Executive producers Ken Biller and Ned Nalle have revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con that the series will return with 22 new episodes on Saturday, November 7 2009.
They also confirmed that Tabrett Bethell will become a series regular in the second season. Bethell appeared in season one in the episode ‘Reckoning’ as the Mord’Sith Cara.
In the episode that kicks off on November 7 Charisma Carpenter (Angel / Greek) will guest star as the Mord’Sith Triana, said to be “wicked” and who will be involved in “intense female army fighting.” Sounds pretty cool.
Production on the second season is currently underway in New Zealand.

So I am very excited for this fantasy series to continue. Season 2 Trailer:

ABC official had this quote for another website:
“At the end of the first season, Richard succeeds in his quest to defeat Darken Rahl, but it remains to be seen whether or not he has truly been destroyed. Richard will soon discover that, in defeating Rahl, he inadvertently opened a rift into the underworld, and he’ll have to deal with those consequences as a war is waged on the living.“
Can't wait to see what is in store for Richard, Kahlan, Zedd and the Mord Sith Cara.

So, are you all fans and what do you have to say about the series?
I like the show though am looking past the slightly poor production quality. The people who made Xena and Hercules bring us the seeker so it makes sense.

NetFlix is da best! No comercials and all the seeking a guy and his wife can handle. Best part is my wife actually enjoys the series although I am waiting to see how she'll handle...A little Mord Sith on Mord Sith action. ;)

You're lucky in that regard, my better half isn't into the genre at all. This will be a 'lunch time' series as I like to call it.
nyys, still loving the new PC he got at work 2 years ago that came with a DVD drive.

My wife just asked me if I would like if she was the Confessor and I was the Seeker.
I said no because when we would wacca-wacca she would confess me against her will and I would be her mindless slave bent to her will.
She asked if she couldn't confess me would I like it.
"Hot babe with magic powers as my wife, Kick assery and the Sword of truth at my disposal, my grandfather is a wizard of the first order... Hellz yeah!"
I sense a bit of role playing...

Glad to see the show is making it to another season! I definitely am a closet fan of the show, and a huge fan of the books. Too bad they didn't include the Kahlan/Con Dur/Demmin Nass scene from the book! I hate it when the evil guys get an easy death...

Any input on how the series deviates fron the books? How are the main characters different in the show from the books?

Never got back to you on this one.
My goodness, it is almost an outrage how much the plot deviated from the books. I was extremely saddened by this seeing as how the original storyline was excellent, but the plot of the show was more along the lines of pretty good. I really don't understand why they did it this way, and I wish they didn't, but I am still a semi-loyal fan of the show and will probably buy Season 1 on DVD.
As far as specifics differences, anyone in particular you want to know about?

Just the stuff that bugs you off the top of your head. I plan on getting the books. I know the show will disappoint me since all book to TV/movies fall short in my opinion though I still love the series.
If you stream Netflix through your TV you get Season one for basically free.

The Boundaries were not at all correct. There was no break in the boundary that people could traverse, leaving Westland completely cut off.
Giller is an example of a redeeming figure in the books.
The Con Dur is much different and occurs at the different time.
Demmin Nass lives longer and suffers a cruel death.
Richard spends a little more time with Denna and things end up very differently.
For a time, Kahlan is suicidal.
Kahlan was always the Mother Confessor
I think that is enough for now! Regardless, each manifestation of the Seeker is unique and entertaining so I'll not complain too much! ;)

P.S. How do I do such a thing as stream Netflix to my TV? I'm assuming it requires an Internet connection at home...

Yup, internet connection, wireless router and a device to connect to the T.V. Currently my XBox 360 is doing the job. So worth it though. Tons of movies and T.V. I have access to instantly and the rest get to me in a day or two. No late fees at all!
Thanks for the run down on the goofed up parts! Remember this weekend is the second season premiere. ;)

