I played agains Morsbane yesterday, and his rod of negation nullified the hand grenade attack of my elite airborne troopers. Is the hand grenade considered a special power in this situation, and subject to negation? Not being able to lob the holy hand grenade in the midst of the sniping krav maga agents was painful.

1, 2, 5...3 sir.

this was a legal negation. if AE drop but don't get initiative to go first, anything can and will happen. i've seen the hand grenade attack wipe out lots of stuff still in the start zone. ain't pretty (unless your the one throwing the grenades).

it's legal..the AE are unique's and the Rod negates all abilities on the card...

however the negation does not werk against cards like Roman archers, marro drones, aub. archers as they are "common"...

So, you could use the rod of negation to cancel the AE's drop - thus they'd never even appear on the board?

From Morsbane's card:

...you may choose any opponent's unique figure within 6 clear sight spaces of Morsbane.

If the AE haven't dropped yet, they aren't on the field, so can't be within 6 clear sight spaces. So, no Morsbane cannot negate the drop.

no, the Negation can only be used if the fiqure is within 6 spaces.

Thanks - Morsbane is one of those characters that doesn't see a lot of play in our house.

Yeah, Morsbane is more of a special situation figure. Probably most used on the big point hogs like Jotun or Nilfheim.

Charos and Krug suffer the most from Morsbane, IMO. Krug in particular is just a dead upon negation. Also, in keeping with the bio, Sudema suffers when negated greatly. Also, you can HLD Brunak if you negate hiim while he's on molten lava. I just find that endlessly entertaining more than anything.

There are a few workhorse units like Finn that don't rely too much on their specials. These are the only characters that I wouldn't waste a marker on.

I agree that Krug and Charos are great Morsbane targets. I'd add Braxas to that list too, and Taelord if your opponent is using him to boost a large number of ranged units and you think you can get close enough to pull of a negation.

Raelin is a decent negation target if you have a marker to spare and she's giving you grief. Ditto for Kravs. They're kind of second-priority though.

in a game the krav's would be a huge priority for me to pull a negation on..
why? their a unique squad with a h**lacious defense on ranged units and Ive seen them time and time again be the deciding factor in a game...

Question then. If Morsbane has successfully negated ALL opponent's uniques left on the board, but still has one marker left, can he continue to try to roll 20's on the said heros, even though they're already negated?

His card says that he can roll for negation if he has at least one negation marker left on his card, so this would seem to make sense according to the rules.

Yes, as long as there is one marker on the card, the only problem with that would be if you roll high enough to negate them you would have to put the marker on their card and wouldn't be able to try kill them again.
