This thread is meant to maintain a pulse on the Heroscapers community's interest in specific comic book characters they'd like to see converted into C3G figures. I would like to keep running total of everyone's top 5 superheroes that they would like to see converted. Please list your figures in order of importance. I will award 5 pts to your first priority, 4 pts for your second figure, etc and then keep track of the overall point totals on this first page. Please only vote one time.

Please note: This list does not mean that the figures will definitely get made, but it will help people like myself pick a figure that the community is interested in seeing get created.

Fun idea! I'm sure I'll look in here from time to time, though for my personal choices, it'll be a tie breaker at best, since I've got my own backlog of interests pretty much worked out already ... :-D

I would love to see the DC line grow a little more before a new C3C project went underway like a (JLA expansion)...but.....if I had to pick 5 from ANY line...

Here are my Top 5
1. Punisher
2. Spawn
3. Ghost Rider
4. Hell Boy
5. Flash

Well after the X-Men "set" comes out, we're shifting away from releasing thematic "sets" and going ala carte. What that means is you might get one Indy fig, then three DC figs, then a scenario, then an optional rules addition, then a Marvel fig, then a DC fig, then five Marvel figs, etc.
Looks like you're into some Hellions. :-) Oh, and which Flash? Barry? Wally? ... Jay? :-P

I agree with that as my priority as well. I grew up buying new Flash comics with Wally and Barry. Plus my dad had tons of Flash comics, most of which were Barry with a few Jay Garricks. Barry is the silver-age Flash, which is the best era for DC comics Imo.

Spiderman (with symbiote)
Blink
The Ghost of Lobster Johnson
Shatterstar
Howard the Duck

There's a bunch of stuff that I'd like to see, but the minis are either way too expensive (Winter Soldier, Dark Beast) or they don't seem to exist (Strife, Nemesis).

That list is different.

I'm not sure how to take that. ;)

While Howard the Duck is mostly joking around, he does have a heroclix mini. Blink is a fairly popular character with a great mini (that's cheap). Shatterstar was one of the super-badass characters when I was a kic (again great sculp). Lobster Johnson by himself would be absolutely sweet, but he's much more powerful as a ghost (and it helps differentiate him from the other guys that just beat other guys up).

Btw, Howard would have to be funny as a custom for me to like it, that could be difficult.

1)Mxyzptlk: Ive always wanted to do a custom for him. He would make for some fun scenarios with Superman.

2)Deadpool: Who wouldnt want a suped up Isamu?

3)Any JLA figure not done yet. Im looking forward to some JLA scenarios.

4)Nightcrawler

The great thing about ala carte is that you have to choose what you do a draft of carefully ... if it doesn't catch on enough you might not get the playtests/etc. to get it through.

1) Starro - imagine Mind Shackle that can reproduce...

2) Bishop - give him counterstrike that always works- ranged or melee.

3) Ghost Rider - Has enough cool powers that he'd make a fun figure. And double-spaced!

4) Skrull - Unique squad, get a chance at attack immunity if adjacent to enemy figures, can steal powers from figures they destroy? This would be tricky but very thematic and fun, I think.

5) Wolverine, (begrudgingly) - C'mon you can't be a custom comic creation project and not have Wolverine. It's like a cardinal sin.d

I know I'm supposed to vote but what the heck. Here's some suggestions:

The must do list:
Thor (Why was this not considered? Did I miss something or is the figure too hard to find?)
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern

The would be cool to have List:
Captain Marvel
Super Girl
Sub Mariner

The other cool lists:

Gotham City Personalities:
Robin
Mr. Freeze
Penguin (You could even give him a machine gun! Finally!)

How about some of Spiderman's best villians?
Lizard (My all time favorite!)
Green Goblin
Kraven
Rhino
Sandman

How about the Watchman?

And of course the Fantastic 4.

