I don't have everyone's names from the top 16, but here is a partial list with everyone I know....
1 5-0 Hendal
2 5-0 Kaharma
3 5-0 Spider Posion
4 4-1 Killer Cactus
5 4-1 Matrix Renegade
6 4-1 Gamjuven
7 4-1 Southwest Ninja
8 4-1 Lonewolf
9 4-1 Mattster Truck Rally
10 4-1 Eirikr
11 4-1 Scaper_Dude
12 4-1 (not on forums)
13 4-1 Main Train Choochoo
14 3-2 Brownsfan82
15 3-2 Mecha Frog
16 3-2 Weesel
It shaping up to be a great second day. The people who were 3-2 and made it to the second day did so because they had the highest strength of schedule.
The matchups tomorrow will be 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, etc 4 rounds single elimination.
Some notables from this group are two family efforts, including Mattster Truck Rally and his brother MainTrainChooChoo, and myself and my son Scaper_Dude!
Good luck to everyone!

I think Kahrma made it, I just couldn't remember his real name and the DCI output sheets put people's real names. Kahrma finished either 5-0 or 4-1, so he is one of the ?????????

Greg (Kahrma) is the other 5-0. Here are a few of the armies of people that made it on:
Kahrma
Q9
3X Stingers
2X Rats
Raelin
Matrix Renegade
Finn
Thorgrim
Eldgrim
3X Knights
Krav
Spider
4X Glads
2X Blasts
Raelin
MattserTruckRally
(I think)
5X Mass
New Drake
Lonewolf and Scaper_Dude
4X Stingers
2X Rats
Raelin
Kaemon
Brownsfan82
Nilfheim
Zelrig
Q10
I'm not entirely sure of any other armies, but there are more armies with Stingers in them. Overall, there's a pretty good diversity, but it's mostly in the "good" units out there. I particularly think it's cool that matrixrenegade's knight army made it on.

There's sure to be some great battle reports, especially considering the number of great players that both made it and didn't make it into the top 16. Thanks for posting this, lonewolf, and congrats to you and your son!
EDIT: For the sake of my fantasy draft team, here's hoping that the question marks belong to skyknight, Clarissimus, or Jexik (already heard from Revdyer). Either way, go MattserTruckRally!

We have a winner....SPIDER POISON.
Congratulations to Spider, he has now won the championship 2 out of 3 years. I lost to Spider in the final match placing me 2nd. The 3-4 match was between Southwest_Ninja and someone not on the forums. SW Ninja finished 3rd.
Great job to everyone running the events and playing in the tournaments, it was a blast!

The field was really tough, but the Trons held up for me and I got some luck when I needed it. I'm back from the Con now, and I should have some sort of report up in a little while.
Oh, and I'll be doing lots of Power Rankings modifications and get the rankings for the new units up. It was lots of fun to see some of the new units in action.
I also got to see the most entertaining game I've ever watched...matrixrenegade and Jexik were playing a Heat of the Battle game when it came down to matrix's Parmenio vs. Jexik's Ne-Gok-Sa. Matrix's Parmenio was holding strong and blocking most of Jexik's attacks, and it was looking like Parmenio might be able to pull it off. One 20 later, Parmenio turned sides and Jexik shackled for the win. It pulled a huge reaction from the crowd watching...even to the point where other gamers looked over to see what was happening. It was a pretty awesome game :D

Congrats Spider! Blast & Glads, it just doesn't get much better.
And if you think that's a good story, you should hear how I won my own "We don't need no stinkin' Gencon" tournament here in DFW. It was designed to somewhat mimic the Marvel Power of One tourney, but we allowed multiple Marvel because we're brave like that. I posted a report HERE (http://heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?p=649226#post649226).

