I can't wait for this. I'm a Halo fan and hooked on Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II lately. Halo Wars outta fill a nice little whole in my Xbox 360 collection.

sorry, that was the first I'd heard of it. I got a little excited.... :D

I hope they don't screw it up, meaning I hope its absolutely awesome. Anything less would be a let down to the franchise. Really, the Halo universe seems fairly similar to WW2 style warfare, like in Company of Heroes. Anti-Tanks weapons, fighters, bombers, infantry, seeking cover behind a burn't out warthog, etc. I'm interested to see how the more starcrafty elements (scarabs, something that looked like a barracks on thrusters in the video, Covenent sword troops, flood :twisted:)

They also announced some vague Halo game related the Peter Jackson movie. :shrug: I guess I'd be fine if they screwed that one up, it is a movie game...

in other slightly unrelated news, they just released doom on xbox live today. I'm trying real hard not to buy it :D

Guess that's why they put the kibosh on that Halo total conversion mod for C&C generals. Nifty...wish I liked RTS games.

I'm not a huge RTSer. Never played them much at all really, that is until LOTR came out for 360. I can't put that game down.

I have a small gut feeling that this "exclusive" will find it's way to PC eventually. Many many other "exclusives" have proved to be anything but in recent years. Resident Evil 4 anyone? Halo? Monkey Ball? Splinter Cell? the list goes on....

But darnit I wish I could watch videos right now. Anyone find any text articles or previews describing what the game will be like? What kind of units? etc?

Never was a fan of the Norse. Poseidon is one of my favorites though. Definatly my favorite non-egyptian civ.

Do you happen to have the expansion set as well? I find the Atlantians a fun group to play with.

I just got AOM a few weeks ago from my uncle who had beaten it so of now I don't have any expansions for it however I do plan on downloading some smaller expansions off the main site.

Gotta play as the Flood!

The storyline is supposedly set during the early battles between the Covies and the Humans, so I assume there will be no Flood versus Human battles in the main plot as Humans haven't encountered Flood yet. Maybe Flood verus Covies could be in there though, and Flood could be in the free for all create your own battle modes, assuming they have such things.

The third is a Halo-related project that Peter Jackson is working on in addition to the movie. Rumors range from a movie tie-in game to a game about a new Spartan to a game about the Fall of Reach to a game about the Covenant's ancient history to everything else you can think of. Nobody except Peter Jackson and Bungie seem to know. Supposedly it's going to be some sort of action game though....first person, third person, who knows.
