Since I have been, too, and I didn't even apply, I doubt it's "given access" and more "new forum that's yet to be hidden."

EDIT: Oh, quick question, by the by - anyone here know the scale of Monsterpocalypse? Like, the full monsters - how big are they compared to HeroScape figures? I get the impression they'd fit on a double base, roughly... but I'm not entirely certain.

I used to play Monsterpocalypse, I'll snap some pictures for ya. But generally no, they won't fit well.

Wow bats....... way to drop the ball on this one. :poorpost:

You know "Anakin" is gonna chop off your arm before the emperor when he finds out he is on the council but not a Master right? :lol:

Age is not just a number, if it were, people would never ask you how old you are, grades wouldn't be divided by age groups, there wouldn't be a kid's section on the site, there wouldn't be a drinking age limit, kids would be able to skip school without punishment, etc, etc, etc,

Built a custom map and got 2 games in managing to use every C3G X-Men unit at least once except Toad and Iceman.

I have to say Blob was the star of both games as a defensive unit. Professor X also was overall MVP. I never used Telepathic Blast, or Psychic Defense X with him but Mutant Mind Link lets you get some serious mileage out of cheaper heroes like Nightcrawler and Pyro.

You know Quozl, there are some sick people around here that like to edit quotes, and the one above would have been pretty tempting for some sick bastage. :)

Edit: Oh to answer the original question. I got an army test in for Shadow Thief before going to my sister's for Thanksgiving and then coming back and working in the basement for 4 hours. I let my wife "help" with something last week when she was off work one day and something that should have taken 2 hours total, has already taken me about 4 hours to fix and will likely take another hour tomorrow before I can start working on what I should have been working on earlier tonight. But I kept my mouth pretty much shut and just did it without giving her an earful about it. For you newlyweds, the wives remember things forever, so be careful what you say, it can haunt you forever.

The Cthul big monsters won't fit on bases well because of the tentacles, but the other alien should. The only thing is they look SLIGHTLY too small compared to the larger 'Scape figures. These guys are supposed to dwarf skyscrapers, and they look a bit off comparatively. And the little units or whatever they're called are generally just way too small. The Taskmaster green guy by Batman might make for a cool squad or something, even if he is a bit short, but the problem is that he's rare and costs a lot (At least, when I used to play a year or so ago he was).

If Mags and Prof X are on the battlefield, the smartest thing Magnetic can do is keep his bubble up and use his normal attack to put Prof X on the ropes. No sense making yourself vulnerable and throwing people around while your opponent is still getting 2 for 1 turns.

:word:

Mags can be kind of a whimp vs. some equal point guys if you lower the bubble and try throwing them around. If his teammates can distract the opponent, Mags has a better chance with his shield down.

Yeah, I wanted to get into MonPoc, too, because I love the idea... but it's just too much money for something I'd never get to play. But, huh, most probably wouldn't fit in, either by literal size or the fact they're supposed to be obviously a lot larger... but I think they gorillas would. They'd just be slightly-larger-than-average gorillas, which is fine by me.

Somebody has a thing for monkeys ... :-P

Funny thing? I really don't. I find Gorilla Grodd VERY boring in most cases, but I really like Mallah because he's such a ridiculous concept (same for the Gorilla Boss of Gotham City). So I thought up synergy he could use from there, and along with my E-Ray Glyph concept, I've now dedicated myself to creating a fully realized and competative Gorilla Army for C3G.

...yeah, not quite a Gandhi-esque cause, but it'll do in a pinch. :lol:

It IS a great game, but it did cost me a lot of money that now I wish I wouldn't have spent, since nobody seems to want to trade for it. :p
You'd have to probably have the figures in your hand to make sure they'd work, and that their feet would line up on a base.

I went to my local game store to pick up some D3 (great wave, I need more commons) and while I was there I said what the heck and grabbed 2 Web of Spiderman boosters for 20% off. I opened the first one in my car and the first figure I saw was the $35 dollar Deadpool! Talk about getting you moneys worth in an 8 dollar booster.

I still need more D3, I have 1x everything so far and my local game store is getting more so I'm gonna try to nab 2-3 times more the common and 1-2 more of the uncommon pack.

I'd assume not for a few months. If we get wave 4 (Or 3, or whatever, I don't remember how you're counting it. :p ) in Dec, and the FF set in Jan, then I think we'll be set for a while. 8)

We have a promotions department to field these types of questions now. :-) I wouldn't be surprised to see a month between Wave 4 and the Fan Four set, though, fwiw.

One more question, Would there be any chance that in C3G they do the public access thing that they are doing in C3V?

Probably not. Not any time soon at least. If we did something like that, it'd have to replace our public designs.

Wow....

OK, click the subscribe button a the bottom of a thread. Then everytime you hit User CP, a list will appear of each thread that has been commented on since you last viewed it.

Basically, it is a great way to follow conversations as they transpire.

