Sudema is a poor man's Braxas. Sonya is a sidekick. Raelin v.2 is not as good as her older sister. Dzu-teh (pronunciation?) don't live up to their full potential unless there's lots of snow.

So that leaves the Monks and Wolves.

Wolves. Pounce is neat. Dorklord bonding finally blew the dust off Khosumet.

Monks excell in coolness, but haven't translated that to the battlefield.

Man...tough choice.

Shaolin Monks are the "best" coolest units here. That is not saying a lot. But maybe this will convince you to vote...

Some people have said that the Monks have not translated very well to the battlefield. How strongly I disagree. Even though I don't have Master Woo, and only one squad of Monks, they always perform well and kill their worth. The very first time I played them, they took out a squad of Sentinels on their own, and more. Sure, they would be awesome with 4 defense, but we can't have everything our way, can we?

They get my vote for all the times they have Stealth Leaped around, and punched a few faces in.:twisted:

I'm going with Raelin, though she is not as good as the other Raelin, she still rocks the battle field! I hope the wolfs do not win this one because I really don't like them. Pounce is pretty much a suicide move if you are going up against any hero!

I went with Red Sonya. I once killed an entire squad of Krav with her after I lost Cyprien, and I like the flavor behind all of her abilities.

I have the Dzu-Teh second, because in random draft games with my playgroup back in Florida they would always be picked to fill out points and hand out ass kickings without any snow.

No, but we should remind him about the size restriction.

(Pounce only works on Small or Medium figures).

I don't see any of these units going any farther... especially since whomever wins this has to deal with the Marro Stingers and Syvarris, something I doubt anyone in this poll can do.
That being said, I haven't played the Wolves of Badru enough, so I'm going to have to vote for the Monks, who are probably either the second best or best in this group in-game. Raelin (SoTM) wins on sculpt, but not much else.

Raelin's sculpt from SotM works with the different stats she has. She looks much more aggressive in SotM as she works the whole Avenging Angel look.

Every time I bring up 'new Raelin' in a conversation with spider, he says that he'd still rather have Raelin and eat the 40 points. I think he might even switch their points if it were up to him. It's a running joke now... when I'm coming up with armies, I always have to include new Raelin at least once, and I still keep convincing myself that it's a good idea.

This may be the first poll that I won't get at least 1 point.... I went with Raelin then Sonya. I couldn't bring myself to go with the wolves since my cousin has torn me many a new one with them in past battles.. all the while screaming "POUNCE!!!" before rolling.

I love me some SOTM Raelin! Maybe it's just the people I play with, but one Summoning glyph and original Raelin is toast. Not to mention just being a big squishy target in general once the battle gets really hot. But the NEW Raelin is a fighting force unto herself, especially against squads.

Anyhow, she looks cooler and is more useful than any of the other units in the list. Although Sudema is some fun stuff for sure.

SotM Raelin is great and all, but assuming that RotV Raelin makes it to the second round (about as safe an assumption as I think we could make in this tourney), I can't really justify voting for SotM Rae.
Not to mention the fact that this battle has my two very favorite 80-point common squads with three figures, six move, one range, three attack, three defense, synergy with one otherwise not-very-useful hero, and some of leaping special ability.

I wouldn't say she doesn't have a chance. Sudema, Sonya, and the Dzu-Teh don't have a chance. I admit Raelin making it to #1 is slightly improbable but these games are toping out around 160-170 votes and we're only at 150... Dang! She doesn't have a chance, does she? :|

I (like most of the other players on HeroScapers) prefer the RotV Raelin v1.0 but my wife is stuck on the SotM Raelin. She likes to fly her into the middle of my army and Whirlwind Attack. Then, whoever is left standing (most of them usually) quickly destroy her.

I actually like Rae 2.0 (not nearly as much as 1.0); I just don't want two Raelins in the second round. That's boring to me, especially considering that we all know how that battle would turn out. Totally agree, and if I could make it so that only one of them was out there, it would be SotM Rae. She's one of the most balanced units in all of HS, and they did a great job redesigning her. The only thing wrong with her is that she's practically undraftable in a world where RotV Rae exists.
But, for me, this one's all about the awesomeness of the Monks and the Wolves. Those two units are about as fun to play as they come.
