anyone got a good tactic they use to kill Dead-eye? My opponent for today has him (if i can get in touch with him) and will probably be using him, and i was wondering if anyone has come up with a good method of destroying him without him doing too much damage.

MBS. Run at him, paralyze him, and fire away. At most, he'll have one chance to Sharpshoot. If he hits, back MBS up with Venocs. It's almost a waste of a shot to Ullar Enhanced Rifle them. Besides, if he misses, you're all the better.
Gorillas are good, too, since they have high speed and can get to height on him pretty quickly, plus the range thing.
Mimring is another good thought, since he'll be able to reach him from such a distance.
Basically, any ranged unit or squad has a gross range over him. Since he has to remain in place to use his specials, his gross range is 10. The Gorillas have 13, Mimring and MBS 14. Krav has 13, Marros 12, etc.

You need to box him in so he cannot easily escape. If he is over water or lava, you need fliers or slitherers. Fliers work for height. Ranged units are fine as long as you can close the gap (not too hard if you have move 5 and range 7).
Remember, his defense and life are really not all that great. If you will have difficulty reaching him on most maps, it will probably be due to other figures protecting him.
Last point. Try using LOS blocking to force him to move to attack. That will nullify his special powers.

i might have to go with MBS. I don't have the Venocs or the Gorillanators, so i would have to be really lucky with MBS...

Well even if he doesn't PS, he should be able to take out DED in a shootout.

How about a Venoc Warlord and Theracus commando assault force?
VW adds 2 to Theracus' move, so he can move 9.
By carrying the VW, and placing him in front of Theracus you have can advance VW 10 spaces in 1 turn.
You may even be able to get a swipe in with Theracus if you can get him adjacent to DD in that 1st move.
Then on turn 2 & 3 attack with VW's 4 dice, and you should be able to take DD out.

DED has a glass jaw, and dies very easy. Any unit, can take DED down pretty fast and quick. The question should read. How can I keep DED alive long enough to kill something on the board.

well, i don't have DED, so it's all good. He made the mistake of moving DED into range of a Sniper with +2 HA. needless to say, i rolled all 3 skulls.

I took him out with braxas once...got lucky on a d20 roll. Usually if my oppnenents throw figures the likes of syvarris or dead eye....I try to throw whatever I have at them first to take em out as quickly as possibly....but I don't have a tried and true method as of yet.

The ideal scenario involves a little timing and luck. Use the Airborne Elite. Even if you don't get the initiative, provided you make the activation roll, you can still drop them in and get a good shot at taking him out.

Any hero should be able to take out DD Dan with minimal problems. Unless he risks the snipe and rolls a 20.
Deadeye Dan never is a real threat in our games. I guess if he picks his one life targets well he can earn back his points with only a couple of kills.
On castles he is mean though...

i don't have mittens :(. MBS managed to get a wound on him before becoming engaged with 2 snipers. I rolled a 15 for PS and 2 skulls. He blocked one, and i abandoned him until i noticed DED moved into the castle, and in range of a sniper i had just posted up there. I rolled 3 skulls (6) and he didn't even bother with defense...

He doesn't get the bonus for height on his Advanced Rifle SA, but that 10 range is definitely nice up on a battlement, or even better, sitting 10 spaces away from the battlement firing up at all the units with a measly 6 range.
I think the Omicrons are even worse up on a castle, especially the double high ones. 3 dice with skulls doubled, or 4 if you've got Taelord? Yeowch.

Spend a measly 25 points and buy a Swog Rider. Use his 8 move to close the gap quickly and let him feel the fury of those 3 attack dice.