Perhaps not real "super heros" but cool none-the-less list. Hey, at least they were in comic books! (You DO have Howard the Duck on your main list!)
Ka-Zar
The Shadow
Conan
Red Sonja
Lone Ranger

Sounds like you've got the X-Men covered. Can't wait to see them!

This isn't a voting thread. This a thread for your suggestions. You're supposed to post your top 5 figures that you want to see get made. If they're not on the list, they just haven't been suggested by the community, yet.

I am a DC guy myself, and am more comfortable designing those customs as well, but there are certain Marvel Characters that I know will not only translate well, but also get accomplished. And I think that Nightcrawler, Gambit, and Deadpool, are very likely to be completed this year.

I would too, but yet I'm jonesing for a different Iron Man and Doom all the same. The great part about ala cart, though, is we each get to choose what we're most interested in working on first.
For instance, I doubt I'd ever get around to doing Indy if I was doing this project all on my own. There's a good chance Whitestuff will go with an Indy figure for his first design, though. If it generates enough interest, it will get through the whole life of a design and move to release. If it doesn't, Whitestuff will have to pack it in and choose something new.
Same with if one of us wants to do a new Iron Man.
For the record, though, I'm all about working on an interesting version of Iron Man or Hellboy, Spawn, Judge Dredd, etc., etc.

I would like to see some Avenger love, some Doombots and a new Doom, and Either Hydra or AIM squad to go with a new Red Skull. (Seriously, for a clone of Captain America he is way weak! He should at least be as strong on attack even if his defense is weaker due to his lack of training.) Oh, and Thor, Hal Jordan, Barry or Wally, and Martian Manhunter. (Think Superman is powerful, imagine him with shapeshifting and mindreading! That's gonna be a tough one!)

Barry Allen for the flash. Wally West is cool but I can't get Kid Flash out of my mind :P.
Black Bolt - Leader of the Inhumans and a Member of the Illuminati. admittedly his costume could be better but no one is perfect.
Hal Jordan-Green lantern big title for DC and one of the most creative heroes.

2. Hawkman
3. Ares
4. Black Widow
5. Jesse Custer (Preacher)

Jesse would probably be hard to pull off, but with a “Word of God” ability it would be cool to try. I thought about choosing John Constantine, but aside from his “Two Pack A Day” power, I’m not sure what he could add to the game. Oh yeah, that spell stuff he does. I guess Constantine would be my alternate for any of the above.

One thing guys that a lot of us will appreciate (and I'm pretty sure you do this anyway). Check the prices and availability of some of these figure before you make the cards. At the moment on Troll and Toad a Nightcrawler miniature is listed at $29.99 and Dead Pool is $5.99. Perhaps there are other stores listing a different version of these figures at a cheaper price but please keep price and availability in mind as you choose the ones to create. Otherwise this could get expensive for those of us who are making use of your customs. Again, great stuff so far!

Grishnakh,

Believe me, this has been a source of many a discussion with us. We try to keep price of figures in mind and don't want or expect people to go broke in getting these figures. I don't know if there is getting around the Deadpool figure, as I haven't seen him cheaper anywhere (I may be modding a figure for him myself :D) but for Nightcrawler, there's one other one that is much less expensive that has him in the middle of a Bamph! with a cloud of smoke in the middle and a couple Nightcrawlers coming out of the smoke. I have this one and while it's not as nice looking as the other one you mentioned, it's way way way less expensive.

Sometimes there are just only 1 or 2 versions of a Clix mini available, so we are limited in that regard. Even if there are several versions, people don't have to buy the one that will be on the card, as we try to choose what we think is the best appearing mini for the card. Everyone is encouraged to use whatever mini is best for them regardless of what is used on the card.

You might also try www.StrikeZoneOnline.com (http://www.StrikeZoneOnline.com) or www.popularcollections.com (http://www.popularcollections.com) for their prices.