When you click on your User CP, there will be a list of threads that have been commented on that you subscribed to. Sometimes I have a few, sometimes I have 20 or so show up. That kind of helps keep me up to date with things I'm most interested in. Now sometimes a thread will pop up that I haven't looked at in a long time, but that's just because it hadn't seen any action in awhile. But I just look at it and that's it, after you look at them they shouldn't pop up the next time you sign in and hit User CP.

It just makes it so much quicker to keep up without having to scroll through all the pages or forums.

Well, as I understand it, not too long ago (2006, maybe?) Sinestro came back in full force and made himself a team he called "Sinestro Corps." He'd always had a Yellow Power Ring, but now he had other allies (like Anti-Monitor and Cyborg Superman) who also got rings and they fought the Green Lantern Corps.

Fastforward to the past two years and suddenly there's this big event and the entire emotional/color spectrum gets Corps, each with huge armies on the same scale as the Green Lanterns.

Red Lantern Corps - Based on anger. Led by Atrocitus. Have the power to instill rage in others and... vomit blood, I guess...
Sinestro Corps (Yellow) - Based on fear. Led by Sinestro. Have the power to, well, spread fear.
Orange Lantern Corps - Based on greed. Pretty much just Atrocitus, because he's too greedy so share the power with others. Can absorb power from other rings, I think.
Green Lantern Corps - Based on willpower/fearlessness. Do I really need to explain this one?
Blue Lantern Corps - Based on hope. Led by Saint Walker. Healing powers, I think... not really sure.
Indigo Tribe - Based on compassion. Led by Indigo-1. Wait, maybe these guys have healing powers. I dunno the cooler half of the spectrum is pretty vague.
Star Sapphires (Violet) - Based on love. Led by Star Sapphire. Can show someone their true love and also have like crystal barriers I think.

So there's this big event where all the Corps fight and it's awesome and stuff, and this is followed by Blackest Night. Blackest Night introduces the Black Lanterns - who consist of dead characters from DC's history. They have the power to... steal hearts... and be scary... I guess? Not really sure.

And then, to finish off the Black Lanterns, the White Lanterns appear, which are ALSO dead DC characters, only instead of being zombies, they're just brought back to life. They can bring OTHERS back to life, I think. But they only appeared for like one issue, and the only one left is Deadman, and he's not "really" a White Lantern as much as he's looking for someone to carry the light or something.

...

If I recall correctly at least.

IAmBatman
December 5th, 2010, 09:43 PM
White ones are silly because they're only there for a single storyline and don't seem to have any consistent or identifiable affect on powers. The change is story only - not any "real" change.
The lanterns are based on the so-called emotional spectrum and the chosen to bear those rings have the ability to inspire/contain great amounts of that emotion:

Red = Rage
Orange = Avarice (aka Greed)
Yellow = Fear
Green = Will
Blue = Hope
Indigo = Compassion
(Star Sapphires) Violet = Love

Black = Death
White = Life

So far the only thing "special" about the White Lanterns seems to be that they've come back to life at some point or other. Whatever.
I mostly think they're silly because it's so obviously temporary.
I think the same thing about Scarecrow as a Yellow Lantern and Wonder Woman as a Star Sapphire. They were in those roles for a blip in time for a very specific story moment and then really never again.
The Green Lantern Corps and the Yellow Lantern Corps (aka Sinestro Corps) are really the only two so far that have a decently large number of named characters.
The Red Lantern and Blue Lantern Corps do seem to be growing though. As do the Star Sapphires.
The Indigo Tribe (as they're called) are mostly unnamed and mysterious.
The Orange Lantern Corps is by its nature just one guy (Larfleeze) with a bunch of constructs (who's too greedy to share the power with anyone).
The Black Lantern Corps was another temporary story thing during Blackest Night and was basically the DC equivalent of Marvel Zombies (it's a cool story though, and I recommend it). Only Black Hand, Nekkron, and Scar seem to be at all lasting members of this "Corps," though even with Black Hand, it's hard to say.

The Bizarro Lantern thing was just a silly stunt they did way back when ... it's at best loosely and tangentally associated (in that I guess Bizarro Lantern's ring was made from the same Qwardian anti-matter that the rest of the Sinestro Corps' rings were made from).
Sinestro basically created the whole Yellow Lantern Corps (thus the Sinestro Corps name) by putting a bunch of Qwardians to work forging rings and then sending them out around the universe to those capable of inspiring great fear. He has the first yellow ring and he leads the Sinestro Corps like a dictator and general.

Thanks for the lantern synopsis! That really helps. So what's the deal with Yellow Sinestro Corps vs. Yellow Bizarro Lanterns?

Well, back before the whole "Sinestro Corps" thing, there was Bizarro, of course. And on Bizarro World he made his Bizarro Justice League; Bizarro, Batzarro, Bizarra, Bizarro-Flash, and... Yellow Lantern! So he was pretty much just the Bizarro Green Lantern, and just one guy.

So when they did the whole Sinestro Corps thing with the new Yellow Lanterns, they realized - hey, we already have a Yellow Lantern! So they pulled him into it, but just as a short gag, I think.

One of the odd quirks you get in 75 years of history.
