there being water there when there shouldn't be.

Do any of you have extra clix you haven't rebased (or removed the dial from)? I have found that trading 'clix on HCrealms.com is a great way to acquire hard-to-find figures. I have gotten trade offers for figures I don't really want, and they've included Kilowog, Colossus, tons of old figures (the ones with the dial under the base, essentially worth less), and some other hard-to-find figures. You never know what you'll end up with.

There's a pretty good chance I'll get the game at some point. I want to give it a bit more time and read the reviews. I've been playing World of Warcraft for 3 years now so I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to MMO's. But I can see suspending my WoW subscription to give this game a try. If you do get the game, start a DCUO thread in the game section and post what server you play on. It'd be nice if all of Heroscapers played on the same server.

Pandemic is amazing, but I don't have the expansion yet. Citadels is great, and Guillotine is hilarious. I've played one version of Ticket to Ride a while back, and liked it, but I usually prefer Railroad Tycoon.

The wifey really wanted this version of Ticket to Ride. She's very excited about it. Have never played Ninja vs. Ninja - that one's on spec. I've played the Pandemic expansion and absolutely love it. Propelled that game from a top ten to a top five for me. Guillotine is pretty funny, yeah, and Citadels will get a lot of play here.
Also, I recently introduced my mom to San Juan, so I don't mind having a few games I can take home next Christmas that she might go for, like Citadels, Guillotine, and Ticket to Ride. She might even go for Pandemic. Seriously, Pandemic is awesome.

No story, nothing like that. They just take an extreme amount of time and work that people have no idea. We already have a ton of stuff to do behind the scenes normally, but Master Sets really push things to the limit. As it is, I'm going to be scaling back my time spent for C3G as I've sacrificed a ton of other interests over the past year and a half to make this the focus of much of my free time. I've lost too much sleep and at times (depending on workload that I choose to take on) get bitter toward the project. I don't want to be bitter, and have to set my own pace for involvement as my own passion for the project and need to please have driven me at times to over extend myself with some cost.

It sounds like a lot of work, I hope you didn't take that I wanted a new Master Set. That was just an off handed suggestion that Lanterns might make a cool Master Set.
Edit: We are grateful for all the time you have put in Hahma, but I would hate for you to get burned out. Like you said, set yourself a comfortable pace as you are the only one who can control that. I would hate to see any of the current Heroes get tired of the project. It just wouldn't be the same without you guys here.

Thanks for the concern Quozl. Like I said, for my own well being, I need to place self-imposed restrictions on what I do from here on out. Having the Fan Four set done (soon) though, and instituting a few changes after it, as well as the growing Art Department and the return of some initial playtesters to help out Hahma will all aid in lessening the pressure any of us have to bear individually, though.
I know I'm good for another five years here minimum, unless all the fun people to collaborate with quit. :-P

I have a question for the Art Dept. guys (or anyone else that might know a bit about how Acrobat interacts with printers).
Occasionally when I print out my C3G cards they print with a ~2"x2" black square at the bottom of the page. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it on my end. I always print from .pdf files saved to my computer, opened with acrobat reader, and I use my saved C3G print settings.
Just today I did Green Arrow (Conner), Hydra Agents, Shadow Thief, and Bullseye (all comic art), and for some reason Bullseye printed with a big black square at the bottom. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? And has this happened to anyone else?

