T.V. - The Long Way Round

Anyone else seen/enjoyed "The Long Way Round" with Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman (& Claudio)?

I've just discovered this series in my local video store and I'm soooooo loving it. IMHO, one of the best shows ever (it's a big statement, I know).

That's quite an endorsement. I'm currently converting the wife now. I'm hoping that after a hiatus of several years (and several children also) that it might make my case for getting another bike a little easier. :D

Best of luck on getting a bike - there's no better way to travel! That series had me really itching to go on another long trip. My last was two years ago - a weeklong ride out to Virginia and the Carolinas to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, and others. From what I've heard, you've got some truly beautiful roads down in your part of the world.

I watched this sometime ago. It was pretty good. I was a bit disappointed near the end though, they jammed the entire US portion of the trip into like 2 episodes.

I miss riding my bike. :(

The US DVD version of this show has 7 episodes. According to reviews on Amazon, there is a European version that has 10 episodes. I'd like to know what the extra 3 episodes cover! I guess we'll have to wait until that edition comes stateside. Maybe that's where some of the missing AK to NY footage went....
