This scenario is inspired by the 1981 film of the same name.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

Wow! You've definitely motivated me to go back and watch that old movie. I haven't seen it since it came out in the theaters.

How about an Black Hole scenario next? ;)

Hmm... a Black Hole scenario eh? Sounds like the entire map would be covered in shadow tiles. So with 20 or 30 BftU sets... :D

I've had so much fun with the 1st Dragonslayer scenario that I decided to make it into a Trilogy.

Chapter 1: Swascombe River Crossing has just been uploaded. The original scenario is now called Chapter 2: The Lake of Fire.

I hope you enjoy it and I'd love to hear some feedback.

Sneak preview of Chapter 3: The Siege of Urland is now up.

The enraged Vermithrax now seeks retribution and lays siege on Castle Urland.

This scenario is in the very early stages of testing and has another good 20 hours left in development. Estimated release in 2 to 3 weeks.

Any chance of re-doing the map for scenario 2 so that you don't need 2 Volcarren Wastelands?

Any chance of re-doing the map for scenario 2 so that you don't need 2 Volcarren Wastelands?

That's an interesting idea. My main regret with this scenario is the high build requirements.

While I think it's possible, it'll likely require a ton more tiles in order to keep the current lava fields and molten lava in the same positions. I'll put it on the plate of things to do, but I really don't want to re-test this scenario if the profile of the terrain changes too drastically as many of the escape routes are very dependent on exact tile placements.

That being said, a lot of the molten lava is purely cosmetic--reachable only by Fyorlag Spiders which aren't in the scenario. One possibility is to substitute swamp tiles for lava fields and swamp water for molten lava. It'll likely need more than one SoTM set to get more 1 and 2 hex swamp pieces.

It's a great suggestion and one I'll likely explore in the near future.

In an effort to make these maps a little more assessable , I've uploaded a new PDF of Chapter 2: The Lake of Fire. The new PDF contains 2 new alternate builds that replace the 2 lava sets with either 2 BftU or 2 SotM.

Please note that while both these builds are nearly identical to the original they suffer from inefficient tile/set economy.

You can download the PDF here (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/downloads.php?do=file&id=2283).

In the dungeon build, the dungeon tiles are treated as lava fields and the shadow tiles are treated as molten lava.

In the swamp build, the swamp tiles are treated as lava fields and the swamp water tiles are treated as molten lava.

Enjoy!
