I dont really know any details about Iran's nuclear program but I do know that making fuel capable of running in a nuclear reactor is expensive and difficult to manufacture (as in about 500000 per fuel assembly). The leftover uranium from the spent or burned fuel assemblies become plutonium but is highly radioactive from all the fission products which increases the difficulty of using it. So can they make weapons out of this stuff? Sure. Is it easy and will they be able to hide it? doubtful. I am not that worried about it because there are not alot of countries I can think of that would want that threat. But then I am kind of torn because I work in the nuclear industry and any push to get more nuclear power plants is seen as a good thing for the industry, even if they are in other countries.

I don't think nuclear threat is as dangerous as it used to be. we currently have anti missle planes, that use targetting lasers and can detonate nuclear missles and guide them outside of our atmosphere before detonation. One plane can simuntaniously distract/destroy 235 missles at once.

A couple of those flying around, and I think we are pretty safe.

ok, did you just make that up, or do you have any proof to make us all feel as safe as you are?

Sorry Hoss, but right now you are lookin at about a fifty percent shoot down rate. The technology is not there yet. Iran is a very real threat, first they believe the Holocaust never happened, second they have announced their intentions to destroy Israel and the US, third the Iranian leader believes he is the one who is supposed to usher in the Muslim Apocalypse. Iran has already stated they believe the US is bound and gagged and can do nothing to stop them. I fear they may have a point. Once again the UN is proving weak and spineless in Israel as we speak, and as the countdown ticks on Iran for their deadline the UN is already starting to waiver. I can see what is coming, once again we are going to have to handle the worlds garbage with Britian behind us and recieve the scorn of the world as we try to keep this world safe for all, Muslims included. If on the 31st Iran does not comply it is up to the international community to hammer them with economic sanctions like they have never felt. Some Iranians already fear this move and have been vocal about it, the rest balk at us and say we will not dare. we better dare.

The problem isn't so much Iran launching a rocket at us with a nuclear warhead. The much greater threat is that they would give a nuclear device to one of the many terrorist groups they support. The terrorist would then sneak the device into a major city & set it off.

That is how Iran operates. Iran didn't capture any Israeli soldiers. Instead, they had their proxy Hezbollah do it for them. They didn't send in military squadrons to kill American soldiers in Iraq, they gave the advanced IED technology to terrorists who then used it.

I have faith that it will be very difficult to smuggle that stuff in here. There have been alot of crackdowns lately on allowing immigrants across boarders and what you can take through air ports or any other given mode of transportation into the country.