As assistiant VP of Development, you would be my assistant. Just want you to know who you would be working with. I am a bit tough to work with at times... or so I have been told, but I keep very busy with all aspects of the project, so I would keep you very busy too. ;)

As a product tester you would be playtesting which is Hahma's main department, but he will tell you that we need all the help we can get there. Seriously, all the help we can get, but your reports would have to be at least as detailed as His, and he is meticulously detailed.

And as a researcher you would be working with Spidey who is our head research guy. He has been our go to guy for all things related to comic books and their characters.

So really there are three different C3G career paths here that you are interested in. I would say that before really taking one of those on right away, you may want to ease into the group and find what department suits you the best. A great place to start would definitely be the PlayTesting department.

Yes, but only heroes and sidekicks can vote and propose in your proposal thread.

Also, if I make a set, can it be counted as a c3g set if you all like it and it's playtested?

Alright, Scapemage, here is the deal... We hardly know you. You don't have any customs on this site, I have never seen you in our threads before, and I don't think I have ever even seen you in the NM24 thread. I want to be honest and open with you, and let you know up front, that you are only going to become a C3G member if or when we need new membership (which we don't right now), you contribute around our threads frequently, and we get to know you and enjoy working with you.

I guess I am being blunt, but that is what I usually do anyway , but please don't assume that you are going to become a C3G designer over night just because you said you wanted to.

Let us all just get to know each other first, before deciding that we want to work with each other. Did you know that there are many Custom Designers on this site who do not want to be a C3G member because they enjoy doing things their own way without the collaborative efforts of this group? How could you be sure that you would want to work with us? We had to practically beg A3N to join.:) And when I took a two month break last year, I had to do about 6 full playtest forms and get voted back in as a Hero. I am just saying, you might wanna earn your keep before you make requests.

Just give it some time and let things evolve naturally. But for the record, we have 8 Heroes and that many sidekicks as well, we are not in need of new membership. If you want to contribute, and get to know the group from the inside, I strongly suggest playtesting, we need the help and that is the best way to grow and develop as a custom designer, or at least I think so.

What Griff said. :-)

Spidey'tilIDie
February 2nd, 2010, 12:21 PM
I want to second what Griffin said. Thi shas been my personal experience as well. I started out as nothing more than an observer (hence the tagline in my signature "Official Member of the C3G Target Audience") I lurked and commented when felt the need. I also happen to have a wealth of comic book info rattlin' around in my melon, so when someone didn't know a character or understand them, I would post a (usually much longer than necessary) bio on said character. Slowly I took on the roll of "researcher" so to speak. At some point because of my continued involvement and others dropping out, I was elevated to Sidekick. This meant I now had responsibilites and power, but still could only vote when a tie needed to be broken. That is until several of the heroes went AWOL, including Griffin, I was awarded Hero status and the coveted vote I wanted. I was considering giving up my Hero badge (begrudgingly because I treasure it!) when Griffin returned because we, who had remained involved, knew how much he had put into it initially and seriously, which one of us can have serious cpu issues and can afford to just throw money at the problem, I mean we knew his absence had been out of his control; but then Matthelm (who I feel is a much better creator than I and much more deserving of the Hero Badge) stepped down because then he could swoop in and bust our chops as needed but not always need to be as active as being a Hero requires. SO, in conclusion, when Griffin says steady input and activity will get you noticed and the position you crave, he is being 100% truthful.

Lastly, Bats and Griff, I thought we were getting rid of the cap on Sidekicks? Yes, no?

Spidey'tilIDie
February 2nd, 2010, 12:27 PM
Fair enough ... though didn't you also vote for Howard the Duck?
And two Flashes (big names) and Wonder Woman (big name) all got plenty of love ...

True, but I explained that. If I could have found a Dick Tracy or Strife mini HtD would be out in a heartbeat. (Or if so much awsome stuff wasn't priced over $8.)
This is why Heroclix's continued existence is a blessing to us. As new sets get made, old sets get retired and the figs are devalued. Look at the Thor Griffin proposed here. He used to sell for 4 or 5 dollars and now is down to 2 because Heroclix issued a more current, more powerful one. This is my hope for Sentinels. A re-issue or a new fig.

