Although some professionals are able to deactivate these devices of demolition and destruction, most people usually go running for the hills when one of these bad boys has been triggered.

What happens if there is a castle wall or ruin or tree or pile of one hexes between a figure and the glyph?

It's a BIG blast. It will blow through castle walls, ruins, trees and a pile of one hexes. Like Harley's Smilex Bomb, it also affect figures 100 levels up. :)

How or why did you guys come to that conclusion? We are working on something similar in HoSS.

I can't remember the specifics of the "how we came to that conclusion" other than being a one time explosion, we likely felt that it should feel pretty powerful and worthy of some tension. Also and probably more to the point of the reason we came up with the conclusion now that I think about it, you can't determine clear sight from a glyph. So you can't say "all figures within 3 clear sight spaces of the glyph of the Time Bomb receive 6 wounds".

I'd say that the only restriction that could have been added if we had wanted to would be to have the restriction that affected figures cannot be more than X amount of levels higher or lower than the space the glyph of the Time Bomb occupied.

This glyph definitely shouldn't be used in playtesting and people can be cautious when including it in a regular game. It is probably ideal as part of a scenario, particularly one with Superman in it so he can use his X-Ray vision to check out what glyph is what before someone moves onto it.

It's permanent in that you can't equip it and remains in play until it explodes, if it explodes. It may never explode so it's permanent in that sense. If it does explode, then it's removed from the game because the effects of the glyph were activated, making it a temporary glyph.
