I suppose it has been already asked, please forgive me ^^
how exactly works Sir Hawthorne's Stab in The Back ability?
if you roll a 1, the figure rest under choosen opponent control for the rest of the game?
(well, untill he rolls 1, I suppose ^^)
apart Glyph of Lodin, there's a way to prevent this to happen?
something you can include in your army, like Khosumet U.F. Enhancement ability. I ask because I don't know all the figures released.

The Glyph of Lodin is the only way.

thanks, I was just editing to exclude Glyph of Lodin ^^;
well, it is worth fielding this Judas?
he has good stats at a cheap price, but I think I'll never play it
anyone here draft it on regular basis?

He's quite powerful for his points. He can technically kill any unit in a single turn and he has bonding. Stab in the Back probably deters people more than it should. People play him expecting it to happen, yet people never expect to get a Mindshackle. He definitely adds some fun situations to the game.

Yeah that bonding is great for when the coward switches teams as then your Knights (or what have you) can at least take a turn attempting to kill the traitor.

Unless you're using the McDirks and you choose Hawthorne as your Human Champion...
Ouch, imagine if you had Hawthorne and the McDirks against your opponent's last figure and Hawthorne turned sides. The McDirks could finish off that last figure, but then they'd just have to run around the map hoping they can get Hawthorne to turn sides again (they can't attack him).
Hawthorne: You ungrateful Scots! That was my kill!
McDirks: Run for your lives boys!
Hawthorne: Aw, it's fine, lets go home.
VICTORY!?

I love using Hawthorne. His stats are quite good, and his life gives him some extended use. I've used him only once, though, but in that game he kept close to 10 of my opponent's units busy while I used Blind Rage for multiple attacks and mobilized my other units.

That's an interesting puzzle....if the MacDirks choose Hawthorne as their champion and he swaps sides, does that trump the Highland Fury rule that says they can't attack him?
I imagine Hasbro would rule that it does, lest there be a really awkward situation where one player has a large MacDirk force and the second player can just rampage Hawthorne through the ranks without fear of attack. Sure it will only occur once in a while (5% chance of backstab) but it could be a problem if it does.
I suppose this should be added to the questions to Hasbro list.
BTW...I don't have my cards with me. If I wanted to use a negation marker (say I had Morsbane but my opponent had no uniques left to negate or kill) can I negate my own guy? Could I negate my ownHawthorne if I only had a few figures left and the chance of losing him was becoming a real risk?

No, Negation only works on opponent's figures.

'some good thoughts on this thread!
I have not used Hawthorne yet, but my buddy has fielded him multiple times. I keep waiting to see that '1' show up and take over the black knight, but it hasn't happened yet.

Actually Mindshackling the Human Champion is a worse situation. If Hawthorne tried to rampage through my MacDirks, I just have to play keep away long enough to get him to switch back. It might take a while, but it's not the impossible scenario that Mindshackling creates.

Yeah, what is the deal with Mind-shackling the MacDirk's champ? How does that work out?

From the FAQ:
Assume that the chosen human champion of the MacDirk Warriors becomes mind-shackled by an opponent. Do the MacDirk's still get the Highland Fury as long as that champion is in play? Can the MacDirk Warriors attack that champion?
The Macdirk Warriors card states "While that champion is in play" and not "While that champion is in play and under your control". If their chosen Human Champion's control is handed over to another player by any means (Mind Shackle or otherwise), as long as the Champion is still in play, the Macdirk Warriors will receive the Highland Fury enhancement. Obviously, the Macdirk Warriors will be unable to attack their chosen Human Champion.
I would assume Hawthorne works the same way...

Wow....how much would that suck?
I shackle your Alastair and then just casually beat the living snot out of your MacDirks as they run around helpless.
