Laser Battle

I just saw the commercial for this board game, and it looked really neat. Has anyone else played it?

I put this on layaway at WalMart along w/3 Heroscape Castles and some castle building card game that looked fun. I wanted to try it w/my son. *Sigh* it's still on layaway...

is that a laser pointer laser or remote control type stuff.if its a laser that would be cool to make it look like tree stump or something and use it for line of sight but its probably not because kids would be blinding themselves and i just realised that while i was typing this. :oops:

There's another laser game called Deflexion (though the company will soon be changing the name to Khet).

It's been around about a year -- enough to have gathered 282 ratings at BGG with an average score of 7.3. Not a bad score at all! It also won a "Mensa Select" Game Award, so you know it's got some solid game mechanics and strategy.

Anyway, I wanted to mention it because it's stood the test of time a bit longer than Laser Battle (which has only 1 vote at BGG) so you might want to compare the two and see which sounds better to you.

It's got an Egyptian theme too, and I've always been a sucker for the Egyptian/sci-fi combo.
