Ahh, my old homebrew game... Actually, I had an idea for a scenario to use in Automated Heroscape, but need help with designing the map, or at least the Castle. I want to do a themed-army scenario, with one force defending the castle, and the player(s) attacking, to capture the flag or kill the king, whatever. My first thought is for the defending army to be all Soulborg. I don't have the Deathwalker 7000, but I've got all the others, so it could get nasty. Snipers and Blastatrons on the towers and battlements, gladiatrons and Deathwalkers patrolling the drawbridge and courtyard, and the rest lying in wait. It could be quite a challenging scenario, especially if you modify the battle orders for the armies, to make up for flaws in the AI. Imagine, trying to sneak your army of samurai up to the castle, and try to get inside before the ranged units up top see and kill you all.

I have 5 MS, 1 RttFF, 2 VW, 1 TT, and 2 Castle sets. Oh, and every figure except for the heroes from Jandar's Oath (which includes the DW7k). Oh, well. He wouldn't be good on defense anyway. "TARGET SPOTTED!" *BOOM*
"Thank you for taking out that massive door for us!"

I haven't done much map designing yet, but I hope to do some soon. After this scenario gets built and tested, I'd like to try to recreate the old Dark Tower game with Heroscape. Imagine, a huge round landscape, divided into four different countries, with ruins and sanctuaries, tombs and bazaars, and the Dark Tower looming over it all in the middle. Gives me shivers just thinking about it :)

Oh, and while I'm posting, I also had a vague idea about trying to make up rules for destroying castle wall sections. You know, for those really BIG sieges, where the door just isn't going to fall. You'd have to use special attacks, and I have NO idea exactly how well/poorly it would work in practice, but the idea is interesting. Also, how about a house rule for building ladders? You could put them up on the outside of the castle, but since they're not anchored, defenders inside could push them down, and armies on the ladders at the time would have to roll for damage if they fell too far. Sheesh, this post got longer than I thought...

Sorry to ramble, but when I get a new idea, I need to put it out there, or I forget about it real quick.
