Mage Knight figure stats loose

I just purchased some figures from ebay and 4 of the figures have the stat sheet separated from the click base and will not spin with the base. When I separated the click base the paper falls out. What is the best way to reattach the paper to the base? Will a normal glue stick work, or should I buy a special adhesive?

Also these figures came from a smoker's home, how do I remove the smoke smell from them? Can I separate the base then submerge the figure in soapy water for a couple hours in dish soap? Any ideas or help would be appreciated!

A touch of super glue will hold the paper to the base. Not sure about the smell. You could try the soapy water trick on a single figure to see if it will work.
