I LOVE "Last Train to Clarksville"!
One of my favorites.
I think that was on "Hard Days Night".
Yeah, I love the Beatles too.

I like a lot of the later Beatles, more of the stuff they started doing while experimenting with drugs.

I do so love me some mop top music - preferably the earlier stuff. Great great great songwriting.
Early favorites for H_E_H:
No Reply
In My Life The great little piano solo fill by George Martin recorded at slow speed to match the tempo of the song. When played at normal speed, the solo is sped up and matches the song. I just love it.
I've just seen a face (great little acuostic guitar solo/fill in the middle. The solo ends with a nice little strum/harmonics type of thing)
And Your Bird Can Sing (I want to be a bassist every time I hear this song)
I know I do. I've just found one of their records in my basement!
Help! I need somebody...
You've Got to Hide Your Love Away - as a little boy watching Help! This song was the ultimate coolness to me. Oh, Ringo's sub-floor bed was the bed I wanted as a kid too - it just looked like a really neat bed to have.
There's more, but I can't think of all the titles. :?
Later Classsics for H_E_H:
A Day in the Life (I still get chills when it starts)
Lovely Rita McCartney almost rapping in the verses.
Penny Lane Just a great song and has got a masturbatory reference that cracks me up every time.
Julia A song for Lennon's mother, Julia. Amazing song.
Dear Prudence Is Lennon not the greatest?!?
Because The vocals only version of this song if freakin' amazing.
the whole 'rock symphony' of songs on Abbey Road - You Never Give Me Your Money through The End
Her Majesty - the first ever hidden track?

Yeah, they weren't too bad either - a poor imitation of the Beatles, but not too bad.
I'm more into the earlier stuff. One of my all time favourites is "This Boy". I just love the arpeggiated guitar bit and the harmonies. Loved them since I was a kid.

THE ROLLING STONES ARE BETTER!
They're good, but not the Beatles type of good.
Now if they would only just go away...

I know there is a fair mix of younger folks here, and people closer to my age.
But I'll never forget that fateful night.
While watching MNF, Howard Cosell breaking in with that chilling 2nd half announcement...
*best H.C. voice*
"Ladies and gentlemen, It has been reported to me that
Mickey Dolenz has been shot and Killed outside of his New York City apartment."* End H.C. voice.
chilling..

You mean John Lennon? Mickey Dolenz was a Monkee, and is acutally a Radio DJ as of now.
I'm 13 and a Beatles fan. Trust me, I know.

Misery
P.S. I Love You
Things We Said Today
Chains
I Should Have Known Better
oh crud, I could list all day - there's just too many great ones...

I'm not a big fan of The Beatles-but if it came down to choosing The Beatles or Elvis, The Beatles definitely have my vote!