Congrats to all the people who made it to day 2, and of course to the champ.
My Army
2x Micro
Cyprien
AE
Isamu
Sonya
Ended up 2-2-1.
A point needing a judge came up involving the AE. After a long game with no AE drop yet, my opponent and I were almost in a stalemate. He was reluctant to move his Minions off height, and I wasn't about to send my Micro Agents up to be minion food. So I just kept trying unsuccessfully to take shots of 2 attack while I waited for each new chance to get the AE to drop in and change the game. Finally it happened. I got the drop. I placed the AE on the map, and before we could set markers a judge said 'game over.' We would be going to points to determine the winner.
220 v 220 with the AE
We had to get a judge to determine whether the AE counted or not since it could be ruled that the game ended between rounds and only the last round counted. The ruling was that as soon as the AE were placed on the map, they were in my army. So I got the extra 110 to get a draw.
I assume that the ruling would technically come down to whether or not I had achieved my Drop roll. Is that correct? What if the round had been called after I made the roll, but before I placed the figures on the map? Splitting hairs here, but is this something you guys think I should submit to the Book of AE?

Matrix Renegade

GO KNIGHTS!! Of course he made the second day, he's got knights, plus he's 20 points short, unless you forgot the rest of his army.
Knights were in short supply but it was good to see the variety of some of the armies.
I had probably the wierdest army in all of the championship tournament:
Braxas
Dund
Shades of Bleakewood x2
I had an unimpressive 2-3 record in the championship, but I believe none of my figures were used in other armies. There may have been another Braxas, but honestly I don't recall there being any. There were certainly no Dunds and no other shades. So ultimately I believe having two wins with Dund should count double! They should at least count more than the stingers!
There were more stingers than you could actually count! Surprisingly few Gladiatrons and Blastatrons; only a modicum of Q9's and about as many Q10s. There were a good handful of Nilfheims and Zelrigs and the 10th regiment was a pretty common sight. There were only a couple of 4th mass armies that I could recall seing. Also:
Old Raelin (at least 90% of all the championship armies) vs. New Raelin ( nil )
Cyprien was in at least 40% vs. Iskra/Retchets ( nil )
A few armies included Minions vs. No Sentinels that I can recall
Krug and Charos were in only a few armies
There were a few grut archers, but otherwise a strange absence of orcs.
No Zombies
No Marro Drudges
No Hive armies
No wolves of Badru
No Anubian wolves
No Darklord
But, there were plenty of Rats!

spider poison........What can I say. Every single match that I sat down to I looked across the table and said man am I screwed. Somehow at the end of the battles though I had pulled out a crazy upset.(except for Hendal who for reasons will be explained later.....)I sit down across from spider poison see some glads/blasts and go WOW, I might actually be able to win this match. NOPE! bad bad bad bad bad dice.(spider poison might have had something to do with it too;) ) Not once did I win initiave, two straight turns in a row Q9 could not kill one single Gladatron..... Even if the dice were with me I still would have lost though, He was just that damn good. I did not see one tactical error on his part. Im just happy That I was able to win the next match I played and take 3rd to score the wonderful dice tower and custom dice included in the prizes.. They are absolutely gorgous! well maybe next year...........

I'll chime in that Mechabeast played Zombies, and I think played them very well. I believe he went 3-2 or 2-3, but all of his losses were from time and he always had a horde of zombies marching towards a couple of units, which usually means a zombie win. They're just so slow and they move a lot of figures, so he couldn't finish the matches in time.
I played a Rat + Heavy Hitter army and finished somewhere in the top 8. I'll post my battle report in a couple minutes. I had a blast the whole time though!

I had stingers x4, Cyprien, Sonya, Raelin and eventually finished in the top 5-8. It was a ton of fun and I can't wait to do it again next year.
Congrats to all who played and a word to all of you other people who couldn't make it: Come!
Spider_Poison's win really boosts Heroscape's greatness as a game I think. If the same person can win at gencon multiple times it shows that the game is more about army building and strategy rather than just lucky dice rolling. Just look at the top players from year to year, they are more or less the same. That's awesome for a game to have. And what'd even more beautiful is that the winning army that spider used isn't the be-all end-all army. It has its weaknesses, and if spider would have played against armies like the 4th mass it could have been different, but we'll never know. Congrats again!
I love this game.

Spider's says 3rd place and mine says 1st place. I don't think any of us saw that on the front of the towers, especially those who set up the prize table.

If you're not joking (and I doubt it, but just to make it clear), I think it was a mistake. Spider won, but nobody looked at the places on the dice Towers, so he got the one intended for third. I do think he has the correct trophy, though.
