I just got over a quite annoying case of the shingles.Back at HQ I wasn't posting much,I kept waiting for the lost threads to return[kind of lost hope on that though].I was still working on dice though,and I am just now finishing Teamski's and I just got in some black blanks for those who wanted 'em.

The green ones are for Boneslu and Darkspade,so if they have caught your eye there may be a wait until I have to re-order(there is a $50 minimum)

The lack of gallery here is messing me up so if the images are too large or not showing I'll try to fix it.

My Terms:

I only trade-NO MONEY-Sorry!I know some people don't like this,but I have my reasons

I won't use someone else's images unless they give permission-I'm assuming the ones we have been using are still okay

registered members only!!

I won't do the Hasbro symbols and I don't want to argue about it.

Thoughts:

Some people may be annoyed with me 'cause I am slow to respond,but I am only able to do 1 or 2 sets a week[I've got 2-3 hours worth of work over several days in each set].I can't give daily updates,I have 3 boys and momma and a business to deal with.I do one person at a time,I try to make each set as perfect as I can then move on to the next person.

My offer:

I wish to trade one set of dice{12 combination or 10 red + 10 blue old style}for 2 exp packs or 1 large exp pack.
My special deal is 2 sets of dice for 1 castle set.
Other trades of stuff for stuff will be considered.

I welcome custom designs;just remember there are limitations on the amount of detail I can do.
The best way other than me laying it out and cutting a sample is to draw your design to scale with a medium point pen,if it looks like a blob with no definition,then it probably won't work.

I just got done with Teamski's and I am probably going to PM Kentaak next.If you PM me with a request and I don't answer right away please be patient and don't be mad at me,like I said I do one request at a time.

i want the ones on the far right. i believe the artist was keodogg from HQ, but not 100% sure, and if it was him, i believe he said it was okay if you used them.


i do not have immediate access to any expansions due to lack of money from lack of job. let me know what 2 expansions you are looking for (does it even matter?) and i will keep a savings aside for you, or, i have dice towers if you are interested.

i wanted dice with Norse symbols and searched the web until i decided on these:

the Defense symbol is "Troll Cross"

i considered the "Shield Knot" for defense

Okay, I can vouch for the quality and service with these dice. They really are excellent! At first I thought the size difference would get to me but it just adds to my "Outta the way, I am rolling here!" attitude and bullying the other players as I roll!

I agree!I am caught up to wave 4 stuff.I'm looking for the new stuff mostly,and I understand that I am going to have to wait until everybody gets theirs first.Although for people that want the 2 sets for a castle deal I have been accepting IOU's from people with a solid community history and I'm sure won't burn me or just disappear.If I get a large enough bank of them and they are interested in going in together,they could probably get a large enough order to get free shipping.

This whole project took off before I was ready when Hextrip posted pics of the dice I did for him.I pretty much got caught flat-footed.I didn't have a reliable supplier and was'nt even sure I could produce consistant results.
I think I'm sitting pretty good with a supply of blanks now,and I have worked out the kinks of cutting and painting them.

But it was a really awesome design!!Maybe I'll be able to get "Quests" expansions after all!!
I really do love that design,and I intend to make myself a set of those when I have time.Josh and I recently sucked the youngest boy Devon into a few games and he managed to finish without stomping away mad because his Mimring died[he has discovered the power that is Charos :shock: ].He prefers the red and blues,Josh and I like the whites,so if I make him his own set of special red and blue dice he is going to think he is pretty cool.
Plus I would like to have them around to remind me of HQ,I'm having a really hard time letting go.Like driving past your childhood home you were forced to leave. :cry:

The quality of the original artwork is largely the quality of what will be returned.)

Well, not counting the time it would take to scan and touch-up and then create the cover (which I would do off the clock because it's not "work" work) I could probably have it done for about $8 - $9 per book. That is my cost for the materials and the printing. (If you were to have it done as a customer, the cover creation charge would be about $50 per cover.

Of course, there's always trade... PM me if you want to discuss this further. :D

DarkSpade was about half right. It does indeed have to do with taxes/copyright (this is also why he will not use the official dice emblems). However, in addition to this J-n-P does this at work where he has a partner. As he is doing this as a hobby in his place of work, it would be unfair for him to be using the tools of his and his partner to profit from this endeavor. With the barter system, he gathers HS items into his collection and spreads joy amongst the community!

Will Papa, not trade for expansions? Why don't you make a couple sets of custom terrain, or buy a couple castles and trade him one of those, or is there a monitary value to the trade. Im new to this post but the dice are awesome. I would rather spend my time on customs though. If i ever find something, or finish something (if you take customs) i might consider a set of ones with Utgar and Jandars symbols. Thats way later in life though.

