I searched favorite show and nothing like this came up, so I started my own thread about favorite shows. My favorite would have to be either Chowder, X-play, or Attack of the show. What's your favorite show?

I would have to say The Closer. It's a more funnier version of the CSI series.

Everybody Loves Raymond for newer shows. Hogan's Heroes for older shows. If you've never seen Hogan's Heroes, you're missing a lot. One of the funniest, and cleverest shows ever created IMO.

When it comes to scheduled "TV shows" I don't really watch them. The only show I make an effort to catch is Dr. Who.

Oh, and of course, Monday Night Football.

Cleveland Browns Football!
Thats about all I really get excited about on TV.

As far as actual series go, to be honest, Stargate Atlantis is the only thing I really go out of my way to watch. It's not the end-all be-all of tv shows, but it's funny and clever and entertaining in a Xena-meets-Star Trek kind of way.

Well, as a whole, I'd but Batman: The Animated Series, Rurouni Kenshin, and various other bits of Toonami fare as my favorite TV shows. Action Animation is my favorite genre, hands down.

Me too, and I'm a 30 something. Those are great shows, and there are even better ones out there. I love animation. To me it is the ultimate form of escapism.

That siad, in life as a viewer I live for Sci-Fi Fridays. I can't wait for Terminator/Heroes/Medium Monday night either. Also the first half on Fox's "Animation Domination". The rest of the time I avoid TV as much as possible, except for dvds and the odd Oprah.

I watch so many, Dr. Who, Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Smallville, Supernatural, Monk, Psych, Weeds, Dexter, etc. etc. Mythbusters is a big fav of mine as was Avatar. This question seems kind of silly, it''s like asking someone what their favorite food is, sure they may like Italian the best but eat plenty of Mexican, Oriental and American food, etc as well.

I was looking over Thundarr the other night on Wiki.

McLaughlin Group
I love McLaughlin Group, but I usually don't get to see it. It's funny how much better, funnier, and more entertaining this is than the hipper, copycat Politically Incorrect.

And I love Top Gear. Someday they should try to make a US version. ;)

The McLaughlin Group is (IMHO) still the best (and most enjoyable) way to get a variety of views on political topics in 30 minutes.

 As an old Firefly fan, just saw my first episode of Castle with Nathan Fillion. it was good TV; a special episode which went back and forth between modern day and 1947 film noir, with the cast playing both period roles and solving both period's mysteries in the end. There is a famous episode of this show also where NF wears his Firefly outfit--for Halloween:

"What are you supposed to be?"
"A space cowboy."
"Didn't you wear that five years ago?"
"I LIKE IT."

 Just finished watching the fourth season of The Big Bang Theory, which a pal got me on DVD. I had only seen a few episodes before this, so I enjoyed the geek madness. I especially love all the science fiction references. Several SF actors showed up as special guest stars too: Katie Sackhoff, George Takei, and Will Wheaton! If you get the DVDs you can also ready those white "vanity cards" producer Chuck Lorre posts after the credits, which only show up for one second on the screen when the episodes are broadcast. Some of these are funny too.

Wow...lots of good shows I've not seen in forever (or completely forgotten about!)...Let's see, currently I'm pretty into:

Walking Dead (some jerk at work has spoiled a lot of it for me:evil:)
Tosh.0 (one of the funniest clip-shows ever...if you can get past the intentional offensiveness)
South Park (as good as ever)
Dexter (lots of catch-up to do on this one)
Being Human (UK version...mostly watch it with the wifey)
The Inbetweeners (if you haven't seen it, you should)

All-time faves:

X-Files (will always have fond memories of it)
Firefly, Buffy, Angel (Whedon is the Man!)
Jeopardy (never miss a show)
The Price is Right (mmm...college chicks bouncing around excitedly...)
Transformers:Beast Wars (I'm surprised that this one doesn't get much love - the 3rd season was amazing)
That 70's Show (well, the first few seasons, anyway)
Ninja Warrior (I never get tired of watching it, even reruns)
Smallville (yep, very cheesy, but I love it)
Cheers (didn't everyone like Cheers?:D)

8) Just finished watching for the first time the entire first season of Game of Thrones! I was especially interested in the commentary by Martin himself, who is directing one episode per season.

I'm not watching the second season yet, being a refusenik about paying extra for "premium channels," but a pal told me a bit about what's going on--I read all the books last year, so I know what's going to happen. The interesting thing is that while the first season was pretty much the first book (or its greatest hits), it seems they are now heavily editing the series to get to the juicy parts much more quickly!

I just spent a "Westeros Weekend," reviewing the game BATTLES OF WESTEROS tactical game, so I can get back into it. Having all five expansions, I now have 26 scenarios and about 6 'skirmishes' (variable set up scenarios) to play. And the upcoming House Baratheon expansion will have more, including also the largest book battle (in three parts) and the multiplayer version. I've also played my GAME OF THRONES strategic board game once.

I don’t have much time to watch TV shows but I never miss “The Voice UK” by BBC One. It was made up with 3 stages called, blind auditions, the Battles and the live show. It is pleasant to see the singers who have great talents.

