I'm thinking of making a new type of storage container for HS figures. I'd like to branch out to other games as well.
I need to know a little about the bases of other miniture lines.
Are all Clix bases/dials the same size?
How many base sizes are there for the DnD minis?
What are the bases like for the star wars minis? All one size?
What other mini games am I overlooking that also need storage solutions?
Thanks for your help.

I dunno anything about other games, except D&D. The bases are tiny, medium,large,huge,gargantuan,and colossul sizes. Tiny is like 1/4 the size of an HS base, medium about 1/2, large's about the size of the DW 9000's base, huge's about 2x2 or 3x3, Gargantuan's about 4x4,and Colossul's about 5x5.

To translate Claws' post, a Heroscape base is 1.5" diameter. So:
Tiny: 0.375" diameter
Medium: 0.75" diameter
Large: 1.75"? Depends on if DW's base is bigger than normal.
Huge+: At this size, I'd just get a large shoebox and put them in. That means more space for smaller figures, and easier setup for your figure case.
I'm not sure about other miniature games other than Warhammer, whose bases are 1" diameter for the regular bases.

I'm fairly familiar with the WizKids lines. I played MechWarrior for a couple years and dabbled a little bit in Mage Knight. My old roommate is still playing HeroClix.
MechWarrior bases:
Mech = 2" diameter
Quad Mech = 3" long, 2" wide
Vehicle = 3" long and 1.25" diameter
Infantry = 1.25" diameter
(I might be slightly off on the infantry and vehicle width, but that should be pretty close.)
Mage Knight figures are mostly the size of MW infantry except the mounted figures which are the same size as the vehicles. HeroClix figures are the size of MW infantry for the most part (there are some giant figures). I'd assume that Horror Clix and Halo Clix are also based on the infantry bases for the most part, but I don't know for sure. I think some of them might have added slots for equipment, so that might bump your base size up by 0.25" or so.

MageKnight has two sizes of cavalry: older one have a peanut shaped base 70mm long and 35 wide (used also by mounted HeroClix minis. and by the Nessie fig in HorrorClix).
Newer one has a pill shaped base 100mm long, 45mm wide.
Also, note that D&D and StarWars "Large" minis have two different sized base. Both occupy 2x2 squares on the map, but early minis have a base with 39mm diameter, newer ones have 48mm diameter.
