Just found this...

http://www.hasbro.com/heroscape/default.cfm?page=browse&product_id=16574

Seems to have the old prototype boxes for wave 2.5

September 2nd, 2006, 12:26 PM
Yeah, those are the early mock ups. Note there are only 4 large figures in the Orm's Return (still called Zorlac's Quest at the time) box.

http://images.etoys.com/g/toys/hires/362020B.jpg

The text mentions not what is pictured as it mentions Lindesfarme and shows Laur, mentions Thaelenk Tundra ands shows Forgotten Forest...

Whats funny is that it show RttFF and says the Snow expansion.

Seems to be the TT and RV combo pack, but they could have least put the right picture.

The price is only 19.99 though. I doubt you get both.

This is like the third time in the past month this box has been posted with a thread about it, no?

Malechi
September 3rd, 2006, 11:22 AM
Each thread is on a slightly different subject. I.E. In this thread Zim believed he had found a combo offer 2 for 1 when it was simply an ad for the two sets using the incorrect pix.

I debated on whether this was News or Gen Discussion. Please move it if I posted inappropriately.

Has anyone else seen the large expansion assortment on the Hasbro site. It looks like they are planning on selling RV and TT as a combo for $19.99. Do you really think they will do that. How awesome would that be. I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up since the pics they show are not what's in the description of the combo. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D 8) 8) 8)

It even has its own SKU: 42775

I'M GONNA GET SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!!!

that looks weird, those are the old mock up images from before those sets came out... and the descriptions are way too cheesey and inaccurate for that to be what they'd go with officially... "5 Dragons, 3 Awesome snow figures"... odd

I'm not trying to kill a dream here, but I doubt that price will hold. As the combo is currently priced, this is a 'BOGO' kind of deal, and I just don't see the Hasbro stock for Wave 4.5 so backed up that HBTS.com has to go this route. If anything, I could possibly see Hasbro do something like this for Wave 2.5, but certainly not for the newer sets.

It's also VERY odd that the placeholder image they're using are the prototype packaging images for 2.5. They could have easily merged the current box images for 4.5 to achieve the same display image, with two sets in the same frame.

Whatever... I guess we just have to sit back and see how this pans out.

The people who put it up were probably given the wrong files from a boss who has no idea what the hell he gave them. The boos just grabs a file or disc that says RV or HS Large Expansion and handed it to the web guys.

He doesn't care what he gave them was probablyt given the task by a higher up who had no idea what the product was who was given his order by another higher up who knows even less. It comes from poor comunication in the Hasbro ranks and I imagine that the whole offer is like that.

Once someone in the company actually realizes the mistake I'm certain people progressivly down the ladder will be getting a new one ripped.

Or I could be wrong, it may not be miscommunication or a lazy boss,

SKU 42775 is the SKU on a mixed expansion pack. If it's 427750000, it's the Orm's/Forest mixed pack; if the SKU is 427750001, it's the mixed Thaelenk/Raknar pack. Each of these cartons has 3 boxes in it. I've gotta' think that someone screwed up somewhere with this listing.

They can't have a backlog of RV, because I haven't even SEEN it. It has never made it here to any WM, Target, TRU, etc.

Now, ask me if I'm happy about that?!

Merged; as -Zim- had found the same ad a week earlier ...

Basically, it ain't the real deal people.

There are about 7 of them at my local Target store...Maybe they shipped them all here...if you can get your hands on the SOulborgs and Elves expansion and the Gorillas and Hounds expansion we can probably work something out...

Maybe 19.99 for the case of three is the wholesale price for distibuters?

Maybe 19.99 for the case of three is the wholesale price for distibuters?

In your dreams...or in my dreams! The wholesale price of a single box is just a couple dollars less than the $19.99 price in the ad. You guys have no appreciation of how tiny the margins are on this stuff. It's no mystery why most game stores won't touch this game.

Oh well...I guess you were right. I just noticed that the combo pack is no longer of the offical site. Must've been a snafu..

I suppose we will continue to hunt the local stores for the missing pieces to our collection. :) :)

At least that will keep me out of trouble and my son and I will have something to look forward to when we go out....HS Hunting!!!!! :D :D

Has anyone figured out what this is yet? Is this deal from amazon legit?

Hey guys. This is my first post. I just got Heroscape for my birthday this week and am already hooked and freaking out over how hard it is to find sets.

Anyway, I ordered this "assortment" from Amazon last week and I will let you know what it is when it arrives. Unfortunately, it isn't expected to ship until Oct 26 and that is an estimate as it's not even in stock yet. I sure hope its what is advertised (2 boxes).

I also ordered this

http://www.amazon.com/42623-Heroscape-Expansion-Set-Assortment/dp/B000GBA5ZS/sr=8-3/qid=1159510759/ref=pd_bbs_3/002-7907197-2409636?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games

From the product description it sounds like its just the Soulbourgs and Elves pack but I sent Amazon an email and they told me it is actually the 4 pack set. The package weight seems to confirm this.