Regarding Grimnak: See there LP, your comment shows that you don't understand some of the differences between Superhero Scape and Valhalla Scape.
Seige is 120 points, Superman is 400 points. Big difference there my friend. Also regarding "picking big guys is a gamble", well that's the thing, who are the higher pointed units in Valhalla? Large and Huge figures. Who can't the Recchets or Grimnak Chomp? Large and Huge figures. But in Superhero Scape, the vast majority of the figures are medium, so a 25 point unit and a 430 point unit can be affected by Chomp, Lethal Sting, Maul etc. The original designers of the game balanced those insta-killers and defense negating units by not allowing them to affect the most expensive units in the game. That is pretty obvious and a pretty huge difference IMO. If you can send Rechets against Darkseid, all they have to do is roll 2 skulls because his Imposing Presence power reduces adjacent attackers attack by one. Sure you can say kill Iskra real easy like to avoid that. Well not to many people are going to be dumb enough to lead with Iskra to allow that, they will send out meat shields or other heavy hitters to occupy the opponent and then send out Iskra. But aside from that, my main point is that the original designers clearly balanced such devastating powers by not allowing them to affect the most expensive units in the game.
Now if the Kree end up being Soldiers, if you want to playtest with Marcus and do 50 playtests with a variety of Valhalla and mixing builds to make sure they are balanced or close to it for mixing, go right ahead. But it won't affect their cost, because if they are priced according to playing with Marcus, then they will be undraftable for C3G purposes and a big waste of our time. If a C3G unit isn't priced based on draftabilty in C3G armies, then they will never pass to final release. Pure and simple.
No, no, I DO understand, I'm just saying that having Siege chomped is no more fun than having Superman chomped. :p
I know you all don't like the big guys being smooshed by instakills, but if we're really worried about about balance at a tournament level (I'm just saying that, since we're all agreed that mixing is great for casual games, so the tournament level is the only real option we're talking about), then think about it. Instakillers need a roll of 19-20 to kill a unit. Looking at statistics, for 5 games in a normal tournament, that 19-20 roll is half a game. The rest of the time they'll be smooshed. (Okay, okay, maybe my math is off.... :p ).
The rechets are nasty, though. Some C3G stuff is going to be a little overpowered against Valhalla, but the rechets are pretty much the only ones that are overpowered against C3G. :reapershrug: Grab some SHIELD agents with Darkseid, and put them around Darkseid to protect him while killing the rechets. Your opponent is placing all their chips on these little guys, who are pretty much proven to not be that great anyway.
I don't know if the Kree will be overpowered with Marcus. They haven't been tested. You said you think they might be, so I think they should be tested. I don't think they'll be incredibly far off, however. And besides, pricing in C3G Scape is generally not as important, at least I've found. This guy costs a lot, this guy costs a little, let's go hit each other. :p Valhalla is a little tighter, since the point costs are a lot closer. I just think that if they're priced according to Marcus, then they'd still be fine according to C3G stuff.
I'm trying to keep this civil, I'm not mad or anything, just trying to get my point across. (And I think Kree Soldiers sounds better, anyway :p )

Sudema's a 20, I'm pretty sure (I don't have her), and Grimnak is the only exception. Grimnak's always been good, but he's also extremely slow, and his defense is not nearly enough for C3G battles. he's totally based on luck, and raw stats 90% of the time win out.
I don't see a problem with making it compatible, and saying use instakillers at your own risk.
If someone makes an army based on instakillers, it's a gamble, that's my point. They'll do just as well against C3G as they would Valhalla. But C3G games usually have more points, so if you scale upwards, losing Superman isn't that much worse than losing Siege. And it's something awesome to talk about afterward.

Sudema kills on a 17.
Grimnak on a 16.
Rechets on 3 skulls (2 against Darkseid).
Braxas on a 17.
Dead eye Dan on a 19 or 20 for a mere investment of 60 points.
With Sonya around, Cyprien gives 6 wounds on a roll of 18.
Deathwalker 7000 can kill just about any human, including Green Lanterns, or Magneto, on a roll of 16. On a roll of 20, he can take out Superman and Darkseid and Thor.
Raelin's would not be a good thing to mix with most of our units ...
For only 130 points, Kee-Mo-Shi can repossess your 400 point figure on a roll of 19.
Ne-Gok-Sa does it on a 20 for only 90 points.
For only 100 points, Morsbane can negate your 400 point figure on a 16 or destroy them on a 20.
Runa, at 120 points, requires a 20 to destroy, but can roll for anyone within 3 spaces.
The Shades give you a squad's worth of chances to repossess someone's 400 point figure on a 19 or 20.
Any four member common squad will just about always own 300+ point heroes through attrition, given equal numbers. This isn't untrue for C3G squaddies, but they are, by and large, made to work with unique heroes more than against them (this was a design choice).
Super Strength is not represented on Valhalla cards nor are any synergies with it.
In short, Valhallascape is made as two things: a really streaky game based on some crazy D20 based luck and a common squad dominated grindhouse. These two things do not match the current aesthetic of C3G which is based more on dependable, tactical end game decisions that allow you to draft figures with crazy high costs without feeling like you're taking a huge gamble every time.
Throwing these figures against Deadeye Dan and a couple of squads of Gladiatrons (who, together, would own them every time) doesn't really float my boat or seem like fun to me.

