The last few months I have been pondering over an idea... wether it would be of any use, how it would work etc.

There are army builders etc out there, this is not quite what I have in mind... but the result is players making armies.

What I invision is a web based program, programmed in Flash or something, so no one has to trust .exe files, so it works in MAC and PC, and so it may even work with smart phones and hand held web devices.

I do not have the programing background to make what I have in mind, I basically know Javascript, HTML, Basic, and some c++... not enough to do what is needed.

It will need a server side database, and almost a multi-player-game like interface, and likely a chat/message log.

I invision a host of a tournament or event, logging in creating a "game" with a name and password... and allowing those that intend to show up at the event to join the game. Once everyone has joined, the host can choose to have 1 of each army card, or import a list of what army cards will be available at the event. Players can then take turns drafting an army card. This can be done by having everyone log in all at once, or even when ever they feel like over a weeks time... as often as they browse this forum maybe.

This way tournaments can make better use of the DRAFTING side of heroscape, by not having to use up time drafting and getting right to the gaming.

I would like it if it had a few styles of drafting, one the standard method in the rule book, and maybe a randomized draft, and a way to draft free style, by showing a graphic of all the cards and let those hosting determine the drafting rules...

If anyone programs this, they could potentially leave it open for other games, warhammer for example (but im sure warhammer likely already has something similar out there, I dont play it so not sure on that one).
