I watched this trailer last night and just sat there at my computer. Finally, when I caught my breath, I just said, "Wow!"

I haven't been this excited about a James Bond movie since the early 90s. I think they made a good choice replacing Pierce Brosnan. The trailer looks like 007 meets The Transporter!

Eeeeh, I have seen about 10 of the Bond movies (Connery, Sellers, Moore and Brosnon - never saw the truck driver's movie however) thoughout the years ... I couldn't tell you a single storyline from any of them. I'll pass.

He is never...NEVER going to match up to Sean Connery. I havent really been hyped up about this movie, because I think they could have done a better job in picking the replacement 007. Ill probably watch it, because it does look better than the previous few, which I have not watched.

Watching Alias kind of turned me off of James Bond. The stories tend to be a little shallow, and they don't have enough of the gadgets anymore. It made espianoge seem so glamorous when it is probably quite the opposite. Combine that with the bit about how every woman in the James Bond universe is in one of three camps: Bond's been there, Bond's going to be there next week, and below Bond's standards. The only woman in that universe that doesn't want Bond is Moneypenny (and the new beeyotch of an M).

Whoah, A M, were you watching James Bond? Moneypenny wants him so bad, she can't stand it. That's been a recurring theme for decades. You should watch On Her Majesty's Secret Service when he gets married. She about has a nervous breakdown.

I know that Bond is campy and passe' in our modern world, but I've not seen the level of physical action that is shown in this one in any Bond movie to date.

P.S.: Go get somewhere w/that Sean Connery stuff. I grew up on Roger Moore.

Here is some trivia for fans out there. I mentioned OHMSS above. How many times did George Lazenby portray James Bond? No fair going to IMDB.

He is never...NEVER going to match up to Sean Connery.

Four words, "Never, say Never again".
Seriously, some people have to let that go. Very tired.

I grew up a Big Bond fan, I've seen them all, with exception of the last couple.

Heres my "Bond Breakdown".

Pierce B. I always thought Bronsnan was a bad choice.
I caught the last one he did and it was complete garbage, except that part when Halle Berry was on screen.

Tim Dalton. I'm pretty sure "The Living Daylights" was his first. I thought that one was good. I thought he showed real promise. But his following movies were not very good. I don't blame the actor in this case though.
Unlike Moore, who could "sell" a silly plot or dialouge, Timmy just couldn't.
It was rumured the the Brocoli(?) family was getting ready to "shut down" the franchise for many years during Tim's run.

Roger. Ah... you never forget your first do ya? Campy, but good. Again a lot depends on the story and, in Moore's case, the big action sequence.
"For your Eyes Only" was a bit darker than say, "Octopussy" but I think both were good Bond films.

George. I could be the only person who liked "On her Majesty's Secret Service". I did not like that he got married, but it was in the books too, so I guess it's okay.
You just know she was going to die.
They wanted him to do more. He's the one who said no I think.

Connery. He really did set the "Goldenfinger" standard for all bond films.
I don't think he made a bad one, except the last one.
The remake of "Thunderball".
C'mon, secret base under a volcano? Pure awesome.

I'm not counting the first "Casino Royal", not really Bond.

Having ranted enough, I'll step down off the Bond soap box.

But I will be seeing that new film.
no doubt about that.

WRONG!

But thanks for throwing it out there.

Here is the answer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086191/).

It never actually says it, but if you watch it, you'll see. Plus check out his character's name. ;)

Oooh, good one!

I had to look up the name of the actor, so I won't post it, but I can tell you that this was an American version of James Bond from the television show Climax! (I had to look up the name of the show as well :( , but I knew the rest of this). I actually have a copy of this very program on VHS. I bought at a convention about 5 years ago. I've never watched it and should do so, especially since the hour long presentation was an adaptation of the very movie in question, Casino Royale.

I actually tried to watch the Woody Allen version but could not make it through it. I've always hated Woody Allen. :verymad:

I can't get into the new movie. I'm not a big fan of the choice of the new Bond. He just doesn't seem to have the charm of a Sean Connery, Roger Moore, or Pierce Brosnan for that matter. I think it will be one and out for him, much like Timothy Dalton.

Easy, Thunderball. The other was Never Say Never Again. Horrible remake of Thunderball! And not considered part of the James Bond Canon as it was not produced by Cubby Broccoli or MGM/UA. In 1982 McLory wins a legal battle and can produce an "independent" Bond film. "Never say never again" (NSNA) is one of the two "unofficial" 007 films made outside EON (the other is the 1967 comedy spoof "Casino Royale"). NSNA is a remake of "Thunderball" and stars the original Bond, Sean Connery -who comes back to the role after many years of absence.