IAmBatman
February 2nd, 2010, 12:49 PM
It's true that we don't have any current cap on sidekicks. However, since sidekicks can do initial rough drafts once we move over to ala cart, I'm not keen on just handing out sidekick status like candy.
If people participate and show their value to the project over time, I have no issue with allowing them to be sidekicks (subject to an approval vote by the heroes).
Right now I'd say Galahad and Velenne are doing a nice job of making a case for themselves for future sidekick status.
But we're definitely transitioning into a "put up or shut up" type of group. If you pitch in and help with the heavy lifting, you'll get a share of the power. But if you're just going to be another vote and not really add to the value of the project, then we'll probably take someone else over you (or no one at all, depending on the situation).

Don't mind Griffin, we usually don't let him out of his cage. :D

I think the issue is that you might not understand how our projects work. We're individually creating figures initially, but they rarely resemble what we initially created. We come up with a figure that everyone wants to work on, then one member creates a draft. The purpose of the draft is just to give us a starting point. After the first draft, frequently, we remove and add other abilities. The stats often change and even more often the card changes after it's been playtested by multiple people.

We definitely want as much imput as we can get on our figures. Please feel free to critique them in any way you'd like, but understand we vote on many decisions. So if something you feel should be done or undone doesn't happen, it's because of a majority of the C3G members don't believe it is necessary.

Or howabout a BLue Lantern Flash? Yellow Lantern Scarecrow? Star Saphire Wonder Woman? What bout the regular figs? Double Flash, Wally and Barry on one base? Hal and Barry on one base? I don't think the double based stuff translates well at all. I think if anything you just cut them both off the base and put them on separate bases. :-P

This is not the place to showcase your work or try and recruit people to join your group. As GreyOwl pointed out, you will not find any of our personal customs on these threads. For someone who claims to want community approval and acceptance, this type of behavior is completely counterproductive.

Perhaps you should read the title of this thread, Community Imput: Future C3G Figures .

I've noticed the trend lately to put two figures on one base, but I'm really not sure how to translate that into Heroscape...I am sure we could come up with something if we wanted to, I just don't think I would ever want to. I think future units that I would be likely to avoid or vote against would be double spaced figures like the ones coming in the new Brave and the Bold set. However, Milton Fine as Brainiac would be a great asset. :D

Yeah, I'm not saying I want to translate them into Heroscape. I guess I'm not sure how they even work in HeroClix, since I don't play it.
Part of me would like the challenge of designing them though. But as it is, the only sculpt that would be a reasonable candidate as a double based unit, would be the Hawk and Dove unit. Even still though, it is a weird concept for Heroscape, unlike Nerak, Grimnak, or Tornak, who are riding a lesser intelligent creature.

I wonder if you could make them like a 2-person unique squad that (obviously) has to move together. Kind of defeats part of the purpose of a squad, but you'd still have to kill both of them and they both get to attack...

How about a double spaced figure that can come apart and be two individual figures or combined and have a better power when combined?! Maybe the wondertwins? When they are apart they have their own stats and are single based, but when they activate their wonder twins power they combine to a double base and have access to a different power?!

Don't know how it would work...never tried making any custom figures...

This is the approach Heroclix takes. Personally, I was thinking of splitting the Flashes and rebasing them seperately, except from the color around the sequence number it is gonna be a Super Rare fig and expensive. Still it look pretty sweet, and you get both Flashes in different costumes.

IAmBatman

I'm honestly hoping to save them for after a few waves of ala cart to do as a Master Set, just because I feel they fit the Master Set template so, so well. Plenty of thematic maps to make. Plenty of squads and villains directly tied to them. She-Hulk makes a great fifth hero. Scenarios would be a breeze to think up. Vehicle rules would be as nice a fit there with the Fantastic Car as they would in a Gotham set.
Also, the Fan Four should really be designed to go together really well, so designing them all simultaneously would be a nice way to do things.