January 19th, 2011, 12:09 AM
Yeah, I'm kind of getting your points there. But I still think Vigilantes or Crime lords against some major Valhalla stuff is incredibly fun, since their prices are close. ;)
Even if we don't think they're very compatible, why can't we just look at potential synergies? It'd take a game or two, and see if it's really broken or not. And it'd probably be easy to fix, anyway. I just don't like purposefully throwing things out of proportion. If points on other units are a bit off, well, that happens. But if we do something that gives all soldiers +2 attack, then that's obviously really overpowered in Valhalla.
I'm just asking for a test on the Kree guys with Marcus, and to see how balanced they are together. :p They might turn out to be fine, anyway, we don't know until they're tested. :p
IAmBatman

And some testing with Valhalla is fine ... but the problem comes when you expect the design to be "fixed" to match Valhalla. That's the part that's not going to happen and, honestly, isn't a fair expectation.

Well, like I said before, I think that something being balanced in Valhalla wouldn't unbalance it in C3G, just by the nature of the games. The reverse isn't true, but this way it should be.

That's my point. Since C3G is "ramped up," then by nature that which is balanced in Valhalla would be fine in C3G.
If the Kree are really powerful with Marcus, why not raise their cost? In C3G a slight point raise won't matter a whole lot, since costs are in a 400 point range (Excluding Anti-Moniter, who just ruins this point. :) ). It'd be then fine with both Valhalla and C3G. And Green Lantern can just fly over the Kree and shoot Marcus anyway, which screws everything up. :p

If they don't have that synergy in C3G, they're then an overcosted, undesirable draft pick in C3G.
And I think I just put up a whole list earlier of stuff that's balanced in Valhalla but far from "fine" in C3G.

Like I said, I don't think them being slightly overcosted would be bad in C3G. If they need a point raise in Valhalla, they could be tested as such in C3G, also, to see if they'd be really undercosted.

At this point, I've come to realize that mixed games are by nature unbalanced and some armies will dominate others. Even if Marcus + Kree Soldiers is unbalanced in mixed games... well, who cares? It's beatable for sure. Pairing Marcus with the 4th is probably a better choice anyways.
I mean, I doubt C3G will ever design a unit that is UNBEATABLE in mixed games, and honestly, that's just about all I can hope for. No need to sweat it, y'know?

LP, if one of the main creators of Scape says that Marvel and Classic weren't meant to be combined, and we base our stuff off Marvel, why should we worry about Classic? I used to agree with you about mixing them, but as we have gotten more units, I tend to mix less and less, and in fact just ran my first playtest without any classic, my poor Stingers are feeling betrayed right now. The two branches just don't mix that well, and I really don't see why we should concern ourselves with how our units interact in classic. I could honestly see a good argument for removing the classic synergy lists from our Books of, but at the same time I think it's a nice thing to have there for those who do mix. Sorry, I'm just tired of this old argument that never goes anywhere, those who belive they shouldn't be mixed will probably never change thier minds, and those in favor of mixing hardly ever change sides.

