BIO
Developing technology in secret has cause the Primadon government to institute extreme policies for keeping that technology from the other races on Marr. One such policy is to neutralize any Primadon technology and all those that come in contact with it when it falls into the wrong hands. In carrying out this policy, none were better than the Rapid Insertion and Neutralization Operatives out of the Ghost Paw Division of the Primadon Intelligence Agency. Ghost Paw R.I.N.O.s ride armored prototype hover bikes with computer controlled autocannons that can be linked via the latest targeting software to deliver a devastating area attack.
Falling prey to political manuveuring, the Ghost Paw R.I.N.O.s were sent on a fabricated mission conceived by rivals of their prime proponent. Upon arrival to their target, the Ghost Paw squad was enveloped in a massive explosion that destroyed all trace of the riders and hover bikes. When an inquery was made, the finding was that the Ghost Paw R.I.N.O.s were destroyed by an unknown malfunction of a hover bike but, still completed their last mission. They were given a commendation posthumously and Ghost Paw division was dissolved.

The only problem i see with the cards are graphically and this is mainly with Torfrid with the white outline. If you use photoshop after using magic extractor hit the defringe button. When rolling for a destruction special ability should be 19 or 2o or you should raise his points by 10

Now on to new business.
http://www.heroscapers.com/oldgallery/albums/userpics/10030/GhostPawR.I.N.O.sCard.jpg
I could use some help on the wording for Fire-Linked Autocannon. Is it clear on what I am trying to accomplish? Is too complicated for a special ability?
Is Hover clear on the point that they do not have to stop when entering water or lava, are not penalized for moving over heavy snow, and do not receive a bonus from roads?
I just started playtesting, so the points may be a little off. Comments welcome though.
Edit- Oh, they are on hover bikes. That might be important.

Thanks, I'll try that. As for the destruction ability, Sudema destroys on a 17. Torfrid cannot use hers against adjacent figs so, hers is not as powerful.

Yeah, great creativity on those zettian hover bikes. So weird and so neat! R.I.N.O.S Rule!
Note: you spelled "instead" wrong in their first special power.

Thanks to both of you. I can't believe I missed that. I always notice spelling on other peoples' cards. :)

OK, I got Torfrid the color I wanted. Updated the card and added a pic.
I'm still working on the Ghost Paws and others. Just have to find time to play-test.

Ah Chaos, I love the Ghost Paws R.I.N.O.s!!!
They are freakin' fast ! The Special Attack seems pretty balanced too. I thought 2 attack would be too low, but it can be devastating in the right circumstances!
Kudos Chaos!

Thanks.
The new ones are non-hit zones. I don't have them yet. However Mimring's (Charos, Su-Bok-Na, too) wings are hit zones.

Chaos, how'd you do the Vydar emblem on the hover bikes? nice touch.
ChaosChild
May 25th, 2006, 12:42 AM
I'm not a expert or anything, so there might be better ways.
I made a stencil out of paper. (simple answer)
The version you see is the 4th or 5th attempt at it. Good thing that Vydar's symbol is the least complicated one. If they fought for anybody else, they wouldn't have a symbol.
I have to refine my process because I am planning to use Ullar's symbol on some shields for another custom.

OK, I put the Ghost Paws in the first post. I lowered their cost but, I'm still testing them. I also put in their bio.

That Darius' Investigation ability is one of the most creative abilities I have seen in a long time. Very cool.

It is hard to come up with unique ideas that don't take up the whole card with the wording. Haven't mastered that yet.

Yes, they are flying archers. I have only play-tested them twice. 1 win, 1 loss. I am posting them now because I want to see what everybody thinks.

These guys are cool but I would rather draft the 4th Mass. The first ability is the same really as the 4th Mass, and the flying is awesome but does it rate and additional 50 points and one less member??
ChaosChild
June 18th, 2006, 10:32 PM
In the 2 games that I played, being able to fly is a big advantage for them. Not to mention they have 1 more range and 1 more defense. In close combat with both samuria, getting 4 dice for defense (height advantage) kept them alive fairly well.
So to answer your question, it depends on the map.

So to answer your question, it depends on the map.Well, I have obviously not playtested them so this is only a SWOT. But, I see all the benefits of these guys, I guess I think they should be slightly cheaper and be unique. After all who is going to convert more than just one squads worth of these guys?
ChaosChild
June 18th, 2006, 10:49 PM
I have two.
I was going for a continuation of a common kyrie squad for each general. I am working on Ullar's and Vydar's.
I thought about going with 110 but that would allow 2 Kyudoka and Taelord in a 400 point game. That will be my next play test.

This one may be a bit strange. At least the fig anyways. The fig on the card is only a rough mock-up but it conveys the idea well enough.
That would be Krug (sans sword) wrapped in fabric to form a robe with a digital staff. Like I said, rough mock-up. I think I have entered a new realm of customization with making clothes for a heroscape fig but, this is too absurd to not be made. :D I have an idea for the staff and I will get started on the robe as soon as I brush up on my sewing skills.
I just had to share this. :D

The first ability is the same really as the 4th Mass, and the flying is awesome but does it rate and additional 50 points and one less member??Totally. There's a reason Mimring is Mimring. I'd say they're undercosted. 120pts would be perfect if they were unique.
Correct shooting is correct hitting, but Wait and Fire, should be called Wait and Fire.
I like the figs alot. I like that each one has it's own pose; I'm not crazy about the colors, though.
Wait and fire is the perfect limitation and compliment for a flying ranged character.
If they just weren't for Eniar. People with wings aren't really historical.
 Vydar needs a flying unit. Ronin Kyrie Archers?

I don't like that wait and fire allows a 4th Mass. to get the extra die when engaged so, I changed that a called it something else. It does not make sense that a 4th Mass. would have time to "wait and fire" when engaged.
Thank you, I didn't want all the figs to look exactly the same. If you make your own then don't paint them those colors. :P I thought those colors fit well with Einar.
As for people with wings not being historical, I don't think that matters. Einar would most likely have Kyrie fighting for him and the Japanese style archer seemed to fit.
Thank you both (shakey_snake and GB) for the comments. I will think about changing them so they are more "unique" but, I will most likely keep them a commom squad and the points will probably change as I play with them more.

Cut the head off 2 Mimrings, glue them together, glue the result on a Mimring body. It was my first attempt at surgery so only the front looks good. The wings hide most of it. If you have specific questions about the process, you can PM me.

Close, same concept, but different. I am actually working on one that's even more similar. I don't claim it as a unique ability, just my unique interpretation of it. 8)
