View Full Version : What are the chances that Target has stock now

Target stopped selling HS a while ago right? I don't know how long ago but, I recently read in the UPC post that Target doesn't return old mechandise, they keep in the back (if there is room I guess).
So if I went to my local Target do you think they would have any in the back? I am so tempted to take the UPC print out and scan them to see what comes up.
On a side note, as I was walking through Target this afternoon, I was looking down all of the toy aisles looking for any signs of 'Scape. I thought back a few years when it was always a cool adventure to go to a Target and see what HS goodies were on the shelves. It was sad to not see any on the shelves at Target today.

Target doesn't have any Heroscape right now. If information serves me correctly, Wal-Mart found that Heroscape was a popular and well-selling product, and bought all of Waves 9 and the reprint of 1 from WotC. If so, Target is going to be vacant of Heroscape for a long time.
I can feel your pain! I always used to walk through Target and found great Heroscape there. I found Waves 1,3,4,6,7, Raknars Vision, Tundra, and the Forest set at my local Target. I even bought my first master set there.
If you ask me, Target should be the main supplier of Heroscape. They always had it in stock and for a low price.

You are wrong on this...Target and ToysRUs tried to strong arm WOTC when they took over Heroscape into giving them a lower price as did WalMart and Kmart. WOTC stood its ground and said no, so they all decided to stop carrying it. WalMart realized their mistake and bought out the remaining stock of Wave 8 from WOTC.

What does HEB mean?
And is Wal-Mart gonna have HS in stock again?

Not quite right.
Yes Target does not return product, they discount it down until it sells or hits $ X.X4. What that means is that when you see 4 as the last digit on the clearance price it means it's been marked down as low as it will go. If it does not sell then the product is sent to Good Will, Target has a national agreement with them.
So what ever Scape they might have had left has been cleared out ages ago @ Good Will.

Yup, there was a rash of Goodwill sitings not too long after Target went out of the Scape business.
I didn't know the $x.x4 thing though, thanks for that tip, Hahn!

I work for Target right now, and this information is correct. It's marked down, marked down some more, marked down to almost free, and then if it's still on the shelf- it's given to Goodwill. I have never heard of the "4" as the last digit thing, but that may be true.
And, unless it's by some fluke, there isn't any 'in the back'. Target has a very strict in-stocks policy/procedure.

Most Walmarts near me have Scape, but they are all stuck in different eras it seems. The WM by my work is still mostly Reavers/Ashra and Nakitas/Glads last time I checked (they did have a couple of Wave 8 packs, so that is cycling, while the old stuff sits). My closest WM to home is a mix, a couple of things from Waves 5-8, never sure what you'll see.
Up the way street a ways the WM cut boosters altogether (and the one to my south might have cut them as well). But the WM by Blue Dane (off to the west) has been excellent about keeping up with the newest releases. They were the best for the Wave 2 reprint (BD generously picked up two more sets of Knights for me ).
Other South Florida Scapers report stores that still mostly have Wave 6 and ones that are stuck in other phases/cycles. Seems like WM is having some trouble figuring out how to deal with Scape. Somebody orders a bunch (all the same) at one store and then that sits for a long while... Same thing is happening at the other stores as well, mostly.
Target was more consistent, that's for sure. Now I support my FLGS mostly.

I have a ton of Wal-Marts that only carry wave 8. I don't know why you guys are complaining about having earlier waves, online you can get newer waves cheaper, and older waves more expensive. Oh well, I guess it gets really annoying when all Wally's have only one wave.

Oh, I wasn't complaining. It is nice to know that there are still Zombies and Rats/Ashra around, actually. It is, though, annoying that you have to try to keep track of which WM is most likely to have which--and which have any chance of bringing in new things at all...

Oh sorry, bad choice of words on my part. I knew you weren't complaining.

Target hasn't had anything in a long time. Most of the WM in my area have Marvel, if anything.
Unless I'm missing some? ;)

Dont suppose if anyone knows if the WM's in Canada carry the same stock? I keep checking my local WM every week and they have a whole lot of nothing.

Trying to find any Scape at WM is the most annoying thing ever. You may or may not get lucky and if they have anything it's certainly nothing you need. The last WM I found anything good at was with Ry in Dallas. I found a few hero packs I needed but that was a total random find at best.
