So, Walmart is offering an exclusive DVD set of Star Wars episodes 4-6 in their original format. Ummm, why? They still have stacks of the silver and platinum special editions laying around. Talk about sucking the collective spirit to the bone.

:lastweek:

wow - a gamer doesn;t know about the Orignal Trilogy being released opn DVD finally?

And apparently, he doesn't even have a staunchly-held opinion about how bad the Special Editions are of the OT and how Lucas raped his childhood by fiddling with the pure nirvana that is the OT's that are coming out everywhere soon. 8)

If I'm like a reasonable number of people, I'd buy the original movies on DVD in the original format before the new and "improved" format. I liked SOME of the things that were added/modified in the new version, but if I only buy one set, I'm buying the unadulterated movies.

Lucas claimed up and down that the originals would NEVER EVER be released again. when he releasted the SE's. Which I knew he was full of crap...Low and behold. Mr.moneyfingers brings out the cucumber and rubber glove for another round to his small remaining fan base. Lucas can blow me. As long as he shaves first. There is no reason this asspipe couldnt have put both versions on the one set. He did it cuz he knew nobody would buy the SE ones, cuz he knew he messed most of them up. Empire is the only one that is not flawed with the enhancements. But it kicked azz before he touched it, so it didnt' need much.

Jabba scene in first movie. Looks like a big dog turd. AWEFUL. Completely aweful. How could he look at that and say, that looks good. lets put it in the movie. Idiot.

Jedi- all of a sudden sy snoodles is replaced with a singing dancing Peanut? WTF. Holy crap, it's amazing that anything lucas has touched (director wise) since he directed the original star wars in 1977 has gone to pot. This guy is an idiot and got lucky with a story he first wrote. I have a feeling if it wasnt' for someone else directing ESB and ROTJ, Star wars would have been flushed right then and there. Which may have been a better way to go, instead of getting our hopes up that he knew what he was doing. Did I mention Lucas is an Idiot golddigger?

Looks like the ones at Amazon will have both the original and the extended versions on the same DVD.

The Walmart Exclusive also comes with a huge Marvel comic of the movie. They are remakes of the ones I remember having as a kid. Even have the 30 cent price tag in the corner. I hope they come out in the old non-glossy paper like the old days too.

BTW- dont tell reaper  . Then again, I am sooo sure he already knows  .

i have them as well. I also have super sized comics that have the entire movie in two issues. They are 3 x's the size of a normal comic. Made by marvel, just has the 6 issues made into two. Original from 1977.

I also have the old comics, including the ongoing stories, like when Han and Chewie help an alien fight bigotry so he could bury his Cyborg buddy in the local boot hill.