- Grayson is the agile acrobat.

Generally when it comes to Robin you either want to pick a character to design around or design a character and then pick which one fits best.

I kinda wonder how quickly DC will write themselves into a corner with the "Teen" concept. Most of the big sidekicks already have 3-4 generations of legacy built up with 1-2 of them stuck in limbo because of the undying head of household. Grayson initially escaped the trap by becoming his own character entirely, but now he's been sucked back in. Just curious who's in line to become the next Donna Troy of the DCU.

Now I dunno if I'm allowed to do this, but even though I wanted different versions of the GL and Flash, I really would rather like to see other superheros rather than different people playing the same hero. Its just not that big a deal to me that i have all versions of 1 hero. So:

Punisher
Daredevil
Robin (whatever version)(put me down for your favorite lol)
Zauriel (believe it or not)
Aquaman (make him cool out of water and insane in it)

I guess I'm definitely a Grayson guy then. Robin for me is always foremost an acrobat. (I looked around a bit and noticed that for people like me, for whom Batman is as much or even more about TV/Movies (I know, heresy!), that Grayson (an acrobatic Robin) seems to be the most commonly used--though not always.)

Everytime I read something with batman in it, Robin was never there. 99% of my Robin exposure is Dick Grayson, and that's from The Batman Live Action and animated TV series. Then later on the Animated Teen Titans TV series.

To be fair, while the Robin in the Teen Titans cartoon is, technically, Dick Grayson, I'd say he's a version of Grayson that's highly influenced by Tim Drake's character.

I agree, and I hardly know anything. :p

I'm pretty sure they actually mentioned he was Tim in one episode. Like his name was in the background or something.

I don't remember, it's been a while since I've watched it.

This was actually something that was commonly debated by fans of the cartoon. In one episode, Starfire travels to the future and Robin is Nightwing. Also, Raven once entered Robin's mind and it shows Robin as an acrobat in the circus. Both of which are obvious Dick Grayson references.

On the other hand, his costume and staff look very similar to Tim Drake.

Here's a quote by one of the Teen Titan creators, Glen Murakami:
"It was really important to me that little kids watching it could identify with characters. And I thought that the minute you start giving them secret identities then kids couldn’t project themselves onto the characters anymore. And that was important to me. I know it’s kind of important to have secret identities and stuff like that but we wanted everything to be really, really, iconic. Like, "Oh, there’s the robot guy. There’s the alien girl. There’s the witch girl. There’s the shape-changing boy."

In other words, they took what was iconic from multiple Robins and mashed them together into the Teen Titans version.

On a related note, it's been recently confirmed that Cartoon Network will be releasing an new DC cartoon, Young Justice. You can read about it here (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=25886).

I know about the Nightwing part, but I assumed they just did that because it was cool. But I didn't remember the Raven part.

And I'm not a big heavy fan like those people apparently are. I just watched it because I thought Deathstroke was cool. :p

So my original 5 were:
Martian Manhunter
Green Lantern (John Stewart)
Flash (Wally West)
Wolverine
Punisher

Now I dunno if I'm allowed to do this, but even though I wanted different versions of the GL and Flash, I really would rather like to see other superheros rather than different people playing the same hero. Its just not that big a deal to me that i have all versions of 1 hero. So:

Punisher
Daredevil
Robin (whatever version)(put me down for your favorite lol)
Zauriel (believe it or not)
Aquaman (make him cool out of water and insane in it)

Updated.

Guess I like "composite" Robins then . Anyone want to make a Tim Grayson figure for me--or Dick Drake, whichever... ;). Thanks for all your work, guys.

Oh, and if one of your original choices was crossed off, it seems you should be eligible to "replace" it with a new choice. Gotta keep this thread active, right?

1. Ghost Rider
2. Storm
3. Banshee

Will do. I saw the request and thought I'd help you out. The only other change I made was crossing off Huntress. I looked like you had forgot that yesterday. :D
