Gen X Comics Re-Gathering

So I wasn't going to post anything, but I figured what the hell, half of us are going to be there already.

Last weekend at Gen X Comics in Bedford, we had us a Heroscape thing. We also played some Battlestations. And a few of us noticed the upcoming 75% off sidewalk sale, which gave us a reason to return.

So this weekend, Markwars and I were going to meet back there and see if we could grab a game of Heroscape before we went our separate ways. Then our Russian toys came in, so I invited Ninthdoc so we could make the swap. Then DFlyinSqrl is going to show, and I'm bring my boy, and Rychean is supposed to be there, and Ninthdoc might bring a friend - so we've got a gathering in the making, though it is an impromptu thing. So if any of you cats can make it out at about 2 - 2:30, we're talking about setting up some maps and having a little mini-tourney/practice session. Nothing formal. I'm bringing all my HS stuff, so I can build three maps, though I'll have to push it through the store (it's on wheels). If more people show, we'll need more stuff. I'm probably going to try to get the tourney maps printed this morning.

So if you're not doing anything and you live in DFW, come on out. We'll probably start the tourney at about 2:30, so if you arrive much later than that, you may end up just watching us play. But you can still cruise the sale, and maybe get in a pickup game on the side.

Well, for an impromtu event that was quite a turn-out! It was a lot of fun.

I got a game in against Markwars, D-Dyzzle, D-Dyzzle's friend, IMax jr (who killed all my Krav in one shot from Jotun...ouch!) and Velenne. All good games!

my current situation means I don't have saturdays off werk for the next 3-5 months at least, so if anyone is interested in coming out here on a sunday afternoon just pm, I've not had my hs fix in awhile. But Im also willing to play other games, I just picked up horrorclix and dreamblade and am lookin for ppl to try those out with.

Gen X rocks! I stopped by up there today to meet up with Ninth and exchange some stuff with him....yeah for Doc!!!!
and was talking with the guys in there about different things and they were all pretty kewl..

and the best thing..they hooked me up with a way of getting an exlusive Horrorclix fiqure!

they're stuff isna that overpriced either, and they have HS stuff, of which Doc informed me quite a bit was bought in past 2 weekends from ye all!. but they still had wave 5 and utgar's fiqures there.

enough to build 1v1 ish map or whatnot, can't get ye specifics man..likely I'll throw some terrain in my bag and go from there...with 8 ms sets I don't really keep track of what's in 1 ms set..its just all together, and add in the terrain for fiq packs and well..

same with fig's I'll have my venoc army for sure, as well as a soulberg army and some other assorted fiq's.

bring what ye want/need is best answer I can give ye.

if ye wanna meet up early pm me and I'll give ye my cell number and ye can try to call and wake me up(no promises on this though).

and since genx is about 15-20 minutes from my house..

as to D&D stuff if yer talking mini's, Im pretty much out..got the starter a handful of mini's I picked up for customs, etc.
oh and got the boardgame w/expansions.

however I doubt we'd have time to do a full d&D scenario on sunday. I'll be getting there about noon and taking off around 4ish-5ish(dinnertime)!!!

and I'll be on my 'cycle so what I bring is kinda limited to what i can stuff in my bag.

so bring yer terrain for sure, I believe DFS is gonna bring his terrain also, and we'll both have horrorclix stuff if ye wanna join a game of that.

Yeah, I'm with Rod on this one. We won't have much time to be able to do much in D&D in just one sitting. Unless y'all want to play something real quick...

Time Table:
1) 30-35 minutes to create level 1 characters using 3.5 edition D20 rules
2) 2 minutes for DFlynSqrl (dah DM) to establish the scenario... "You find yourselves in front of a large cave entrance... bones litter the ground everywhere..."
3) 5 minutes to role a random monster from the "Let's Play HeroScape Instead Random Monster table"* and following fatal combat.

i recently discovered that last weekend or the week befor i lost four of my rttff trees (the 10 11s and 12 high, still got the 15 high though) if anyons has some extra that might be them plz pm me. vallene i think you might have got em from that castle vs castle map i built with both of our trees. lost trees plz help

but aside i had a good time at all three events so far and cant wait for the tourny.

interesting way to learn horrorclix also
but it was fun.

the 3 on 3 map was interesting but it was a bit offbalanced, not much though for being an quick put together map.

I played 3x rats, blasts, glad's, death hounds...
and no I didna play the rats as they abusers would..

Back when Raknar and tundra came out, I remember searching for months. With 5, I ordered from HMG only to get hit with distribution problems. WalMart had them in stock first so I changed my order to something else. Now I've gone and held out again only to be disappointed with my decision... grr....

The Draku Mathu custom was indeed awesome, but nowhere near as awesome as the dice tower that Velenne had in tow.

An IMax original from Vixentor Games; a cathedral design. Imax, you must post the pics of that tower. It was very impressive.

Clix will never be a regular thing for me. I totally use clix for customs, that's all. OTOH, I signed up for some Clix games at GC b/c they are giving away free figures when you play and they are exclusives (new sculpts, not repaints). So I've got less than a week to figure out how to play.