O.K. so a litlle rundown on "Marked"
Rip in the barrier that separates the land of the living is breached by the explosion of the box of Ordin that killed Darken Rahl. A skreeling is freed from the underworld. Zed informs the Seeker of the only thing that may repair the barrier is the Stone of tears so they quest for it.
Darken Rahl is dead though comes to a Mord Sith Trina who reveals the Keeper of the Underworld's plot to her. The Mord Sith over throw Cara (leader of the Mord Sith) and leave her to die.
A band of Dragon Corp March to the town where the Seeker is and inform him Darken Rahl and he were brothers and Richard is the next Lord Rahl in turn pledging their allegiance to him.
Richard goes off to claim his throne when and killed the skreeling when they are attacked by rebels. Richard quells the fighting when the towns bell rings and the Seeker finds that Kahlan had fought off invading Mord Sith who had stolen seven of the towns daughters taking them to the drowning caves for training.
Along the way the Dragon Corp and Richard find Cara. She reveals the Mord Sith's plot to trap the seeker and the Dragon Corp aligned with him and slaughter them all.
Zed meets Shota on the way to Isrengard or where ever to find the location of the Stone of Tears. Shota reveals a new prophecy where Zed must name a new Seeker for Richard fails in his quest to defeat the Keeper of the under world. She tells Zed of three signs her words are true.
He will denounce that which gives him power
He will embrace the one in red
He will be marked by the keeper of the under worldAll of which come to fruition and Zed is left with a decision at the end.
The Skreeling is eventually killed by Zed casting a spell of freezing and Richard smashing the skreecicle with the sword of truth which was originally ineffective against it.
Things I have noticed:
Kahlan is real jealous of Richard's trust in Cara.
Richard is looking "edgier" with his scruff
Richard is suposed to be the new Lord Rahl
Sword of Truth doesn't work on the Keeper's creatures
Darken Rahl is still a player in series
The Seeker destroying Rahl with the Sword of Truth and the Box of Ordin was the Keeper's plan to tear the barrier open to free him and his minions
The good guys have a new quest
Richard is not supposed to be Hero due to the prophecyLots to speculate on so let 'er rip!

Hell yeah! Another fan!
Any input on how the series deviates fron the books? How are the main characters different in the show from the books?
Here are a few examples:
In the books, Kahlan is the last living Confessor.
Kahlan didn't have the Book of Counted Shadows, she was trying to find the First Wizard to appoint the Seeker of Truth to stop Darken Rahl.
Richard Cypher had the Book of Counted Shadows since his youth and after he had memorized every word, it was burned.
One of Richard's most prominent features was his piercing gray eyes.
Kind of nitpicky, but the Sword of Truth had the word 'TRUTH' inlaid in gold on the hilt.
I've watched an episode or two and the episode plots also deviated from the book. Just an example:
The Listener episode never happened in the book. The Sisters of Light don't show up until the second book, and Richard doesn't get along with them after their first encounter. The Palace of the Prophets, where the Sisters reside, isn't hidden behind a magical stone wall.
Bruce Spence and Bridget Regan(!) seemed like the only redeeming factors for me.
I'd definitely recommend reading the first two books. The series is okay after that, but Terry Goodkind starts preaching Objectivism pretty heavily later in the series.

Official Legend of the Seeker web site (http://dadt.com/lots/episode_guide.html)
For those of you who cannot find info on the series or are wondering what the heck happened with all the re-runs. Holiday season keeps people from watching and the network didn't want to miss out on ratings so they held it over I guess.
The seventh and newest episode aires on the ninth and is titled "resurrection".
A picture from the new episode from the official website:

Don't know how to make a spolier so I'll hit enter a couple times if you haven't seen the latest episodes.
Cara as a baneling was a pretty good episode but it was sandwiched between the two worst episodes ever!! Okay that last one wasn't too bad after the fighting started and Cara gave up on that ridiculous charade.

Just saw this thread and had to pop in! This show is actually pretty decent. I finished reading the sword of truth novels probably 2 years before I even heard of this show. While the show is hugely different from the novels it's not bad as a stand alone TV show. However, I always imagined Richard, in the novels, as being much buffer than he is in the show. Also, I would have loved to see Zeddicus played by Christopher Lloyd!

In case anyone cares to know.. Legend of the Seeker is rumored to be canceled at the end of the second season. Even the actress that places the Confessor (Bridgett Reagan) and someone close? to the show mentioned it being near the end.
There hasn't been an official word from ABC on its cancellation.
Fans are currently trying to save it, raising almost 10K in donations and getting an ad in Daily Variety on saving the show.
I love this show for what it is: Fun. There really aren't a lot of medieval-ish fantasy shows on the tube anymore and I thoroughly enjoy this show.
