When I picked up eldest a while ago, I noticed there was one copy of the book on the shelf that was different.

The word 'Eldest' was not on the wraparound cover on the front or side. There was none of that gold lettering on it at all.

(See this Ebay listing. This looks just like mine, except it is signed, and mine isn't) http://cgi.ebay.com/CHRISTOPHER-PAOLINI-SIGNED-ELDEST-1ST-FIRST-MISPRINT_W0QQitemZ330275310215QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20080929?IMSfp=TL08 0929138011r13869

Any ideas as to how rare this might be, and if it gets more publicity, how much it could go for?

Thanks!

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

Okay, how about my other question.

How many of these items exist, or 1 in how many have this defect? That should be a more 'numerical' answer.

This is all I could find that looked relevant. It does not appear to be the same defect your copy has, unless you didn't say something? But in any case, you should probably take it to these people. They'd have a batter idea of how many people have your specific copy.