Thanks for writing to Amazon.com.

I browsed our web site for you and found this item, "Heroscape
Expansion Set Assortment," is a pack of four. You would get all the
four packs on its purchase as shown on our website for $9.99.

I hope this is what you wished to find. I've also included some
information below about finding products on Amazon.com that you may
find helpful in the future.

Thanks for shopping at Amazon.com.

Best regards,

Shahed

Welcome to game, Hex Sinister!

if that is 4 boosters for $10, then its a phenomenal deal. I'm a bit skeptical, but we'll see. If you do just end up with one booster, its still a fair trade.

Most people do their shopping in Brick and Mortar stores like Walmart, Target and Toys R Us. There are other regional stores like Fred Meyer and Meijer that carry HS as well. Walmart and Target both sell booster packs for $10 a pop, which is the best your gonna get.

Just to outline your future collection :D, there are 4 terrain packs, 2 large hero packs, 5 'waves' of boosters containing 4 packs each, and 3 exclusive units. You don't have to buy them all at once, so take your time :)

Also, make sure to buy more than one of a common squad when you have the cash. Multiple common armies are a lot of fun to play.

Oh yeah, a lot of people buy online. The most popular destinations are www.housemousegames.com (this sites sponsor) and www.hasbrotoyshop.com (the official store).

Have fun and happy scaping!

Thanks, CornPuff.

Yeah, you guys got me skeptical too but this was the best deal I could find so far. You can tell I already had doubts beforehand since I sent them a request for clarification lol. Anyway, one large expansion and one squad pack for like $32.50 total is a square deal since its free shipping. But if its what is advertised then I'll jump for joy.

I've scoured ALL the local stores and haven't found any bargains (squads at my 2 Walmarts are $13) but I'm gonna keep looking after hearing about all the crazy prices that I've seen on this board. I did pick up Volcarren at TrU ($20 after tax)after seeing it go on eBay for nearly $30 or so (after shipping)! I would have rather started with the bridge set as recommended but I heard this was out of production...

Sorry for going off topic a bit.

I just ordered the combo of this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GBA5ZS/ref=pd_luc_21_lc_a415914x33_r1c2_a2_i/102-6682535-1901726?ie=UTF8) and this (http://www.amazon.com/Heroscape-Large-Expansion-Set-Asst/dp/B000GB8IOI/sr=8-2/qid=1159978181/ref=pd_bbs_2/102-6682535-1901726?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games). Alltogether came to $30.

If things goes as I hope it'll be a major score with 4 small boosters and 2 large expansions for only $30! Assuming they go badly and I get only 1 small boster and 1 large expansion I haven't really lost anything either as this would be normal store price.

= win win siutation.

Hmmm, did you chance to confirm the booster combo was for all 4 and not just one???

I actually did call Amazon for the tundra/hero combo and CS did tell me that price did get both... so if its true for the other I will be adding to my order for sure!

I placed an order and then sent an e-mail asking them about it. Here is what they said:

"We're sorry, but we are unable to check the complete and physical details of an item for you. Our information is limited to what the manufacturers supply to us, and all of this information appears on our web site.

If you wish to contact the manufacturer directly with your question, here is the contact information for Hasbro:

http://www.hasbro.com

Hasbro Games, Consumer Affairs Dept., P.O. Box 200, Pawtucket, RI
02862
Phone: 1-888-836-7025
Alternate phone: 740-927-6056
Fax: 740-927-6058

I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com."

My guess is that you will only receive what you would expect for the price - one large expansion for $19.99 and one booster for $9.99.

I sent another question in without it linked to my order and basically asked "What do I get if I order these?" A different person answered my question, but they gave me the same answer... :(

I'm going to cancel my order as I only was hoping to get something cheap. Those of you who ordered, please, keep us updated on the results.

I'm not sure... if you look at the individual components you see another combo.

http://www.amazon.com/Heroscape-Large-Expansion-Set-Terrain/dp/B000GF352O/ref=pd_sbs_t_4/002-6354766-6000820?ie=UTF8

Look a little below the top of the page.

If you check the weight of the deal, it is a lot more then the individual components.

I called Amazon CS about the TT-combo directly the other day... the person looked it up and told me directly that it was for BOTH of the expansions for that price.

I didn't do the same for the boosters.... perhaps if someone did and could update us all??? please :)

Well as of this morning both the assortments in question have a new listing, "Currently Unavailable". A big change from "In stock soon, pre-order now". I hope this just means that they are out of stock before they are in stock (sold out) :?

Well it was first come first served.

The same thing happened when they did the pre-order on the Xbox in November of 2001. The pre-sale was supposed to last for four hours. They were sold out of their pre-order alotment in less than 90 mins. I was one of the lucky, no life havin' fools that sat there and clicked the refresh button in final minutes until the buy now appeared on the site. I'm hoping that is the case here again.