I didn't catch that episode, that is awesome. Love Firefly and Castle is pretty well written too.

Also, just finished watching season 4 of Breaking Bad again since I just picked it up on DVD. Best season of the show so far. Can't wait to see how it all ends in season 5.

You can catch all the Firefly references in Castle on youtube. I want to check it out but I refuse to watch any show that centers on cops, lawyers, or hospitals.

Firefly is my all time favorite show. Fox also canceled Dark Angel, Doll House, and
Tru Calling on me. Pure evil.

You're missing out! The Wire, Boston Legal and, erm, Cardiac Arrest. All excellent shows. (Had to dig into the memory banks for that last one. British comedy/drama from the late 90s(?). Still remember the line from a doctor trying to pick up a patient with a sprained ankle: "What's a dodgy joint like this doing in a nice girl like you?" but there was a lot that was less cheesy I'm sure. I guess I could've gone for House, but I got bored with it some point around Season 4, or at least as bored as it is possible to get with Hugh Laurie.)

I might make an exception for a British show ollie.
I like the show title Cardiac Arrest. That screams funny.
Also my restriction only covers current shows. I will check out older programing.
I have been watching a couple comedies from the BBC, Fat Friends and Black Books. Love Black Books.

Black Books is one of my all-time favourite shows (and if you like that and you like sci-fi stuff, then you should love Spaced, which is right up there too.) I don't know Fat Friends. I guess it's from after any I had semblance of a connection to popular culture (~2003). I'll check it out.

Random connections from Cardiac Arrest: it starred Helen Baxendale (who is dreamy) and she was also in This Life which was a huge show in the UK that I think was about lawyers and very well received (more drama than comedy, I think, but some of both). I somehow managed to not watch it, but I know it also launched Andrew Lincoln's career, and he went on to star in Teachers, which is excellent (for the first two seasons).

Edit for more rambling: Spaced and Black Books were the cornerstone of my inculcation of Americans into British TV (I arrived in the US before them). Others (and I don't know if these have hit BBC America): The League of Gentlemen (spectacularly creepy), Cracker (cops, I guess, but Robbie Coltrane as an awesome psychologist), Brass Eye (news satire), Yes (Prime) Minister (80s political satire)...

Great suggestions. I am interested in Spaced for sure.
Black Books and Fat Friends has been playing on one of my PBS channels. Fat Friends is a little hit and miss. I saw the first episode of Black Books last time which was great.

I have the American version of Cracker on DVD. It was decent but I never did finish watching it. My friend and I used to re-enact a scene from an early episode for our short lived "Poetry Act" we put together. We would open for poetry nights/slams as the featured "poets". My friend was the feature, I was more of a Sidekick.
I should check out the original Cracker.

I should watch Cracker again too, I haven't for quite a while and we have at least the first one somewhere. I wonder how it will seem to people who are coming to it post-Harry Potter (Coltrane is Hagrid) and Doctor Who (Cracker also stars Christopher Ecclestone); it's a pretty rough, dark story.

Edit: To add to the Spaced/Black Books family: Father Ted. Different setting, similar humour. And a little older but I would argue it's a similar genre, except set in space this time, Red Dwarf (stop at season 6).

I started watching the Season One DVDs of one of my old favorites from 1978--WKRP IN CINCINNATI. This was a superior ensemble comedy from Mary Tyler Moore Studios, that only ran 2 1/2 seasons because the network didn't realize what they had (sound familiar, Star Trek fans)? There are commentaries by the writer/director and some of the actors (Loni Anderson/"Jennifer" and Frank Bonner/ "Herb."). Its still funny!

I've been watching Beast Wars on Netflix. It's cheesy at times, and the writing is geared towards kids a bit too much on occasion. I just got to my favorite episode today, Code of Hero. That episode is beautiful. Some great lines, great story both on its own and within the context of the series, good action. And I get a little verklempt at the end. I need to watch it a couple more times.

I have also been watching WKRP on Sundays. I believe it is RTV that airs like 6-8 episodes in a row every Sunday. So good, hard to believe it was cut short. I am pretty sure they tried a remake at one point with video vixen Tawny Kitaine(spelling?).
The call signs of the other stations are hilarious, WTNA & WPIG.
Also I remember as a kid being infatuated with Loni but now I find Bailey(Jan Smithers?) more attractive.

Another weird thing is in the opening credits it only shows the programing manager and the boss/owner(Gordon Jump). The other actors do not get credit until the end of the episode.

@Agent Minivan: Love me some Beast Wars. DinoBot Rules!
I got my nephew the series on DVD and he watches all the time, my sister must hate me. :)
I agree it is cheesy sometimes but the writing is actually extremely good. The characters are developed and so many have their own agendas that it makes for interesting sub-plots. When they eventually tie it in to the original series it is the icing on the cake.
The Fire-Ant Predacon is also awesome "For the royalty".

My favorite show overall would have to be Stargate Atlantis. I enjoy all of the Stargate series, but the conflict with the Wraiths is my favorite storyline with the whole of stargate.

Other shows I highly enjoy include The Big Bang Theory (hilarious!), Psych, Merlin, and NCIS.
