Fortunately I'm too young (although not by much) to have seen this until it was dug up recently. What were people on back then had the FDA not been invented yet? Was it the food, lead paint, toys from china? Too much leftover LSD from the 60's? I grew up a true follower of the star wars series until the prequels cam out I though George had finally lost his mind over time but now I found this. Poor George, poor poor George.
Those must have been strange times indeed.

I remember watching this too. I Went over to a frien's house special to watch it. YIKES it is pretty bad. I don't remember it being that bad back then but of course I was 7, what did I know? Makes the Ewok christmas special look good in comparison.

I think in a case like this, you have to consider it as a whole. It was all bad. I kind of wish we had a time machine, and we could all go back in time and boycott anything and everything George Lucas after that abomination. Sure we would miss out on Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi, but we would forever be without Ewoks, Jar Jar Binks, and any inkling that Darth Vader was ever a whiny kid.

I refuse to admit that George Lucas ever had any idea what the hell he was doing when it came to Star Wars. Yeah, the first three are pretty decent, but the prequels sucked and everything else associated with it sucked and the first 3 are filled with plot holes and stupid things. Like why didn't the Death Star blow up the planet that was in the way instead of waiting 30 minutes to orbit around and get in range? Also, why the heck was Darth Vader in a Tie BOMBER to defend the Death Star. None of it adds up.

It helps to remember that Lucas only directed one of the original three.
