San Diego Comic Con began this morning with a little surprise from the NECA booth.

They are currently selling Thor's Chariot, which had been previously announced by Wizkids (prior to Topps shutting them down) would be an exclusive figure for the Hammer of Thor set, which was never produced. it is also currently available to purchase on amazon.com and will ship August 15th.

An announcement is expected shortly that NECA has minimally purchased the rights to the Heroclix brand, and possibly bought the entirety of Wizkids.

Early reports point to a fall release of the set. Nothing has been solicited at this point. Thor's Chariot is marked as collector's number #62 in the Hammer of Thor set.

More figures to convert to Heroscape!

That sums up my interest in this news in a nutshell. ;)

From what I've been able to glean from the HCRealms site, Hammer of Thor was supposed to contain figures from the Runaways, right?

I would like to see a return to glory for Mage Knight. I still like the game to this day. I go to a site called Dungeon Crawlers that has a home brew game rule-set they call Mage Knight Dungeons Outdoors. Basically MK Dungeons on an outdoor map similar to Heroclix.

Well, news out of GenCon makes it official - Heroclix will return in November, beginning with the Hammer of Thor expansion. Here's a link:

Not only will the Runaways now be available as minis for our Marvelscape customs, but for the customs designers hard at work on vehicle rules it looks like a Batmobile mini is planned for a future release.

Here's a blurb on dungeoncrawlers.com about the aquisition: http://www.dungeoncrawlers.com/

I hope Mage Knight comes back, especially as a Dungeon game. MK Dungeons was always misguided genius of Wiz Kids.
