I am on call that day, and won't be able to make it unless I can somehow trade with someone (very unlikely). I even had a good army picked out, but . . .

You got time to make a trade with someone. It's gonna be a blast!
;)
Hope you can make it.
Thanks,

Mrs. TexMex and I should be there! And the Mrs. plans on playing:o 600 points?! That makes the army I was considering tons more feasible:D

This is on Oct. 18th, right? I'll see if I can make it. But what time do you expect it to end? My parents like to know these things before they take me an hour's drive from Santa Fe.
Edit:
Unfortunately, I found out I can't come, but maybe next time. And I hope everyone has fun. Let me know how it turns out.

Well, Albuquerque is alot close to me than Forest City, Ohio. Only 500 miles away instead of 700. Plus my grandmothers sister lives there so I might have a place to stay. Heck I could probably make it there in back on the same day.
I have a question though about the 50 minutes. I've played 500 point matches and been hard pressed to get them finished in under an hour. I have a hard time seeing 600 points finished in only 50 minutes. I guess if nobody could leave the table during the time but I think at least half the games would still not be able to finish. Maybe I'm wrong though cause I have really just played new players so I guess I can be ignored. Still I think it would be good to allow for 1 full hour. Also need to know how unfinished games are going to be decided. I'd assume on a point basis but would that be for full unit's destroyed, partial, or what you have left? or just a draw?

50 Minutes should be plenty of time for most games. The only ones I've seen go long are the games involving many units that can extend a person's turn by bonding. Winners of unfinished games will be determined by point differential where you add the points of your units still in play to the points of enemy units you destroyed. We have access to the DCI software which takes care of matching players based on strength of schedule and tracks wins/losses so it is fairly easy to determine overall winners. I'm not against going to 60 minutes and will consider it.
Hope you can make it!

Those are great maps! They're very terrain-diverse--I approve:)
Also, with pinche-quey and Omaga not coming, doesn't this mean that the 1st and 2nd place winners of the last two tournaments won't be present?!
Wow! If only this meant that I had a chance at winning:)

Man, those maps look fun. I really wish I could make it. All well, maybe next time.... (Yeah, right. How am I going to convince my parents to spend over $20 just to let me play 'scape for a couple hours?)

I guess you'll all have to capitalize on our absence. TSS, maybe you can offer to help your folks pay for some of the gas. I'm sure they need to come to Albuquerque from time to time (errands, xmas shopping, etc.). Have fun.

Just a little heads up: Mrs. TexMex is in a Design for the Community Media Arts class, which involves interviewing members of the community. When she mentioned going to Albuquerque for NHSD, her group asked if she'd be willing to get some interviews there.
Long story short, Mrs. TexMex will be at the Inquisitive (or just outside if they have any qualms about filming inside) asking for interviews with us 'Scapers or any friendly gamers present to use in her art project's Las Vegas, NM, installation.
It's important to note, this will not be press for the event;)

NHSD Albuquerque was a great success! We had 10 players! They were all fantastic sports and great players. Thanks for everyone showing up and thanks to all of our sponsers: Truth and Co., House Mouse Games and the Inquisitive.
I'll have some pictures later this week.

No worries :D
So, The Silver Surfer's gettin' a little anxious at our other thread:
http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=1884&page=7
Does anyone have any idea when the next possible tourney might be for 'round these parts? I'd like to be able to plan as long in advance as possible, as most other times I was already busy when they were officially announced. Thanks,
TSS
And I've got to say, I'm with him. I crave more 'Scaping! So perhaps it's a bit early to be seriously thinking about this, but I figure tossing around some general dates couldn't hurt.
