Hey I recently bought The Hills Have Eyes and was wanting to watch it, but I'm too scared to watch it w/o my girlfriend. She's coming over Friday to watch it, so I had some questions. First off is it extremely gory? Second is do they say the "F" word alot, because she's not too fond of that. I don't know why. Third is it like jumpy scary where things happen that make you jump, because if not then I'll just watch it by myself. Well I'm spent.

Dude, definitely not a chick flick in any sense of the word. The things that happen to the women in that film are grotesque and graphic. I would really recommend not watching it with your girlfriend.

If you haven't unwrapped it ... return the movie (if you can call the garbage that)! It was terrible from start to finish! Go get Silent Hill instead, much better flick by ... I was going to say a mile, but that's way too short!

If you are asking about the original version, dont bother with it - complete horse crap. The recent remake, however, was VERY good in my view, just rather disturbing and violent. I am not normally disgusted or sickened by films, but this one has one particular scene that is really not very nice at all. I honestly dont think your girlfriend will appreciate it - my wife found it really disturbing.
Despite that, I thought it was an excellent film - well worthy of purchase. I dont remember much about the type of language used - that sort of thing doesnt phase me.

Agree with you on Silent Hill, Malechi - very good - saw it a few days ago. Disturbing and true to the series.

I hate jumpy scary things. I'm fine once it's on I just don't like waiting for it when you know it will come. I'm going to get Lucky Number Sleven tomorrow maybe I'll pick up Silent Hill too. thanks guys. I'm spent.

Cough, rape scene, cough. Not all that graphic, particularly compared to something like, say, Perfect Blue's rape scene (which was, however, for a philosophical point, which is more than you can say for the one in Hills Have Eyes), but nonetheless probably not something you want to expose your girlfriend to unless she has a morbid sense of humor and you forewarn her well in advance.

Go get any of the "Faces of Death" movies you can find. Don't worry about the name, it's good wholesome family entertainment!

Better yet, get Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood.
Your girlfriend will love you for it.

Dude she would be like "WTF?!" lol she has a good sense of humor and will watch almost any movie as long as I'm with her. She doesn't care about blood and stuff and if she does she'll close her eyes (or at least that's what I tell myself.) Oh well I think I'm going to go with finishing V for Vendetta then watching Silent Hill, then Lucky # Slevin. I'm spent.

Silent Hill is great, not sure about Slevin or Vendetta though.

I'm glad to hear some approving opinions on Silent Hill. I love the games, and was saddened when Penny Arcade said the movie sucked... maybe it's worth seeing after all... :)

Do watch it! If anything, its too short. (even at over 2 hours long) The special features (at least on the UK version) are great, and hint at several scenes that may have been cut from the film (I didnt recognise them as being in the film ,anyways) I am a H U G E fan of the series, having followed it from day one, and I thought the film was great. Radha Mitchell was great as the lead, and the special effects on some of the creatures was nothing short of amazing - very similar to the games. Great!
