Got Great places to share? Good deals? This is the place to tell us all about it!

I've got a good deal to share. This worked out great for us last year, you can get $25 gift certificates for $2. They usually have some rules about spending $40 or more at most of the Indy Restaurants but it's still a great deal getting $40 of anything for only $17. Especially if they allow alcohol on the tab ;)

Places I HIGHLY recommend are

Dick's Bodacious Bar-B-Q
http://www.restaurant.com/microsite.asp?rid=341163&mcn=00044170
Super close to the Convention center, Great food and cheap prices. Even I missed out on getting a GC here, I'll still be going though.

Search out the areas where you've been, tell me of places you've tried! Good food can be just as important as the Games.

There are other places to get these $2 gc in Indy too. Just go here:
http://www.restaurant.com/
Their $25 Dining Certificates are $15 retail. Enter discount code PORTION during checkout for 80% off entire order. Exp. 8/13. Brings the price down to $2.

Try it out... Share some good times and your fun places

People apparently go to a gaming bar called the Ram.

Only for the BBQ joint, they sell out the 1st of every month there. That good

I've heard several talk about the Ram...

Last year i price-lined a hotel for $25 a night, ended up being a Suite too with a full kitchen. So last year we did some cooking at the hotel. This year we'll probably be spending more time eating out or sticking with snacks.

I'm with Lafleur. A jar of jelly, a can of peanut butter, a loaf or 2 of bread and I'm set for the weekend.

The Ram isn't a gaming bar. It is bar that allows gaming around GenCon time.

Everyone in the North just collectively went "They have peanutbutter in cans????"

eww, no penut butter, and just so everyone knows. I can't even be around people eating peanut butter. Im not alergic to it, but it somehow has a super over powering oder that I can't stand to be around. I can even sometimes stand to eat the stuff if I can get past the smell. If someone eats it around me, I might just have to burn some popcorn just to cover up the smell

Edit: then again from what I've heard about gamer funk, maybe I will want the smell of penut butter in the end.

I usually load up my backpack with prepackaged muffins and bananas from the hotel breakfast lounge. Gets me through the day.

not to self - have peanut butter to screw up lafleurhero's game :)

I bring healthy organic snacks and eat at the breakfast at the hotel and bring teh fruit they have with me - I don't eat out at all.

Claddagh irish pub has good food too, but they don't let minors in (might be just for dinner).

Gen Con food?

Don't eat Steak n' Shake at 1 in the morning. This comes from experience.
