Now that wave 5 has rolled in an all soulborg army is very plausible. On those lines what do you think the best soulborg army will be? My bet is on this army:

Blastrons 1x- 120pts

Gladiatrons 2X -160pts

Deathreavers 1X -40pts

DW9000 -140pts

Is there anyother armies that you think could make the competitve cut?

(roborats 10X dosn't count.)

either roborats x3
galdiatrons x2
and blastatrons x2

or...

roborats x1
galdiatrons x3
blastatrons x2

(DW9K is 140 points not 120)

Well, once Wave 5 stats were revealed, I said the Blasted Cheesy Reaver army would be a significant tournament force:

2 x Glads
2 x Blasts
3 x Reavers

But Any army with Q9 in it is competetive, in my mind, since he's a good counter to many army builds.
And yeah - DW9K is 140 points. Even though he SHOULD be priced at 120.

I run:
2x Glads
2x Blasts
1x X17

It works really well, and I like it a good bit. It can be as mindless or as strat envolved as you really want it to be and as situation demands.

I would like to run:
5x reavers
2x stalkers

missing 3x reavers and a map with a large enough starting zone ^^.

How many tourney maps have that many starting spaces though?

I swicthed my army to Blastrons 1X, Gladiatrons 2X, Deathreavers 1X, and Deathwalker 9000. (I forgot about DW9 being 140 instead of 120.)

I just played a game with this army as I've been dying to try it out, but got my @ss handed to by a Arrow grut type army. I think I got the B'tron/G'tron combo to work once late in the game (which worked pretty effectively) but I think I would change this up to get more B'trons and nix DW9k as he's too much of a liability. Granted this was only one game and it could have been any number of reasons why I lost but G'trons lose out pretty early so 2 squads might not be enough and I think 2 B'trons are sufficient. DW9k adds alot but he's expensive for serving the function of adding 2 range. The rats I'm not satisfied with either (that's in a different thread) as I seem to always lose with them no matter what army I'm playing with. I'll have to do more testing with this group but right now I'm leaning towards dropping DW9k and the rats and subbing in Q9. Otherwise going with:

2 Blastatrons
3 Gladiatrons
1 Nakita

Oops, this isn't keeping with the theme but... oh well. I'll try the Q9 substitution or 3 Deathreavers (I think someone already posted this)

dw9k? I believe 8k's rapid fire would werk better than 9k's...

humm lemme go look..

8k would be a better choice than 9k imho...but I think preferably I'd go with a couple units of blastatrons... that ability to move the gladiatrons and than have extra attack from them is just huge..esp if ye add in height advantages, etc..

that's a good sign as I was hoping this combo wasn't just "good on paper."

Anything with Q9 in it, he rocks my world any time I fight it. The rest are his cheering section.

Finally, someone mentions Q9!

Here's mine:

Q9 = 180
1x Blastotrons = 60
1x Gladiatrons = 80
2x Deathreavers = 80

However, I played this other one a few weeks ago and it worked out really well.

Q9 = 180
1x Deathstalkers = 100
1x Deathreavers = 40
1x Raelinatron = 80

(Okay, so the last one isn't a Soulborg, sue me! She and Q9 together are an unstoppable force!)

I posted this army a while back in the Blastatron discusion.
It works pretty well for me.

About three times, but I was playing myself each time, but I didn't rig it to where this army would win. It was pretty close each time though so it isn't completely stable.

I once used EVERY SOULBORG EVER MADE[excluding DW7k] AND IT WAS AWSOME!!

It occurs to me that, oddly enough, multiple soulborgs solves the problem of the ONE missed roll. Hmmm, I may have to try it out...

Ive always like the blastitrons, even tho I find it difficult to use them without Gladiatrons (its freakin impossible to find Gladiatrons these days!!!) :(
