I just moved from the Atlanta area( Jonesboro and Stockbridge actually, hmm, small world) to New Jersey and indeed bought most of what the local wally worlds and targets had before I left (which wasn't much anyway)
justjohn
August 29th, 2006, 09:43 PM
That sucks (that you moved away). How old are you/are you originally from here? I graduated from Stockbridge in 2000, but have lived in Jonesboro basically my whole life. I'm actually a teacher at Jonesboro High now.
Someone is still here... went to 4 wal-marts/targets today. Didn't find a single full set of Thora's, so someone's still around here buying up stuff.

I am only 14 and a freshman. Are you a freshman teacher? If so you proly would have taught me. And yes, I was born in stockbridge, but I have lived in Jonesboro, Fayetteville, Griffin, McDonaugh, eagles Landing, Macon, and Barnesville...we moved around alot. It sucks that someone is taking all of the stuff at the stores, but glad it wasn't me though. :)

I don 't mind them buying them, I just want to find out who they are, so we can play.
Maybe I'll leave a note in the HS section at Wal-Mart, and see if I get any bites. Has anyone tried this?

September 5th, 2006, 06:20 PM
Cool. I used to play FNM there a good bit when I was in hs. Then we moved to TNT games, but I understand that TNT is no longer around.
The warroom is somewhat of a shell of what it used to be, too. I went there for the first time in a few years, like 2 months ago, and it was a little place, no longer the size of a grocery store.
It's definitely a lunch-packer for me to make the drive to Duluth, but mayhap I'll try to get up there one weekend here in the near future.

don't ask me how to get there but it's been 9 yrs? or so but than it was huge...
well next time I'm in town(was in town for dragoncon and met Justjohn, celtic and several others) I'll let everyone know and we can get some games in.

Yeah, the WarRoom has shrunk.
For those of you who don't know what place we're talking about, it was a gamestore that was in an old strip mall Grocery Store, it was HUGE. The front part of the store was the size of a regular gaming store, but the back was full of tables, then separate rooms. It was awesome.
But yeah Rod, it's the size of the average game store now. And they moved it about 15 minutes North(northwest?).
Give us a shout next time you're around, Rod. But I should see you at DFW GameDay Oct 21. Britt is strongly considering coming as well. She's either coming with me, or taking our daughter to see the in-laws that weekend.

ps ye should get britt to come with ye, man she's pretty good there, I really would have liked to get a couple games in with ppl, well more than the few I did get in...
I'm already guessing Im gonna sux in the tourney..gonna play an oddball army I believe just haven't decided which yet..though the possibilities with wave 5 have me confused as to what I wanna do....
I'd love to play my venoc army but I'd rather use something else, as the venoc army I had at dragoncon is almost to standard to be of any fun..

We should also set up times we can meet at a gamestore like warroom to play. Might help get some new blood in.
EDIT:
I just read where it was mentioned that the warrrom has moved.
Its been like 4 yrs since i've been there so I've no idea where it is now. Do they have a website or phone number so that I can get directions. (if its even worth going there anymore)

Usually on sunday nights my group gets together to do some 'scaping. Most times it's around 6 of us but its been as big as 8-10.
We even sometimes do a "tournament" style where instead of having 1 massive game we break it into 3 or 4 1vs 1 games going all at once. We have 4 MS, 3Rtff, 2TT, 2Lava, and 3Castle and at least one of every figure except sir hawthorne so we can pull that off pretty easily.
Right now I don't think we are looking for more people to play regularly do to size constraints and time but having a large gaming day in the NE atlanta area at some point might be really fun.
Maybe this coming spring/summer we can get something set up :D

I might. Though I might be at the pit. I'll have to see what my plan is.

I had mentioned to a few people that I might try to put together a Tourney on October 20th, but work has gotten too crazy for me to effectively plan an official tourney. I'm up for just playing some games on NHSD. I've played at the Gaming Pit in Duluth; which/where HobbyTown are you thinking about?

All_Banks if you are not able to coordinate a real tourney then I might be able to make it work for you. I play at the pit so if you saw me last sunday I was the shorter of the two twelve-year olds there playing scape. Hopefully I will see you tomorrow? Please tell me if you wish to play as I want to get a ok that at least 8 people will be there before I do anything

Announcing! Poll on NHSD.
I need to know who would be willing to play a heroscape touny on NHSD.
I am thinking of hosting a small tourny at the gaming pit with if enough people play a prize (that could or could not include a master woo courtesy of All Blanks. Again maybe.)
Please let me know because I'd like to do this but not for 4 people :?

I'm working on NHSD, so I would not be able to get to The Gaming Pit until about 7:30 pm. I would be more than happy to participate in a tournament, but it would obviously need to be an evening tournament. I do believe The Gaming Pit is open into the am on Saturday nights....

Calling it off. Some junk came up and too many people aren't going to be able to make so I've decided to try another time. I might do one on a holiday weekend so do not fret there is hope. I will still be at the pit NHSD and the sunday after so if you wish to meet or play go ahead and come.

Guy LaDouche, located in Woodstock, GA checking in!
Got my Heroscape master sets 1 and 2, Marvelscape, a ton of expansions, and a load of Heroclix and others being modded as we speak.
I'm willing to drive and even host a few games at my place for any takers. Feel free to drop me a line.

I live in the Alpharetta/Cumming area of Atlanta and am looking for players. A friend and I are new to the game but we are going to try and see if a local game store will let us play there on Saturday nights. If we start playing consistently I will post a message here.

I just wanted to let everyone know that me and another Heroscaper (and sometimes my son) are trying to get weekly Heroscape games going on Sunday nights at Super Games in Alpharetta, GA.
There won't be a game on Sunday May 11th due to Mother's Day. The next game is scheduled for Sunday May 18th at 8pm. If you need directions you can visit the store's website at:
http://www.supergamesinc.com/
The owner said that if he has enough players interested in the game he will start stocking Heroscape stuff.

There has been a request to merge the three Georgia threads in which I am going to post this message. This is to help Georgia players have one thread to subscribe to for coordination of activities.
Often times there will be a state thread and then a specific region/city thread if people find that the state thread is too cumbersome.
Please post any objections you may have to this action by Wednesday May 19 or I will go forward with the merge.

Uhm, whoever attempted to hide the Ashigaru pack behind the yu-gi-oh cards in the target....
Sorry. :D
On a related note, are there any hobby stores that host tournaments? Or allow gatherings of heroscapers in dire need of chairs and tables? I need somewhere to hang out and scape.

Merged threads:
• Atlanta area 'Scapers I know you're out there...
• Metro Atlanta scapers?
• North Atlanta Heroscapers
As they are not even separate areas, they're the same city.

Well, the War Room is closed now and I think the group at the Gaming Pit fell apart (not sure about this) after thier original organiser moved away. You may be able to start something back up at the Gaming Pit yourself. We have a regular monthly game at my home in Duluth. Next game is this Saturday, June 14th @ 4pm. You are welcome to join us, PM me for details if you are interested.

why was this marked read?
I would love to meet everybody up in Duluth, but that's a little far for me to drive. IS there still something going on at Hobby Town USA? If not, I might be able to get that going.
