Well with all of this Castle-Wash going on I wanted to see if anyone had re-painted or done a Mod on their castle gate.

I'm presently working on my castle gate (Mom found a set in Kentucky for me) and will post it when done, :D

I just couldn't handle the idea of not having a Grand entrance.

A grand entrance to a castle would be great! Maybe have spikes on it to intimidate your opponent!

Okay guys here is what I have so far, all I need now is to give it a good wash.

I used 2 treacherous concubines (dreamblade) on either side of the door and a Steelborn Lion's (dreamblade) wings and head on the door and above the door.

I used a couple of D&D mini parts for the rest but I can't tell you what I used.

I added a different silver paint on the doors which I'm hoping after the was will make the door look a bit more rough.

I can't give you a formula for the paint I used for matching the castle color because it took 8 different colors during the mixing and several drops here and there. I will be making up another mix when I do the other door and will keep track of the formula then, :D

Excellent, CA! Great use of spare figures (although the Concubine is a good DB figure in the game. :D ) A wash over the statues and outside frame would add some a real nice weathered look to the door.

I give it 5/5

I actually had 4 extra Concubine so I chopped her up. I'm in the proccess of chopping up some Saint of Roses figures for statuettes in my Colleseum map, :D

I don't have a Dreamblade Starter and it's hard to convince most of my game friends to try new games so no dreamblade play for me (but collecting is fun :) ). It's taken me a year to get some to even play a short game of HS or even Killer Bunnies, :?

Saint of Roses are great statues and I kept all the spares to make scenery for HS also. Great minds think alike (or insanity runs along the same frequency...not sure which.) :D

I think the D&D mini on the door is an Aasimar warrior or some such thing. Very awesome...those all fit so well together on that door.

That looks great!! I have absolutely no idea what the gate would have looked like before though - have you got a picture for comparison?

Okay here is a pic of a Seige Tower I've set up for HS. I never set up a card and probably won't (it's a prize in Sept 23rds Tourney), but at least I can share what it looks like, :D

Most all medium figures fit in it and it is Ideal for Gruts. I got it at a Toy Fair where a Guy was selling alot of older wargame sets from Atlantica (sp) I really wasn't willing to pay $100-$150 for the set to get the tower but he had a pre-built one and I somehow convinced him to sell it to me for next to nothing, and after some paint and a few modifications here she is, :)

There are so many things about this seige tower that look alot like the one I'm making like the glyph used as a hex space on the assault ramp I was even thinking of using the official ladders. Verry cool!! Mine has a cannon in the bottom but yours looks like it has a battering ram?

I'm not sure, I think it's actual purpose is to shield warriors. I'm not very good with the history of Seige Weapons but this was origionally intended for 15mm scale minis which looked to be VERY acurate.

The whole thing stands at about 18Hexs high and those little ropes actually work to roll the plank up and down.

Very nice  your stuff never ceases to amaze me, CA. I'm not too clear on how high a castle is - you say that the siege engine is about 18 hexes high. How high is the plank when rolled at 90 degrees to the tower, and how high are standard castle walls? Just trying to picture it... any chances of a pic of your siege tower next to a castle? (doubly cool if it had your custom castle gate in the pic!!!)

The plank meets a 1 level castle wall but you would have to remove one of the wall bits (the little stone thingy) and it lines up nearly perfect, :D

Yeah I stole this from Noodles a while back, maybe I should change it back to "Skull and Crossed Pencils" again, :D