CAUTION!Before I post this long explanation,please don't think I am going off on you K/H_Addict a.k.a. Dodgeviperfreak.This is for the benefit of everyone that is discouraged with the way I do things and how slow I am to respond.

I am glad you posted this,I really was curious what you would find out.
That price quote is pretty high.You can get a set done at chessex.com for about $60, including the dice.If I was going to quote them for my business it would probably be right around $40 including dice.

That is part of the reason I won't take money.If I accept money it is a business transaction,if it is a business transaction I have to write an invoice,If I write an invoice...Uncle Sam gets a cut,my business partner gets a cut.....This all means the price goes up!

$20 worth of heroscape stuff to trade with isn't really all that bad is it?I'm not trying to rip anybody off.I have about 1 hour of machine time and about 1-1/2 to 2 hours of painting,scraping,touching up the paint and polishing for each set.Let's just call it 3 hours worth of labor.

The blanks cost $5 per set that leaves about $15 dollars for 3 hours of work.You would be hard pressed to get a kid to mow your lawn for $5 an hour.Only my obsessive greed for Heroscape stuff drives me to do this.

If you were to take advantage of the 2 sets of dice for a castle set,I'm working for about $3.50 an hour.And since I really want more snow,I am seriously considering offering 3 sets of dice for 2 tundra sets,but only till I get 6 more sets of tundra.

I have not responded to anyone in the last couple weeks because I have been busy with the base molds and I'm painting the Gen Con dice right now.I also have been busy doing real life work,and it's summertime.Which means I have my 3-8 year old boys to deal with all day long until Mama gets home,except Mama getting home isn't all that much help lately, because she recently started working on her master's degree online.Also why I post late at night,it's the only time it is quiet around here and I can think.

I know this is way more information than you need or want,but it helps me explain why I can only get 1 or 2 sets done per week and why it takes me so long to respond to everyone who has sent me PMs.I know it seems rude to not respond,but I don't respond to requests until I am ready to give you my full attention.If I try to talk to more than 1 or 2 people at a time,I lose all track of what is going on :oops:

Yeah,I saw it.I am starting to get back to working on the requests list.Doing the Gencon dice sort of burnt me out just a little(5 sets all at the same time!!)
Right now I am working on Jim's designs,so hopefully when he's recovered from his surgery he can play some Heroscape with brand new dice!

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile :oops:

I haven't really done much for people all summer(had too many things going on)But in the last couple weeks I have tried to get back to it.I just got done doing a couple sets for Jim and this weekend I am going to cut Deliverymanxus' a set.

I usually don't respond until I am ready to do whoever is up next.I'm not trying to be rude,there is just not a whole lot to say until I am ready to start working on that person's design.

I'm kind of in an unsure state of mind right now waiting for the flagbearers to come out so we can see how they are going to affect the custom dice.Do we need to come up with a generic symbol to represent all the flagbearer powers?I don't know.Is the release of flagbearers going to kill off my dice trade?I don't know,it could possibly make it more popular,'cause there are a lot of people that don't want to give up the red+blues.And if I can come up with some sort of universal symbol to put on red+blue so they can take advantage of flagbearers,I think quite a few people would be interested.

I don't see why you would need 2 sets of dice. They all have 3 skulls, 2 shields, and 1 symbol on them. What would your second set (with all 5 generals) be used for?

yep, it doesn't really matter if someone used Utgar Valkyrie dice while using the Vydar FB. it's just more for asthetics to use the dice that go with the leader of the FB, but it's not necessary from a game mechanics viewpoint.

so josh-n-papa, when can i send back my custom dice for a refit to get an FB symbol engraved on one side of each die? ;)

I was wondering how well the design lasts on the dice face?
Does it rub off? I know the original dice rubbed off a bit, but that was after a LOT of use.

Would you be able to do a sort of Marvelscape themed set? Perhaps like for the defense symbol Captain America's shield, and for the attack symbol maybe something like Venom's head? The dice would be white and then have the traditional blue and red colorings. So, I believe it would be the set of 12...?

Was also thinking of a spider(man) theme also. For the attack symbol have a spider that resembles the spider on Venom's chest, and a web for the defense symbol. Also for this, the set of 12, but black dice and the symbols silver. If you can make them silver, that is. If not, then white would be O.K.

If you're able to do this and would like to, what are you looking for to trade? Either of the sets would be fine, but both would be nice too :D


EDIT -- By the looks of it, I'm not sure if I can order custom dice like that, or if I have to pick something from what you've posted. If I did do this all wrong, haha, then I'd like these but on solid white dice, so once agian, on the set of 12 rather than the seperate red and blue dice.
