Fallen Templar

Found this on Wizkids boards
I just got back from Gencon, where I purchased my starter and 3 boosters at the Wizkids booth. The starter set looks great. No issues with figures, cards, rulebook (although I haven't gone over it with a "fine-tooth comb" just yet). The included map, however, only has 11 blood spots printed on each side. The blood spots are where the players are supposed to place a combined total of 12 victim tokens. As a graphic designer, I really have to wonder how printing errors like this occur. Didn't anyone look at a proof before it went to a full-press run. If someone did check it, did that person have any actual knowledge of the game, or were they simply the graphic designer/artist working on the map? I guess I have to ask if the map was even printed in the U.S. in the first place.
The bigger issue for me was the condition and contents of the 3 boosters. The figures, cards and victim were absolutely jammed into the box. The cards were totally bent and mangled. Many of my figures were bent over 90 degrees at their ankles. The worst was the booster that contained a rookie "Deep One" figure that not only was bent over in the way I mentioned, but also was missing the bottom half of the base (the part with the actual dial stuck to it). To top it all off, the "Deep One" card wasn't even in the booster box. Instead, there was an "Executed Convict" card in it's place.
I mainly play Heroclix, and sadly, this type of thing is all too common lately. Wizkids uses 2 different factories overseas. One is supposed to be excellent at packing and collating figures, but is weak at painting them. The other is supposed to be excellent at painting them, but very bad with packing and collating. Apparently, Horrorclix got the "bad" factory.
The game is just getting underway, and this is not a very good way to start. I really hope that these problems are quickly resolved for the future, and I also hope it doesn't take away any momentum from the game.
