Nah, I submitted like an hour before the deadline. But the whole list is gonna get turned on its head in about 10 hours, so it hardly matters. If at the deadline the poll still looks like it does now I'll have a least a couple points for guessing one of them correctly.

Probably just cursed myself by saying that. Although that will involve cursing all the people who put Charos and/or NGS in their picks as well, so maybe that isn't a bad thing?

Well, it appears as if the Cult for Charos has developed much sway in the polls as of late, their members growing quickly with no sign of slowing down.

However, that is all about to change.

A cry has been heard, from the far off reaches of the world, and it is our duty to answer. The most prestigious, the most powerful, the altogether superior establishment; figurheaded by the magnificent clan leader himself Migol Ironwill; the Band of Bad Axes has arrived to conquer the Battle Royale!

The Great Migol Ironwill's resolute power is unmatched by all, swinging his hammer of obliteration with pinpoint accuracy and buffeting all agitations with his stalwhart shield. The reasons to follow him are numerous:

-Why fly over the enemy when you can bring them down to your level?

Meanwhile, ...I've updated the leaderboard. Just F.Y.I. - heavy work schedule on weekends means that sucker might sometimes get dusty on Saturdays/Sundays, but I should always get around to updating it by Monday. ^_^

Nothing more than a hunch, but I suspect that it's more down to people withholding their vote until the last second to maximise the chance to spend it where it'll count for them. I'd rather people just voted (I vote when I log in for whoever I think I put in top in my bracket).

Beyond that, every vote for every candidate yesterday came from a unique IP address, with the exception of the ICEMASTER/FOOTBALLDUDE88 brothers, who voted from the same place (their house, I assume), and whose 'sub-vote' did go to the Axegrinders...

So though it might be a bit boggling, the Axegrinders' victory does appear to be legit...

And no, Ollie, there is no way (I can find) to have a 'hidden results' poll. Best I can do is hide the list of who specifically voted. I could have users submit votes to me via PM, but that would be WAAAAAAAY too much of a hassle for me... Sorry...

There is a good chance that that will level off, though. As more people become aware of the polls more people will vote, and we are definitely seeing that, but there are only so many people that log on to the forums on a day-to-day basis, so it should start to level off relatively soon.

I simply got lucky in the first round that Charos was listed before Ne-Gok-Sa (yea, I just listed them in the order they appeared, not the order I thought they'd win) :p

I'm not sure how many D&D fans are milling about, so I was sort of hoping the Drow would pull in with the agents (who were listed first so I put them first, though there is no sane thought in my head that would have ever placed them first). Yea, double checking my entry, I transposed the order only twice. I put Crixus over Syvarris (no idea why) and I put Q9 over Sujoah (though that's because I accidentally skipped that round when I was putting together my list, realized my error and quickly shifted all my picks down to the correct ones).

Perhaps narrowed in on the whole 1 on 1 concept inspired by March Madness, I then filled out the rest of the brackets as if each person was only being compared to the other... (for instance, Charos vs Ne-Gok-Sa with Charos winning of course... not even factoring in Skahen or Taelord since I just picked the winner of those two and plopped them beneath Charos even though reality might show Charos and Ne-Gok-Sa both pulling through that particular fourway).

I'd laugh if I still managed to fare well, considering I've totally botched the process, but I'm hoping my "Bruise Brothers" will pull through for me, since they are the team I love to use and usually lose with (barring any contingent of Utgar soldiers I may fancy to charge to the slaughter).

There hasn't been a single competitor from either of those 'Master Sets' to make it past the first five battles. Granted, we still haven't seen the strongest Marvel/D&D units hit the field yet, ...but still, ...if the "Cult of the New" was seriously a factor, you'd think units like the Deepwyrm Drow or Erevan would've garnered more support...

Meh, ...we'll see.

Not necessarily. If this included D1, I think we would see a lot of people voting for the Fen Hydra and the PKs and the Greenscales, especially the Fen Hydra.

The pairings also have a lot to do with it. A lot of newer units got paired with much, much older units. I mean, we've played maybe 20 or 30 games with Charos, but only one with the Feral Troll. Maybe in time people would like the Troll more, but for now I guess a lot of people like Charos.

Hmm, ...the Zombie defeat in Battle#18 was actually a bit of an upset. There were more entries with the Zombies in first (26 versus 20) AND lots more entries with the Axegrinders in second (14 versus 6)...

There were only five entries total (out of 61) that nailed the correct Axe/Zombie order. That's our smallest 'full-point' margin yet...

Actually, I wouldn't be so sure. They'll be up against the Krav and Knights. Knights are very similar, and both are squads. With only one hero, and if this year will be like last, heroes will advance.

Truly, I'd guess the Knights and Axegrinders will duke it out strongly, and enough would vote for Charos, to at least advance. After that who knows, but it has been fun watching my favorite figure go so far as is.

I don't worry about my score. I simply know that Charos and Jotun will win, which is all that matters.

My four finalists were Charos, Nakita Agents (ha ha, my girls failed me first round), Grimnak and Jotun... with the Bruise Brothers Charos and Jotun picking up the overall win. I pretty much was fragged most this game because I didn't put anyone in the correct order, but since I managed to pick half the finalists (how Airborne Elite bested Jotun is beyond me), I'm actually doing fairly well now.

There are 41 entries that won't be getting any points at all out of the Finals. That's just over two thirds of the entries with final picks that have been eliminated.

Of the 20 entries that are left, seventeen have only ONE of their final two picks actually participating in the Championship match. That means that those 17 entries could score up to 32 points in the Finals, at maximum.

There are exactly three entries, or roughly 5% of those submitted, that have BOTH of their finalist picks actually participating in the Championship Round. These three entries each have the potential to score the full 64 points this round. However, those three entries all have DIFFERENT Champions chosen...

That means that only ONE entry can possibly score the full 64 points to top off their score...

Well... the Cult of Charos are probably half if not three quarters of those 20 entries, for certain. I'm not officially in the cult, as I've still not voted even once in these polls and would hardly be doing my membership duties in doing this.

For the finalists in this game... I despise the Airborne Elite. Their drop annoys me to no end since they are ranged and can claim the high ground with absolutely no effort whatsoever. Best counter for them is ranged that the AE can't hit like Krav or Nakita (stealth dodge/smoke bomb).

The dwarves I have honestly never seen nor have any opinion about. I'm surprised there is such love for a rather new squad group, so they must be good for something.

Grimnak is the king of my Utgar army. While I have had mixed results with Chomp, it has always been ridiculously satisfying to chomp heroes that have almost full life before going down on a die role. I AM SPARTACUS! CHOMP! Tasty Spartacus!

Not meaning to cheapen the Dwarves victory or anything, but considering that Charos beat the Dwarves in the two previous polls, I personally consider their victory here an act of charity on the part of the mighty Charos, ...but what do I know... ^_~

You were right. Turns out there was an error in the calc formula that was not giving you credit for your Axes pick in the finals. Sorry about that. ^_^ Good news is, the only two players that were affected by the glitch were you and jsmkd (the only two entries who put the Axes in Second in the finals). Your score has been corrected.