And Green Lantern can just fly over the Kree and shoot Marcus anyway, which screws everything up. :p
But squads don't cost 400 points. So if you bump Kree to 100 to balance in Valhalla but they were fine at 90 vs. C3G units, then they would be overpriced for C3G. Squads are used in multiples, so 3 times that 10 point difference is 30 points more that same squad of Kree is going to cost you in a game of C3G only units. That 30 points is going to cost you somewhere else, so instead of getting Green Goblin at 230 points, you can get Batman (Bruce) at 200. Or, you might just say forget the Kree altogether, instead of spending 300 points on 3 squads of them, I'll spend 255 on 3 squads of Hand Ninja and use the extra 45 points toward Bullseye or Elektra. And as more and more squad units come out for C3G that wouldn't be priced based on synergies with Valhalla, the more likely that the Kree will be overlooked and sit in people's storage bins because there will be better options out there. Now for people that mix, it won't matter because they will get an extra squad unit to use and that have to be drafted with Marcus or they wouldn't be worth their points even in mixing games. So basically we at C3G designed a niche unit that will only be maximized for their cost when used in mixing and when drafted with Marcus. That's not really what we're trying to accomplish here though.
Here's an idea though. Instead of C3G catering to players that like to mix, why don't those players create a thread with cost conversions for certain units that they feel would be overpowered when mixing. That way if we release the Kree at 90 points when balanced for C3G units, you guys can have a conversion for them in that thread to say maybe 100 points. Or people that mix can house rule against using units that they feel are over powered or under priced for mixing games. I think the onus to make those adjustments should be on the people concerned with mixing, rather than to be put on the group that is designing them for the purpose of being used exclusively with C3G units/marvel.
The only reason we ever playtested with classic units to begin with was because we didn't have enough Marvel variety to use, and certainly no squads. The intention however was to gradually steer away from testing with classic units as we got more and more C3G units to test with. Now that we have been releasing some squads, that's even more independent we've become of the classic dependence, and that was the intention.

I just got over it, and we have to continue?! UGH!!! ;)
I don't mix very often, but I have a blast whenever I do, so I think that it should be supported. Granted, I usually do Vigilantes or Criminals against classic, whose points are very similar, which make for great games (Why do you think all of my designs are generally really low costed? ;) I like to design what I, myself, find most fun to play!).
So yeah, let's just go discuss something else before I get all stubborn again. ;)

I think that the meaty, classic, pre-D&D Uniques mix perfectly with C3G, barring insta-kills. I mean, Swarm of the Marro's Sgt. Drake makes for a pretty awesome unit in C3G, I've learned; he's pretty much Spider-Man with a meatier normal attack, honestly. The Ninjas are tons of fun in general. Sir Denrick makes for a pretty good Sentinel slayer if you can sneak him in.
It's the squads that really kill things. Squads are unbalancing, PERIOD, in C3G or Valhalla. Three squads of 4th are better than Jotun without a doubt. And as D&D comes along, things sort of shift to combat that. By then heroes are swarm-centric and anti-squad. Like the Fen Hydra - in my Electro Playtest, he was WAY better than the average hero. Therein lies the problem.
So when you mix, you have to mix responsibly. If you're opponent has a lot of big-name heroes, don't be a jerk and grab Deadeye Dan. An army with eight squads of Stingers isn't fun for anyone. Are you really going to make an army with Wolverine, Deadpool, and twelve pairs of Death Knights?

Vahallascape is in and of itself unbalanced. Squads, in general, are undercosted. I don't see this occuring in C3G. For that reason alone, I much prefer that C3G is playtested within C3G figures. It helps keep that unbalanced nature that naturally exists in Vahallascape out of C3G.

Bane and Catwoman... Catwoman is a no brainer, but Bane, that could really rock it. Get him a bit closer to "normal" and you have a bruiser AND a mob boss, which covers pretty much all the bases. Plus, after Batman & Robin, he needs redeeming.

Actually, X-Men and Spider-Man are in Fox and Sony's hands respectively. I figure they're churning out the new movies to keep their contracts up - Marvel wants them back now that they're creating their own universe and with Disney, they can probably get them.
But the contracts are ironclad, so, we'll just have to wait and see.

I dunno, Poison Ivy is a bit more... petite... in my mind. And also wouldn't fit in the Nolanverse at all, so, kind of a moot point there. :p
She had a casual role in Firefly. Now that was a brilliant show!

I never saw Firefly, but Mad Men is a brilliant show. 8)

Hey guys, keep my family in your prayers. My grandfather is refusing to eat, drink or take his medications, and my mom had to drive down to South Carolina tonight to talk to him.

I'll remember you, Tickle! That's horrible! My grandpa just got out of a nursing home today, after spending two months in a hospital and nursing home, so I know how tough it is...
I'm having a bit of fun inspired by davidlhsl, if anyone wants to check it out here (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?p=1318309).
