Nope. WK was dead as of last year and NECA buying them is the only saviour for Heroclix and Pirates. I can only hope that NECA can revive the Haloclix game...what with ODST out and Halo Reach coming out.
So, no, WK as a dead company being bought is a good thing and NECA even re-hired some of the former WK people that Topps let go. :)

2009 called. They want their news back.
Personally, I just pre-ordered a case of The Brave and the Bold which has got an April 14th release date. Hammer of Thor is still available in stores... NECA is re-releasing the Freddy Vs Jason Horrorclix pack as a stand alone game in addition to a Gremlins game on clix bases.
Halo Actionclix is in the works again, the Pirates constructable game is still on hiatus this year, but they are planning on getting new sets out for next year.
Did you completely miss the end of 2008 and mst of 2009 when Heroclix was completely dead wth no hope of coming back?
Now Star Wars Minis on the other hand... that is as dead as a doornail. WotC isn't renewing the Lucasfilms license so there will never be any more sets of that.

They have already begun releasing HeroClix packs of the old figures (saw them at TRU) I think its 3 in a pack..in a clear tube so you see which 3 figures are in the pack...$6 per pack.

Gasp! You toy with me, Sir! Pray tell, where did you glean this wonderous bit of enlightenment. Did you completely miss the end of 2008 and mst of 2009 when Heroclix was completely dead wth no hope of coming back?
I believe the OP was encased in carbonite and hung in Hoo-Hoo the Hut's private gallery before a bounty hunter freed him. Or, I could be wrong. :) Now Star Wars Minis on the other hand... that is as dead as a doornail. WotC isn't renewing the Lucasfilms license so there will never be any more sets of that.
According to Lucas Films, there's still hope...they did say stay tuned with baited breath. But that could just be an inside joke for the Mon Calamari fans.

I wish they would rerelease the Aliens from the AVP series of Horroclix.

I am glad to see the Heroclix game back! I will be picking up the new Iron Man starter soon. Not sure how much I want to invest in the Brave and the Bold series. On the new site they announce a Darkest Night starter which sounds awesome!

Star Wars may be dead at WotC, but I believe Lucas will license it to someone. I could even see Star Wars coming out as Heroscape, Lucas already owns half of Hasbro... lol. I would love to see Fantasy Flight get a hold of the Star Wars license.
